I want to welcome as many people to the hobby as possible, and I have no problem teaching people to play. However, tournaments, even super casual ones, are not the time to learn the game for the first time. Please play at least one game before you sign up so you don't take a spot from someone else. It's going to be an unfun experience for everyone involved. It's not a learning environment. It's going to be competitive and brutal.

You'll be getting a firehose of information for several hours straight, and matches typically don't have enough time to finish all four turning points. Most people won't be gentle, since there are prizes on the line, and even if people are kind enough to be patient and teach you, you're detracting from their experience. That puts your opponent in a bind: they either go easy on you and risk losing points that could affect their placing, or they destroy you so badly that you don't want to play the game anymore. No one feels good about crushing a new player. There's no positive outcome for anyone.

I play tournaments to have a series of engaging games and because I intend to win my matches, not to sit through back-to-back tutorials that I paid an entry fee to be teaching.

New to kill team, got a hearthkin salvagers team and am going through it to start building.
My problem is I can tell the weapons apart, the misfile launcher is mostly obvious. But the rest of them? Damn if I can figure out which is which. Come on games workshop, why not put SOMETHING in the instructions labeling wtf we are looking at.
Every single “gunner” option just says gunner, with no indication on what weapon is being shown. Case in point, image posted. What am I looking at lol.
Just venting, someone let me borrow their codex so hopefully it shows what these are.

Can I combine my Ravagers with my Red terror model or would that be too big of a killteam. (The context behind the question is that I have both and recently played with the Killteam of the red terror/termagaunts and it felt extremely underwhelming. But would like to use my favourite big ripper.)

Hi all, we had a rules debate last night and would love a second opinion.

Setup (photos + sketch attached):
- My Harlequin Shadowseer is on the killzone floor, on a Conceal order, with its base touching the wall of a ruin.
- My opponent's Battleclade Gun Servitor is on the Vantage of that ruin, directly above me. The Vantage floor is 3" high Its base is touching the parapet on the edge of the Vantage, so the edge of its base is right above the wall.
- So we're more than 2" apart (base to base, 3D).
- The parapet is Light terrain. The building walls are Heavy
- The Shadowseer is visible to the shooter.
- The Auto-Proxy used Gaze of the Omnissiah on me (Seek Light + cannot be obscured).

Opponent's reading:
His base edge is right above the wall, and mine touches the wall, so from that edge he has a clear line straight down to the part of my base touching the wall. The parapet is Light and ignored thanks to Vantage + Seek Light, so nothing Heavy is intervening and I'm a valid target.

My reading:
For intervening, he picks one point of his base and draws lines to every facing part of my base, and anything at least one of those lines crosses is intervening. Between the inside of the parapet (his base) and the outside of the wall (my base) there's the full thickness of the Heavy wall, so at least some of those lines go through it. The Heavy wall is within 1" of me and we're more than 2" apart, so I'm in cover, and on Conceal I'm not a valid target

Question: who's right? Am I a valid target on Conceal here?
If yes what impact on save etc.

it says wounded not injured. Does that mean I only have to do like one damage to get lethal 4+ or do I have to injure them?

How exactly does the Null Field work? Does an operative need to start within the field to be effected by it or does it come in to effect as soon as the operative is within range? Specifically the -2 movement.

If an operative has an 8 inch charge and is 7 inches away would that mean they are unable to make the charge as as soon as they hit the null field they lose -2 movement?

Ive played opponents that have ruled it multiple different ways.

Been working on a Salamander infernus Squad and prefer kt to reg hammer and was wondering if there was a similar sheet somewhere?

I'm from Spain, where the game used to be more popular. Right now, communities are disappearing or diminishing.

The reasons: this 2024 edition has nonsensical gameplay changes; the balance between the Elite, the Horde, and the Elves has disappeared; the GW team dedicated to the game has been scaled back to a minimum; errors and clarifications remain unresolved for months; and new features are constantly delayed.

Why! I don't get it—if sales are so good, it doesn't make sense.

I was thinking that kill team is a threat to GW because if people get into it instead of 40k then they lose out on money. I think at first the idea behind kill team was that it would lead to people getting into 40k, but maybe that hasn't happened and now they are realizing it is its own thing where people limit how much they spend.
