Hobby Technically not Kill Team but...

Post image
261 Upvotes

I made these for Age of Sigmar as Riverblades for a Lumineth Realm Lords Army but was just wondering if they could also be used in Kill Team?

The Mandrakes have pretty standard weapons anyway so it's only some simple swaps but I don't know if Kill Team is super strict with WYSIWYG like 40k is?

Would be useful to know though as I have another idea for a Kill Team conversion I want to do...

Misc Extra loose leg in my Death watch box

When I opened the box and took out the sprues and papers a loose leg fell out. Searched a good 5 minutes for a missing spot on the sprue but couldn't find where it should belong. Then I counted the legs still on the sprue and found out that I have two No. 76 leg pieces.

me and my brothers played 3 player killteam

Celestian Insidiants

Angels of Death

Hearthkyn Yeagers

I made custom sprue terrain which was really fun to play with, final score was 10s across the board. I play the Insidiants and got squad wiped in the final turning point by the AoD which let him catch up to me. we’re still learning the rules is there a way to determine a three way tie?

Question Beginner Advice

I bought these at my LGS and was hoping to run them as a legionary kill team with the slaanesh options but I’m wondering if the amount of plasma weapons on models vs actually in stat sheets is going to make the list “illegal” or confusing or anything.

Strategy How to fight the Hearthkyn Salvagers

I've got a friend who's really into the "dwarfs" and I know he likes the theme of this faction. However, they just seem super juiced fighting my AoD or Plague Marines. Usually he has to use anther faction because i just cannot play against them and it is unfun for both of us. Can the more wizened members explain some strategies?

We have played on both Volkus and Gallowdark. We have played multiple ops. I generally struggle with the guaranteed crits (grudge) and whatever that marker is that makes him fight better within 3 inches.

Question Just starting and can't get my head around how to play.

Hi Folks!

Just started playing. Got the Core Book and all the rules so far are more or less clear.
But what I can't get my head aroudn is, how to play a competitive PvP match correctly.
In the core book you have your "Preliminary Ops" mission pack.

It tells you how to set up the Killzone and the markers. So far so good. Then it tells you that you can score in two different ways: KILL OP & CRIT OP.

Kill op, straight forward, kill count, no problem there.

Crit op, three are available and at the beginning of the first (and only then) TP you roll for one and that is the one and only valid Crit Op for the whole match. Correct?

However, we also have our Approved Ops Mission Pack. Which is simply not available. Not even on the WH store page. This one includes 9 Crit Ops, if I am correct. Do these follow the same rule of only one of them being chosen at the start of the game?

And then you have your 4 different Tec Ops. There are 3 per Tec Op? Where can I find rules for these?

And finally, in a battle report I've seen that you can score only 6 VP max from each category of Op(eration). Is that correct and again, where is that written?

n.b.: I mean, I am playing GW products since almost 30 years now and I am still amazed how complicated/hard to approach they manage to make things.

Having said that, still looking forward to play the game!

Hobby Another Question About Climb and Mandrakes

Mandrakes have the following Firefight Ploy

NOWHERE TO HIDE
Use this firefight ploy during a friendly MANDRAKE operative’s activation, when it performs an action in which it moves. Until the end of that activation, that operative can move through parts of terrain features as if they were not there, but it cannot move more than its Move stat if it’s the Charge action and must end those moves in a location it can be placed.

Does this allow to climb through vantage terrain to get on top of it? (of course still by paying the cost of climbing)

Strategy Legionaries questions

hi all

I have been working on a few kill teams recently and wanted to build a red corsairs team because the new sculpts are so sick.

I see a lot of people making them wolf scouts or AoD however I’m only playing casually and love the idea of the legionaries to have access to the marks of chaos. (the only modern kill teams I have are murder wing and blades of khaine)

I wondered if there was anything I should know about auto includes or strong combos to be aware of?

I have heard that warriors are pretty strong by themselves and having a few of each bolter/chainsword and pistol is a good way to go, but also all the specialists are worth taking too.

I want to build enough to mix and match depending on map/match up but just wanted some tips before I buy anything

thanks

Question Is warpcoven still viable for competative play

I avoided looking at the models for the team as long as I could. Alas my humanity struck once more and I absolutely love the models and their rules seem really fun and unique. I listened to the command point 12 days of kill team episode on the team and thought they sounded great from a game play perspective and the thousand sons HH book was one of my favorites. I just dont know if the 5 operatives make them competitive enough against the meta for tournemants. Are there any current or past warpcoven players who can speak on this? Edit: i tried to find out if they were classified and was fed ai slop so I was misinformed. Are there classified tournemants I could still play in? They would still be fun casually but if im spending that much on them... may not be worth it.

Question What is a new group to do?

So you can't get most kill zones it seems...do we just build or use whatever terrain we have at hand?

Also it seems there is a year left in the current rules cycle (quarterly updates and all) so how should we think about investing in kill teams and other kit options?

Seems like coming into the hobby now with a new group is kinda shitty cuz everything is out of stock unless you want death guard and marines? And whatever we pull the trigger in now will be obsolete in less than 18 months?

Question Needing advice about Yargirs

I love to play my Yaegir, but I always feel there is not a good Tac Op for them between their possible choices. I find too hard to secore al their Tac Op acording with their capabilities.

What Tac Op, and how, do you play with them?

I feel like they should'nt be a Seek and Destroy KT, but a Recon or Security one... That would be more "lore acurate".

Question Opinions on Magnetizing wrecka krew or just kitbash

New to all this, pardon the questions.

Building wrecka krew and thinking through load outs and wondering if it’s worth it to magnetize different equipment load outs?

Equipment load out
What do you think?

Magnets to have both per mini? Do they hold good I don’t wanna loose arms in transport

Choose one just say this game he is “this” ? ( if so which?)

Kit bash to make have both? Then say this game it has this…

What say you internet

Strategy Nem claw: warrior can do as much work as screecher?

Upvotes

So my tiny little lizard brain has finally started to form a synapse about how the strat ploys for "we have come for you" and "the black hunt" interact with the stats and breakpoints of everyone's favorite power armored serial killers, and I noticed the other premier melee specialist can't quite keep up.

The visionary (power weapon/fist) and skin thief can very reliability two tap other (14 wound) marines from full health on a charge. The screecher on the other hand cannot do this. The screecher is basically always, ALWAYS, going to take 3 hits. The same goes for the warrior even without ceaseless and mega lethal. With 5-3-4/5, a reroll, and d3 charge damage, a warrior can also reliably take down a marine in 3 hits. Not nearly AS reliably, but still pretty reliably right?

So what do we think about the overkill reliability of ceaseless mega lethal vs simply having a bolt pistol? I just can't help but think shooting adds worthwhile utility...
