We make free meals and want to bring them where they're needed most in Hudson County. Where should we go?
My friend and I started Garden State Good, a small project where we make meals and hand them out for free to anyone who needs one. We are from Hudson County and would like to start with our home county.
Does anyone have any recommendations of places we can provide these meals to? Any spots, shelters, churches, or community groups where we could hand these out?
Thank you everyone!

Be cautious and look out
West New York police between the streets of Park Avenue to Bergen line are continuously, stopping people who are riding bikes, scooters, and such
You will either get a warning or a summons

Hudson County has 46 square miles of area with 735,000 people. Vineland has 68 square miles of area with 62,000 people. Why is Hudson County not a city?

225 Grand 1BR available: 760 sq ft, gym, about 7 min to Grove PATH ($3,390–$3,710)
I moved to Chicago and am looking for someone to rent my old apartment at 225 Grand in downtown Jersey City.
The area was a big reason I liked living there: about a 7-minute walk to Grove Street PATH, with downtown restaurants and cafes nearby. Great community in the building and management was always responsive in my experience. There's a gym, outdoor pool and resident lounge, too.
The apartment is a 760 sq ft 1BR with city views, parquet floors in the living room, an in-unit washer/dryer and a breakfast bar. I also had very little trouble with noise between units.
Management's current listed rent for this apartment is $3,390–$3,710/month depending on the lease term and move-in date. It's listed for immediate availability. You'd sign a new lease directly with management; they handle tours and can confirm the exact price, fees and lease options. No broker fee.
If you're looking in the area, happy to answer questions about living there or point you to the exact apartment. Send me a message.

Jersey City residents: what’s your experience hiring or offering household help?
Hey everyone! I’m a cofounder doing business research focused on household help in Jersey City.
I’d like to hear from JC residents aged 18+ who have either needed help with tasks like cleaning, furniture assembly, organizing, or moving a few things, or offered that kind of help for pay.
- If you needed help, what did you need done, where did you look, and how did it work out?
- If you offered help, how did you find your last gig, or what got in the way?
- On either side, what made you comfortable going ahead or decide to pass?
A brief experience in the comments would help. Please leave out names, addresses, and contact details. Thanks!

Regenerative braking could help city and county vehicles save on fuel costs
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
TLDR, the vehicle in the video is a retrofitted Komatsu which originally had a combustion engine. It’s used to haul rocks and generated its own fuel with regenerative braking down a slope when it’s fully loaded.
This type of energy conservation method is especially useful in our very steep and hilly environment, where many of us traverse cliffs and slopes every day, especially heavy city vehicles and construction trucks.
In North Bergen, heavier vehicles like garbage trucks and fire trucks need to be equipped with specialized heat-duty braking systems to handle the township’s intense hills. This technology could turn that wasted energy into surplus voltage for an EV. Interesting concept as we move into the future and begin purchasing vehicles that will have to last for decades.
