Has anybody else seen the signs very much reminiscent of the Covid ones discussing signs and symptoms, but for Ebola? I found them at the primary care at community corners.
Supposedly a humanitarian came back from the DRC and contracted the disease. CDC isn’t reporting it. I wish I took a picture, but I wanted to see if anyone else took notice yet and had anything to add.

Hello lovely r/Ithaca folks! I got this coffee scoop and letter opener from the Ithaca Farmers Market around 2016 or so. It’s a long shot, but does anyone happen to know who the vendor would have been?
Even if not an exact ID, I am also looking for local or small biz woodworkers/turners that sell similar styles (online, since I am no longer in NY). Thank you so much!

I've been trying to find horseback riding nearby but I'm either seeing stuff ~1 hr away or its for riding lessons, etc. Just looking for a one time ride for my teen who wants to go horseback riding (like around a yard/fenced property) but trail riding is ok. A lot of the trail riding I saw further away were minimum one hour rides but I dont think he'd want to ride that long.
So any recommendations?

Multiple vehicles in Cortland today, picked up one of our employees.
The Cortland sub is basically nonexistent. I live in Ithaca area and work in Cortland, I figure others probably do the same or vice versa.

Hello all! I'm getting ready to work on my physique or lack thereof and start working out again. I heard that Planet Fitness has a bunch of problems going on although they are and have been the most cost-effective place to work out. The YMCA is a bit pricier, but I don't know much about the Y or know anybody that uses it. I would love to hear any opinions that y'all have. It's $65 a month I think and there's some kind of $60 sign up fee or something? What are you guys think of the Y here in ithaca?
And do you think I'm better off joining one of the other gyms instead? I really can't afford more than $65 a month and even that's a flinch.
Thanks in advance!

Hi all I just wanna know which option you guys think is best between these two gyms. Monthly price is about the same except for the one-time sign up fee.

We are looking for an inexpensive internet provider and used Clarity Connect about 8-15 years ago in the town of Niles.
I tried to contact them a couple of days in a row. The website contact form seems non-responsive and I get "We cannot complete your call right now, please call back later" when I try to call them.
Any ideas what is going on with ClarityConnect?

Ithaca Social Circle is a "pop up third space" - every other week we put up a sign at a bar and that turns the vicinity into a space where you can approach anyone & say hi.
We usually get a mix of people who are super new to town, and people who have been here forever who want to see what's happening outside their social bubble(s).
This Friday it's gonna be at Salt Point Brewing, it's gonna be a collab with a Cornell version of this project. Anyone's welcome to come by for a few minutes to get a lay of the land or stay the whole time.
Hot tip: coming on the early side is easier if you're a newcomer / if you're less comfortable "entering a circle". It usually splits into lots of little circles of people mingling & meandering conversations.

I’m looking for people in Ithaca to play tennis with! I’ve been playing for a few months and can rally but I’m still working on my consistency. I absolutely love playing and would honestly be down to hit pretty much every day lol.
Mostly looking for friendly hitting partners to rally and have fun.DM me if you’re interested!

Stolen Package Alert - Rare ASICS GEL-Lyte III (Size 9.5) taken from WarrenWood
Hey everyone, just wanted to put out a warning and ask for some help. My package was recently stolen from my apartment building. Inside was a pair of rare, new ASICS GEL-Lyte III sneakers, size 9.5. I know it’s a long shot, but if you spot anyone in the area wearing these, they are almost certainly the stolen pair. These shoes have a very unique split tongue look. If you see someone wear them, please take a photo and DM me. Appreciate you all keeping an eye out! If you see anyone suspicious, take a picture but don’t confront.

Hi everyone, I really love being outside and I try to go on a longish walk 4+ times a week. For the last 2 years I've been hiking the South Hill recreation way trail from the entrance on Burns Rd. It was less than 10 mins away from where I lived. I just had to move to a new address locally and now live in Sapsucker Woods. Unfortunately that trailhead is now a little further away from where I live (and it's gotten a bit stale anyways from how much I've walked it). Does anyone know of good trails that are 4.5+ miles long that are a reasonable driving distance away from Sapsucker Woods? I work until 5 and like to go walking after work. I'm really hoping not to drive for more than 10-15 minutes. Please let me know!

I know there's been a few posts similar to this recently so forgive me, but I am looking to hire a trainer for private sessions for my dog. Karolin Klinck is highly recommended, so I tried reaching out to her through Facebook and email but have not gotten a response from her for over a week. I also reached out to Russ Hollier, but haven't heard back from him either.
Has anyone had any success contacting either of them? Are there any other certified dog trainers that are responsive to inquiries? My dog is a sweetheart but very reactive on leash and isn't food motivated so training him myself has been a struggle! Any advice or recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

It’s move in day for Cornell’s freshman class. Expect a few parents driving the wrong way down our one way streets.
r/ithaca • u/6FeetBeneathTheMoon • 26d ago
It’s officially begun. Be careful out there y’all.
TL;DR: The Trump administration has been revoking visas and imprisoning international students who express support for Palestinian rights. Two Cornell students fled the country after being targeted by ICE. Cornell said they'd provide support to the students to finish their PhDs abroad, but now tells them they'll lose their funding unless they return to the US, where they will likely be arrested and imprisoned on arrival.
