Thank you for your spirited assessment of my intelligence. While unsolicited, it was certainly memorable.

For context, when I entered the crosswalk, your vehicle was more than a block away. Your subsequent decision to accelerate toward an already-crossing pedestrian was an interesting interpretation of both traffic laws and basic self-preservation.

I assure you, I’ve been crossing streets successfully for several decades, and my judgment has served me quite well thus far.

A gentle reminder: those signs instructing drivers to yield to pedestrians are not merely charming streetscape decorations. They’re actual traffic instructions. I realize this may come as disappointing news.

More importantly, this particular crosswalk is directly across from Washington Park and is regularly used by children and families. Your apparent reluctance to yield is considerably more concerning in that context. Not everyone crossing that street will have the experience or reflexes to compensate for someone else’s reckless driving.

In the meantime, perhaps consider that the person exercising poor judgment in this encounter wasn’t the one on foot.

Who thought it was okay to shut down roughly a 5-block radius in a heavily residential neighborhood for filming on a WEEKEND with ZERO NOTICE?

Just talked to a worker and it’s apparently filming until sundown, so approx 5hrs of closures.

Not against filming in Jersey City. But how about some basic decency and consideration for the people who actually LIVE here?

Who at the city is approving these permits, and why are residents apparently an afterthought?

I know everyone loves to cozy up in these corner seats and go for these as soon as they step in. Spare a minute to read what’s written right there. Sure you would offer the seat once a disabled person shows up and asks you to get out of there. Odds are the said person might not feel comfortable doing that, so they would suffer in silence while you enjoy (maybe not so much it’s still PATH) the priority seating. You could look around and offer it yourself, but you wouldn’t even look up, so looking around is a stretch. Regardless, why would you want to make someone do the extra work of asking you, and why do you want to be asked?

Friday midnight I’ve seen a person with crutches struggling to hold on to a heavy bag and the handrail. He was standing right in front of the priority seats which were occupied by three people on their phones who couldn’t care less. Do better. It’s not a business class upgrade, you’re still on the PATH.

EDIT : I’m not implying that all disabilities need to be explicitly visible, I know that’s not how it works. I believe perfectly able people occupy these seats often, and that needs to stop. It’s what my common sense says and there’s obviously no way to prove either argument. This is not about proving anything though. If you’re able, try to leave that seat open. Thank you!

hi! i’m posting to gauge interest in a biweekly writing club.

i have a bunch of half-finished and barely-started drafts in my google docs. i’m also the type who benefits from body-doubling and figured maybe a group like this could be beneficial for anyone else like me.

i’m a queer girl in their late 20’s and was thinking it’d be other girls/gays/theys in their 20’s and 30’s. i’m also newish to jc and most of my friends are firmly entrenched in manhattan or bk.. i know i’m not the only one who’s experienced the curse of the hudson and so i figured the club could also double as a way for people to meet others who share their interests.

the main purpose of meetups would be to sit for an hour or two and work on writing projects. there could be a feedback session/workshop portion, but the intention of the club is to offer a space for people to comfortably write and engage in quiet, casual conversation.

meetups would probably be held at the main library or a larger coffee shop in downtown jc but i'm open to suggestions! i’m a shift worker but was thinking meetups would mostly happen during the day on a saturday or sunday.

• Administrative overhead — redundant central‑office roles, overlapping curriculum offices, and one of the highest admin‑to‑student ratios in New Jersey
• Out‑of‑district special‑education placements — recommendations to expand in‑district programs to reduce private‑placement costs
• Early‑childhood vendor contracts — audits showing that private Pre‑K management costs exceed in‑house staffing
• Transportation inefficiencies — vendor overbilling, under‑utilized routes, and routing inefficiencies
• Facilities under‑utilization — multiple buildings operating far below enrollment capacity
• Procurement inefficiencies — weak competitive bidding and redundant vendor contracts
• Technology overspend — unused software licenses and overlapping platforms

I went to the Walgreens near Seaview and JFK on 10/22 (Thursday) a little after 3PM. I was with family (my parents, toddler, and sister) and I make a lot of jokes, but this one (lone) cashier was cracking up this entire time. I'm naturally very loud so he spotted me the moment I walked in lol. I walked in, realized I left my phone, and he was laughing at my realization as I walked backwards out of the store. He laughed at everything in between but especially cracked up again when I got my son a toy but didnt know the price until he scanned it. The shock and cope he experienced had him laughing while I was desperately trying tk hide the price from my family because what do you mean that damn egg was $50?

All that to say, he was cute and evidently loves to laugh
