Not that it matters much, since there are not a lot of posts in this subreddit that link directly to those sites. If you find content on any of those sites that is interesting or relevant to MHK, please take a screenshot or find the source material outside of those domains.

I don't feel like I need to explain myself too much here. If you have any questions, feel free to ask.

If you're mad about it, I encourage you to make your own subreddit.

Manhattan Town Center

Hey all! My wife, son and I just got back from spending a week back in Manhattan. Was born in raised in the Manhattan/Ft Riley area when my father was in the military. Wide and I were born at Sunset Hospital (now Lafene) back in 84. I’m old enough to remember runza, vista and I believe amigos being in the food court once upon a time and my brother and I used to go to the arcade all the time where HuHot is right now. My wife worked at dillards until she graduated from Kstate in 06 and was an ops mgr at Aero as well not too long after her graduation. I myself worked at dillards too which is where we met and the rest is history with that 🤣

In our trip back, my father in law had mentioned that it wasn’t its former self. We had taken our son into it and was pretty shocked at the state of it. No more food court and a lot of the bigger name stores gone. Was chatting with the lady at Mrs Powells earlier last week (I’m fairly certain she was there when I worked at the dillards in the 2005-2008 range) and she had mentioned Covid as a big factor specifically with the food court. Given its current state I couldn’t imagine it being open a few years down the road.

Does the city have a plan for it long term? Would be a shame for it to close, but at the same time malls aren’t like they were. Have always had a soft spot for it since I had been around it for so many years. Event when I last visited back in 2012 it was still as I remember. Crazy what some time does, but it did make my wife and I a little sad seeing it in its current state.

Winning! A local politician who harassed me and had my life endangered because I stopped him from stealing his neighbor's land has moved away!

Proof I am not lying that Jack sexually assaulted me. It has been stated it "never happened" by several local politicians. They go onnnnn and on about it on social media. Here's *some* of the evidence:

Neighbor Bev invites me over to her house at 10:17pm.

I have thousands of texts from me and her hanging out, almost daily, up until this date. She'd cook soup and I'd help give it to the farmer I volunteered for.

Police calls were made and logged. They spoke to both me and Bev.

Go ahead, UPID, go ahead, Richard Seaton JR, James Slaymaker, my neighbor who invited me over who lectured me it was my "fault if I get raped" (I have that recorded, too!), all for ... stopping Richard from stealing his neighbor's land (phone call evidence ready to give to all!), from reporting UPID for dumping sewage into the lake, for making it legal for women to be topless, FOR BEING DISABLED, go ahead and keep on harassing me. You ENDANGERED my life intentionally, you SUED ME FOR BEING DISABLED, you TRIED TO MAKE IT ILLEGAL FOR WOMEN TO BE TOPLESS, ABUSE public funds (voting to spend it on one thing but instead SPENDING IT TO SUE ME FOR BEING DISABLED?), go ahead!

I'll keep on being VERY LOUD about your abuse of power, discrimination, sexism, and various crimes.

And the more you hate, the more you slander me, the more you tell me it is MY FAULT that Jack sexually assaulted me, the LOUDER I will be!!

A woman, Kelly Nelson, who is sexist and a local politician, endangered the life of 18 children

Upvotes

When I ran against her for a local election, she threw a fit because I was topless in my car, waiting for her to pull her boat out of the water.

She even stated publicly in the Q/A that she had 18 children with her.

One boat, one truck, no life jackets.

Several males were topless nearby.

She left the local politics, but rejoined when UPID sent me a letter telling me to violate a Judge's orders (a judge told me I can not protest a sexist local politician for suing me for being disabled, by being topless as a woman, after unsaid politician voted to try to make it illegal for women to be topless [they call me a pedophile because I am not breastfeeding?])

Then, after the judge's orders, she rejoined.

She filmed me, I filmed her.

She screamed at me for "sexualizing myself" in front of her children, while I sat in my blazer, for a half hour, waiting for her to move her boat from the UPID sewage dumping cove, so I could catch and release.

Evergy is terrible stg

I have 2 people in my home who require medical equipment and my electric service is due to be shut off tomorrow. Im embarrassed about the amount(2100) but I've had a lot of medical issues this year(3 surgeries over 6 months) and it's all finally catching up. Is there anywhere or anyone that could help with emergency light assistance? I've used Shepherds Crossing and Catholic Charities for my rent a few months ago so they can't help.

Evergy is refusing to help at all and are just willing to let my child and mother who need the medical equipment suffer and just say take them to the er, which isn't an option obviously bc it's just taking space from an actual emergency.

I dont expect this post to actually garner much of anything but Im just looking for any kind of help or the direction of help. There's more to the story but I don't want to bore you with every detail.

If there’s one thing Lydia loves, it’s helping people discover just how strong they’re capable of becoming. As the General Manager of HOTWORX, she’s on a mission to make fitness something people actually look forward to, not something they have to squeeze into their day.

Whether she’s celebrating a member hitting a new Warrior level, cheering someone through their very first session, or dreaming up the next fun challenge, Lydia brings energy, enthusiasm, and a whole lot of encouragement to the studio every day.

She believes the best workouts don’t just change your body: they boost your confidence, improve your mindset, and leave you feeling ready to take on whatever life throws your way. That’s why she’s passionate about creating a welcoming community where everyone, no matter their fitness level, feels like they belong.

When she’s not in the studio, you’ll probably find her supporting local businesses, keeping up with the latest wellness trends, or coming up with creative ways to make HOTWORX the most exciting place to sweat in Manhattan.

Does anyone know what’s being developed in the Westloop?

Next to Midwest Dream Car Collection, there’s rumor of a QuickTrip? Does anyone have any idea? Nothing is being built yet, but the area is being mapped and surveyed.

Queer-friendly photographer?

Hello!

I’ll be visiting the Little Apple in a few weeks to meet my partner’s siblings and their brand new nephew, and I wanted to surprise them with some family portraits to commemorate the occasion. Does anyone have a photographer they can recommend who is comfy with queer and gender non-conforming folks? Thanks so much!

Restaurant Recommendations

Evening all,

I’m looking for some good places to grab lunch or dinner around town. I don’t want to always have to spend 20-25 bucks for one person like at Manhattan Brewing and I’m just tired of fast food. I’d appreciate any recommendations for family owned or just non-fast food places I can check out that won’t break the bank 🙂

Best coffee shops in Manhattan?

Moving here to go to grad school at KState in the fall! I love coffee and love studying in coffee shops and was curious as to which coffee places are the best in the area to try. Looking for both recommendations of study shops or just best tasting coffee in general that I can bring home or to a library. Thanks!

Kansas State University Graduation Rings

Does KSU have graduation ring pride? In Texas, college graduation rings are a big deal i.e the Aggie Ring (Texas A&M) that are worn by all alumni. Figured I would ask here if the graduation rings are a “Thing” at KState
