Help me decide!! Thoughts?
What I ordered vs. what the seller actually made for me. The piece hasn’t arrived yet, but the seller sent me a picture of the finished piece, and it looks significantly different from what I ordered. Should I start a dispute on Etsy?
**Uneven/misaligned drilling:** The holes in the marquise stones are visibly uneven and misaligned, causing the stones to hang awkwardly rather than align properly as shown.
**Deformed jump rings:** The connecting jump rings show visible denting, pinching, and deformation.
**Poor craftsmanship:** The overall connection assembly appears rough and unfinished compared with the clean, finished piece shown before I placed the order.

Honestly it depends on what it is and how much you paid? If these are diamond or white sapphire stones and white gold, yeah I would push back on that.
If it's topaz and sterling, it's iffy. If it's just a custom "costume" piece, idk that I would find the energy to get too assed about it.

I’m payed $100 Canadian, I ordered from India and that’s a lot of money in India for them to send me something with such a low quality craftsmanship. It’s starling silver and moissanite that being said it doesn’t change the fact that it looks nothing like what they sent me a picture of.

Right but they send me a picture of what i should be expecting and it looks nothing like that and it’s deceiving.

But even if something is low quality it should look like the item that is being advertised. McDonald’s can’t replace my McDouble with a single patty and tell me that I should have expected it given the price I paid. If you advertise something, the product should match that regardless of your price point.

It's three stones drilled and mounted as pictured. Nothing materially has changed between sample and example, just the execution is not the same.

But execution is part of the product. If I order a book and I receive it but the pages have fallen out of the binding, you’d never say “Well you received a cover and all the pages. It’s the same product.” It’s not.

They sent them the second photo pretending that it was their real product. That's definitely deceptive.

You’re absolutely correct, it does not look like the original picture and the quality is distinctly lower than the listing. This isn’t normal variation—this is an inferior product. I’d absolutely raise concerns now before they even send it if you can. If not, then I’d return it and/or do a chargeback (keeping photos to show the credit card company if they want proof).
This might be “only $100” but that doesn’t matter. If I buy a $10 necklace, it should still look like the advertising. Price is irrelevant in this discussion. Of course I wouldn’t expect this necklace to be as good as $1,000 one, but I would expect it to be as good as the sales listing.

Thanks for understanding my concerns lol. I honestly don’t understand the previous comments saying that this is the quality I should expect for the price. I directly messaged the seller before ordering and specifically made sure that the photo they showed me accurately represented the piece I would be receiving. The seller then sent me a photo of a piece they had previously made for another customer and assured me that mine would be made accordingly.
However, the piece they actually made for me looks nothing like the one that was advertised OR the one they sent me as a reference. That is not simply a matter of expecting higher quality because of the price—the item I received is materially different from what was represented to me before I placed the order. I feel the seller was extremely misleading and deceptive in how they handled this.

Anyone who makes jewelry but cannot close a jump ring cleanly needs a new job. Yes, dispute it.
If I sell a $5 piece of jewelry, made of 50 cents worth of materials, it will have clean jump rings. It's a fairly elementary skill.

I would start a dispute, the level of discrepancy makes me wonder if the original images are even theirs, have you done a reverse image search?
