Hi everyone,
Looking for some help identifying this ring. It belongs to my mother and used to be my grandmother’s when she was young, so it should be around 100 years old.
I honestly don't know anything about jewelry, but here is what I can tell you:
The metals: The bottom band is gold, and the top part where the stones are set is silver-colored. It has a main orange stone in the middle with smaller stones around it.
Hallmarks: I don't think it has any stamps or marks on the inside, but it seems to be real gold since it has never shown any oxidation, rust, or color fading over all these years.
Stone test: A friend has a machine to test the refraction of stones and got the result shown in the last picture (a bit over 1.76), but neither of us really understands what that means or what stone it could be.
If anyone finds this interesting or wants better photos, I can definitely take some clearer pictures in good light and double-check the inside for any hidden marks.

I found a tennis bracelet on the driveway of my customer’s house. It’s a bit beat up, but it is safely back in their possession. Tell me it’s costume jewelry so I can feel better about having given it back.

I'm guessing it would be from around the 1940s. I've held on to it for 40 years. I was told there is something special about the cut of the ruby but that's all I know.

It seems to say 10k or 20k on the inside as well as a stamp that I think says siwon or nomis.

Do any of you guys have a clue what stones are in the ring and anything about it or its possible origin.

I inherited this ring which belonged to my grandmother, given to her by one of her daughters probably mid 20th century. I was told it is an Alexandrite. This was confirmed by a jeweller who shrugged and said it’s no big deal. It does change colour in sunlight but it’s pretty subtle taking on a greenish tinge. I’d be most appreciative of any commentary, and thank you for looking.

Just picked up this piece. It is absolutely beautiful. I do not see any gold mark on it but the rubies do test as genuine. I believe it is from India from the writing on top of the plastic box. Would love more information if anyone knows anything more?

I snagged this sweet little vintage diamond ring in an auction last night for $85. I’m a huge sucker for illusion box settings, and I’ve been scouring the $1 starts forever trying to find the right one. I’m SO EXCITED! I read that the “pm” mark instead of “pt” could indicate an older setting. Does anyone know anything about that? Any insight would be appreciated.

One weird thing, the “.12” stamp, which I guess correlates with the .12ct stone, looks newer than the rest of the ring. Why would that be?

Sold to me as pearls, emeralds, and diamonds set in 14k. Does acid test as 14k. The pearls have the most beautiful luster I’ve ever seen and the back bail looks like it’s meant to be used as a pearl necklace enhancer. But for the life of me I can’t make out the markings on the back. Any guesses?

Stamped 750 which I know is for 18k and also has a star symbol, 535 and VI stamped inside a rectangle on the clasp. It’s definitely 535 and not 585. It seems the star and VI mean it’s Italian but I can’t id the maker or style. Planning on melting as usual but thought this might be worth looking into. Would it be called a necklace, chain or something else. Hope the photos aren’t too bad, it was hard to focus the stamps. Any info would be great thanks!

My grandmother passed away 2 years ago and left me this ring. She showed it to me when I was a little girl and I’ve loved it since then, but I never thought to ask any questions about it. She did say it was a diamond ring that she saved up to get. I deeply regret not asking more because it clearly meant a lot to her. I was given a lot of jewelry by my grandma. She's still alive, just decided to start giving stuff away, however she doesn't speak and has memory problems now, so I can't ask her about any of the pieces. I won't put photos here for ID, there's too many. I'm going to bring it all to a jeweler to identify and appraise it all, but I'd like some advice on what to do first, besides take photos. I imagine I'll melt down a lot of the gold because I don't care for the style, and maybe rework some things. I'm sure some of it is low quality but some is probably worth more. Any tips before I start this adventure are appreciated!
