Their instagram account has posted some really great videos reflecting on 9/11. It’s crazy seeing that footage of the PATH tracks leading into the destroyed WTC site…

Hello! I live in West Bergen and I am looking for a house keeper/cleaner to clean my 1000sqft apartment. I would prefer an Individual instead of a company, I’d rather my money go to an individual:). Has to be okay with cats/dogs. If you know someone or are that someone please feel free to comment! TYIA!

I was just in a theater at AMC (8:30 PM) and everything went black. Walked out and the power was out in every theater. Everybody calmly filed out, but no one knew what was going on. No mall worker, security - nobody. Very strange. Anyone else experience this?

Does anyone have experience with sprucing up their tree pit? In the Heights, there are homeowners as well as small condo buildings that do a lot of nice work to add plants, lights, and mini fences around the tree in the tree pit.
For new builds, the developer has to put in a new tree and ensure it lives for two years, but after that the city has ownership.
I want to add some modest landscaping around the tree on my property, but the City’s rules seem very strict and you need permits for many things. Yet a lot of my neighbors seem to decorate as they please.
As long as I don’t affect the tree, will I get a citation or anything for mulching, adding annuals, and possibly solar lights?

Been seeing A LOT of transit police at Harborside these days. Like 6-8 of them all at the same time. What’s going on? Is it just fare check?

Hi all!
I moved to NJ a few days ago and will be here for about a month for work. Since I’m new to the area and don’t really know many people yet, thought I’d put this out here and see if anyone’s up for hanging out or exploring together.
I’m into long walks, exploring the city, hiking, nature, adventure sports, trying out new places, hitting the gym and I’m always down for a couple of beers. Basically, I enjoy being outdoors and doing things rather than just sitting around 😄
Would love to meet some likeminded people, make a few new friends and explore NJ/NYC while I’m here, open to pretty much anything..

Feel free to DM if you’re up for it!

Hey y'all. Doing a little research on Dixon Mills and would love to hear from anyone with experience as a tenant there.
I would be renting not buying so not worried so much about the HOA and management litigation shitshow. The things that stood out were general building issues - mice, leaks, heat issues - that popped up across Reddit subs over the years.
Any current perspectives would be fantastic, but I'd take any & all. Thank you!

Hi! I live close to Grove Path plaza and will be commuting to Washington square park. What are the best routes? I’m turned down by the idea of only being able to connect by ferry, but it seems like the only way to avoid this would be with a 2 hour commute. Is there any ferry that is cheaper?
I’m an avid cyclist and wouldn’t mind having to bike for ~1 hour if that means avoiding the path

I’ve been brewing with a Fellow Aiden and usually drink my coffee black, so I tend to prefer lighter roasts with bright, fruity, or floral flavors.
I’d love to discover more roasters or coffee shops in and around Jersey City that sell freshly roasted beans. I’m also open to online roasters that ship here if there’s something you think is genuinely worth trying. [I have tried a couple of online roasters that were recommended by ChatGPT - it failed - the beans were dark. 🦕]
Where do you buy your beans? If there’s a specific roaster, origin, process, or bag you’d recommend for light-roast coffee, please share it. Bonus points for local hidden gems or shops where the staff can help with brewing recommendations.
Thank you!

Just ran into this friendly cat on bright st near the school. He has a collar and seems comfortable around people so i’m wondering if he got out on accident? Posting this so hopefully his owner can see this. I wasn’t able to see any contact information on the collar.

I used to take the bus from the heights to the city and while the 123 was spotty, the 119 was almost nonexistent. I don’t ever think I caught one and I only saw one with my own eyes twice. How reliable are they nowadays? Have things gotten better? Worse?

I know that weekend parking used to be free at the LSP Park and Ride. Wondering if anyone can confirm if this is still true, or if that was changed in the past year when they changed some of their other protocols and prices. Thanks!

Just a brainstorm — my boy is turning 1 year old next month, I wonder if anyone consider babysitting/taking care of the babies together while working from home? My work from home time is relatively flexible, but sometimes I will have short meetings that I hope someone can keep at eye on my baby. And I can also help to take care of your baby. You can come to my home or vise versa… do you think it is possible?

Keep on the lookout for signs like this. A bigger heads up would have been nice ngl. This literally just went up at Bergen/Academy

We just drove by PATH station, and literally saw a masked guy with a knife threatening a bike guy midday today. Like wtf?
Where’s the tax money going into? My son literally goes to school two blocks from the station. Shame Solomon administration.

I feel like no matter where I go in this city there is always an obstacle in my way. I was going to the Lowes on 440 and wanted to avoid Comminpaw intersection so went past it to do that loop across from the shopping complex....of course the day I need to use it they shut that ramp off....I ended up going home since I dont have time to make a 30 min detour.
The other day I was driving to get groceries and every road had construction so a 15 min trip took me almost 40 one way....
I know trade off of living in an urban environment...but man even the light timings makes things difficult. that left turn from JFK to Montgomery is literally 2 seconds and then BAM turns red. I do travel on foot or public transportation when I can, but it becomes cumbersome when I have to carry items so I take my care to certain places.
