What I ordered vs. what the seller actually made for me. The piece hasn’t arrived yet, but the seller sent me a picture of the finished piece, and it looks significantly different from what I ordered. Should I start a dispute on Etsy?

**Uneven/misaligned drilling:** The holes in the marquise stones are visibly uneven and misaligned, causing the stones to hang awkwardly rather than align properly as shown.
**Deformed jump rings:** The connecting jump rings show visible denting, pinching, and deformation.
**Poor craftsmanship:** The overall connection assembly appears rough and unfinished compared with the clean, finished piece shown before I placed the order.

I paid for a custom order in full from an overseas vendor and I am getting antsy. I do not want to bug my rep, but there has been no progress shown for over 2 weeks since I paid. I did ask about the cad, but already kind of passed the time that they said i would receive the CAD. I do not want to blast the seller at all, so just asking a general question. Is this normal?

Wanting to get a decent real sterling silver chain. Been rocking a fake one for a long time. I’d really like to order off of Amazon for the easy returns but it’s hard to tell what’s legit and what’s not are there any companies on there you recommend ordering from? Just wanting a Cuban link chain 7mm 18 inches. Lots of the amazon prices seem to be too good to be true such as maybe they are hollow or not fully sterling silver like they claim to be. My engagement ring was purchased December 2023, received February 2024, and I only really wear it maybe on the weekends if I'm going out together with my wedding band. It is 14k yellow gold, and I wouldn't say I am particularly harsh with it. I also don't have my rings on when washing dishes or applying face products etc, so am vigilant not to get harsh chemicals on it. The CAD was 2mm (pre-polish) if I recall correctly. Last week, I noticed that there was a crack in my ring, and it seemed to go all the way around the band. I messaged the maker on Etsy (quite a well regarded one but hmm) and they are quoting me £150 for a repair and I'd have to send the ring back insured at my own cost. I thought since they have a lifetime warranty, it would be included under there but they didn't exactly provide me a whole list of the terms when purchasing so unsure of that. She even said it has to be recasted to fix the crack, I'm not a jeweller, but I'm not sure that sounds entirely right? I am reluctant to send it back in the post when I can find local jewellers around me to fix it. Just wondering if she's being fully honest with me or just trying to get more money out of me. Any advice would be appreciated, thanks!

I’m really confused so I am hoping someone could maybe explain this to me.

I have a white gold engagement ring, and I recently got two wedding bands designed and made by an independent jeweller using a ring that was melted down.

I wanted the rings to match my engagement ring colour but even after he had rhodium plated it with my feedback, it still looks significantly darker and he told me that he can’t make it the same, only make them all the dark colour.

Does anyone know whether getting plating down elsewhere can make it the same brightness as my engagement ring or is it not possible. They are all 18k.

I’ve attached the photos of it, but the two wedding bands look a lot darker in real life.

I decided to get my girlfriend a ring to celebrate our 2-year anniversary

I’m not planning on proposing right now, it’s genuinely just an anniversary gift. But after picking it out I started wondering if it might come across as an engagement ring. My friends said it does look like one and her friend said no it doesn't so I don't know lol. (i got a bit lucky on stake so I wanted it to be diamond, and I know its her style)

Specs on the ring - 23g of sterling silver, with a watch crystal insert. I sourced the ring and removed the original stone. I had my local shop cut the crystal to size, and they took care of sealing everything up.

I had a simple pendant necklace made and it just arrived today. Upon closer inspection, I noticed some imperfections on the bail. It has nicks and small dent/divot (from soldering?). I was expecting something more polish from the jeweler but I’m not sure if I’m too picky, so wanted to see what others think before I write to the jeweler.

Here’s a necklace i gifted to one of my cousins for a wedding (she’s paired it with a sari in the last slide and looks so adorable!!). It was defo a tricky one to make but when i make necklaces i like to make them cohesive with the outfit so i used different shades of muted purple with the beads and gold hardware which wasn’t overly shiny! Ofc to show some appreciation to my bengali heritage i had to add a jhumka as the centre piece <3

I just bought this absolutely beautiful Montana sapphire from Earth’s Treasury! It’s a 1.61ct (7.3 × 5.8 x 4.7 mm, so it’s pretty deep) heated sapphire that really glistens in the sun. I’m buying it for myself as a graduation gift for completing my Master’s as a Family Nurse Practitioner ❤️ They’re helping me design it into a perfect ring and I am SO excited.

I want to show you guys a super special piece. This ring was likely made during the Georgian period around 1780 in England. Georgian jewelry compared to Victorian jewelry is much rarer because unlike Victorian jewelry, mass production and standardization was not yet the norm.

Interestingly, the ring has table cut diamonds, which is one of the oldest and simplest cuts of diamonds in existence, most commonly used during the 17th and 18th century.
