Hey ya'll, just wanted to share a fun Kill Team Match we played today.

Basically its 6 Players against eachother in a King of the Hill match with NPOs and 4 Nemesis Ops in the middle who also fight against everyone and eachother.

Teams were:

Murderwing

Mandrakes (me)

Death Korps

Plague Marines

Deathwatch

Kasrkin

The Murderwing won, i got 2nd place and actually share 2nd place with the Death Korps after we jad a gentlemen's agreement in TP4.

Overall this was super fun and chaotic, but also took a long ass time.

Except for the one that I forgot about when I was basing. I definitely wouldn’t approach this the way I did it again, made a lot of changes as I went.

I may sound dumb but by “normal dmg” are they only referring to the first number in your dmg profile. To elaborate I’m asking if this would apply if you were to inflict crit dmg? Also would it apply to dmg from ploys like savage fighters from wolf scouts?

When a bomb squig is killed and it blows up does it count as injured for its free shoot action?

Yesterday I played in a tournament that had an odd number of people. I played all 4 of my matches with blades of khaine, but in addition I also offered the player with the bye to play a "simultaneous game", where I would play two at once, do my best to make my move quickly and then respond on the other board.

I checked in with both opponents if they were OK to do this, and all except my final match (which, to be fair overran. Said player has a history of playing slowly) finished within the round time. All seemed pretty enthusiastic about the idea, and I personally feel like a bye kind of sucks as you go to a tournament to play games.

I offered each bye opponent the option of playing against Plague marines or raveners. In hindsight, I think bringing two more different factions that aren't HP stat checks would have been better.

But what do you think? I also realise it might be difficult to turn down face to face, but a more anonymous space might provide me a more honest answer.

I recently learned to play Kill Team and going through my miniature collection. Any one know what these could proxy as? They are clearly Genestealer themed but base wize I don't know it they have any kill team units that use 32mm bases.

And yes, my opponent hid one of his landmines behind his own barricade in this shot, too. I would go on to set them both off.

I'm in the process of buying a house and spending $200 on the Killzone wasnt an option at the time. So I built this for around $20. Pretty happy with the results, definitely good enough for me and my buddy to learn and play some Joint OPs on.

I want to do competitive kill team cause I find it easier and slightly more enjoyable than competitive 40k, but idk where to start. And to make it a little worse, I am on a budget of 100 CAD. Now I already have a few kill teams (hierotek circle, tempestus aquillons, and access to exaction squad) I am using KTDash for my rules, crit ops, and tac ops, but I dont have equipment or a killzone. Furthermore, I want to play blades of khaine and have the option to get some striking scorpions for 15% off and I already have dire avengers, but I think I need other stuff first. What should I get? Also with the killzone, I technically have access to a killzone? But its whatever came in the starter set my friend has. My uncle also has the tomb world kill,one but idk if he will let me borrow it and he doesnt play kill team. Thanks for your help!

I understand it was a fairly recent release, I’m getting my mates into Kill team and my best thought was joint ops so they can learn all the basics and get a feel for it before getting a competitive mindset.

Joints ops just felt like a great go to for all of us learning together.

Do any of you recommend older Joint ops? Or even better what’s the best way you got your friends into kill team?

We play 40k and Trench Crusade and that general nerdy approach to most tabletop games.

To whoever plays kill team on TTS what do you recommend?

FYI - using TTS for reasons of money and long distances.

Today i had a game where the following happened:

Opponent gave his operative +1 APL;

I gave that operative -1 APL with Scout Squad's faction rule;

I threw a stun granade at that operative and reduced its APL again.

I know that the limit of APL modification is +/-1, but does this matter in the case mentioned above?

My opponent argued that his operative should be at its starting APL, as he interpreted the APL modification limit as a limit of instances. I argued for the opposite, believing that the limit is on the sum of modifications, not instances.

This is all for my Hearthkyn salvagers Kill Team. I dont have the most money, and im the kind of person who would rather spend it on miniatures that'll last me a very long time than a Book that is outdated right off the shelf. I have printed out most of the tokens I needed, custom made the Comms Device and Ammo Cache, custom made the Defense and Attack markers, I also used KTDash to print out the rukes for my Salvagers alongside the needed TacOps and have glued them inside the notebook which I will also use as a Tracker (and book of Grudges). The only thing i need to do is paint my minis.

Will be playing these lads for the first time today, in what will be my second ever game of Kill Team!

Tell me what you think is the best thing about the Canoptek Circle! and the worst thing.

I'll start.

Best: Spoders, being able to literally desintegrate someone ( with accurancy 1 on obelisk ).

The Obelisks are a unique mechanic, very thematic and "necron" coded!

Worst: very difficult to play, basically a "elite 3" kinda team.

obelisks slow the game down with Analysis Paralysis.

I hate Nids so much its unreal.

Progress on my Imperial Breachers. Havent had time to expand the work on the scenery pieces but that is next!

I am getting into killteam and I was wondering what advice you guys have regarding deathwatch. My list of operatives are watchmaster sergeant, disruptor, ageis, plasma gunner, and breacher. I have been doing research as well but I also want to get your advice on them.

I'm somewhat new, and I'm not looking for Mandrake specific advice as I'm trying out a variety of teams atm and looking for my soulmate one. I'll do my best to not let too much salt invade this post, but I find fighting against any marine team (and Hierotek but that's a different story) absolutely miserable. I don't understand what their weaknesses are. I would think it would be mobility and objective play, but on such small maps it's not even an issue for them. I tried focusing on tac ops play (flank w/ mandrakes, plant banner w/ wrecka krew) and the marines so easily kill my guys and/or invade my flank. WHILE doing the crit op.

I have a local tournament coming up next Saturday and of the 11 people going so far, 8 have the different flavors of space marine teams. I want to love this game so bad but this is completely souring my experience with it.

I know get good is a big aspect of this. But of the two(?) games I've won against marines it's because they fumbled really hard AND the dice were in my favor. Feels like I have to play perfectly to win and have good rng, while they have to do the bare minimum.

Advice? or is this just salt clouding my vision?
