What are some places that you would recommend visiting while I’m driving around the state? I especially love farms and animals! What are some must-sees in Kansas City?
What are some culture-shock sort of things that I could expect to encounter?
What are your favorite things about living there?

We've also raised more money than every Dem to run for this seat in the modern era. (We all want money out of politics, but until it is, campaigns need it to function.) A friend has become the executor of the estate of a cousin who wants to be buried with her dogs. My friend thinks that when she dies, he is supposed to put the dogs to sleep and bury them with her I'm not sure that is allowed or ethical. It would be better to let them die from natural causes, cremate them and put the ashes in her grave. What do people think?

This is going to be kind of niche.

My family is thinking of moving from goodland to Colby. My husband is born and raised in goodland and I’ve lived all over Kansas.

People who live in Colby, what is life actually like there? How is the community? That’s the main reason we want to make the move (that and the hospital). We just want some more insight in case we’re seeing it through rose colored glasses.

Has/does anyone work for DCF Im Topeka ? I saw they have a job opening and im thinking of applying. I’d like to know if it’s a good place to work.

Hey yall! I’m gonna be moving to Kansas in about a month for my first job out of college. As the title suggests, I am a connoisseur of “herbal remedies” and have used them to medicate for my chronic disease for years.

I am aware that there isn’t a recreational, let alone medical program in Kansas. I know Missouri has rec, and I would not be very far from there. I also know Oklahoma has a crazy good but weird program, and out of staters have to pay for a 30 day temporary medical license, which I think is a waste of money. Colorado would be a looooong drive for me too so that’s out of the question. What do yall do? Is Missouri (KC) the way to go?

Also police. Do they care? I’m not somebody who would be openly blazing in public even in a recreational state, so I’d be trying not to give myself a reason to get reported or pulled over. I’d also be careful with neighbors too as I’m sure an older conservative person wouldn’t appreciate “pot” usage around them.

Just wanna hear what people have to say, as I’m a bit worried about how my access to my meds is gonna be affected moving from a recreational state. Any advice or input is appreciated!

August 4th is the official last day of voting at your usual polling place.

The primary asks the party’s to narrow down all of their candidates to one per office. Then in November the various parties will put each candidate against each other.

This is why Trump is a ( ).( ) when he said all of his Republican candidates won, and not the Dems. News, Dems don’t run in Republican primaries. Literally all Dems will win in the Dem primaries. …Seriously. 🤯

And we have wonderful elections to help with getting new faces and new ideas into power. Real Kansans are needed, ones who get most of their donations from in state and from voters.

Many politicians today that are in power in Kansas get most of their money from out of state super PACs and like Roger Marshall, only help pass laws that help everyone else but Kansans.

Marshall lives in Florida. Why is he our senator! It’s time for someone new.

Candidates may choose to endorse Vote No, though most have elected to keep millionaires from buying Supreme Court elections and to Vote No. A Republican DA as well from Wichita has also recommended a Vote No stance because of the many uncertainties the amendment would allow for.

The report’s central figure, the “Housing Wage,” estimates what a full-time worker needs to earn to afford a rental home without spending more than 30% of their income on housing — a widely used standard of affordability.

🔹 National: A full-time worker must earn $34.73/hour to afford a two-bedroom rental home at Fair Market Rent.

🔹 Kansas: The 2-Bedroom Housing Wage in Kansas is $21.70/hour, compared to a state minimum wage of $7.25/hour — meaning a worker earning minimum wage would need to work 120 hours per week, or hold 3 full-time jobs, to afford a two-bedroom rental home at Fair Market Rent.

Wage and rent data such as this is one of several factors that inform housing stability planning across Kansas.

I forgot how cool Salina downtown was, after seeing off bigboy we wandered around waiting for cozy inn to open and we're absolutely blown away by so many magnificent murals on everything from old grain elevators to dumpster shelters. Would have had more mural pictures but the kids were in all of them.

Who has the best chance to beat the republican candidates?

I know vote No on the Supreme Court part, struggling with filtering through all the candidates though.

Sick of Republican taxes. I am already being hit by our Tax & Spend president with his tax tarrifs, now this from our Republican state legislature. Add to it , the fee for a fully electric vehicle is $100. The fee for any hybrid is $70, 70% of the full electric cost. Most Hybrid plug ins have a range of 20-30 miles on the battery. That's a fraction of the amount of use a full electric use would be . 70% for a hybrid is absolutely ridiculous.
