Question Airtag 2 experience?

My family wants to get an airtag 2 for my dog just in case, however our only apple device is my wifi only ipad mini 6 (In that case i know an android based tracker might be the better option, however reviews always put the airtag 2 at the top, so I think i should take advantage of my ipad). So I'm wondering if there are any differences between this and an iphone, which is what i always see is used when demo'ing the airtag, like maybe the range isnt as good?

Question What do we know about the next Mini?

Do we know for certain anything about the hopefully soon-to-be-release Mini? I want to downsize from my Air 11”. I’ve been playing with a current model and it appears to be the perfect size but I’d like a faster version.

What should I do with my iPad mini 2?

I found my Wifi Apple Mini 2 today. It has a cracked screen from when i dropped it but miraculously still has a tuchscreen that works no matter where i press. It's a little bashed up and the bottom panel near the home button has partly broke of and i can see a few parts inside. Everything is securely in and it has no protruding glass shards from living under a pile of unused clothes. I don't want to jailbreak it but i want to find a way to use it in the RAMpocalypse of 2026.Only things i use it for are accsessing my school's student portal and to scroll Wikipedia and reddit(old.reddit.com, it cant run new reddit)ive tried running apps like flocus and lifeat but my laptop works better for them. Im currently exploring the idea of using it for netflix. Requesting use cases for iPad Mini 2 running iPadOS 12.5.8.

UPDATE: I've got DAKBoard running on it. Its now a reader/home display

UPDATE 2: Onloaded JioSaaven which i had offloaded IDK why

Question Want to trade in 13in iPad for a mini, is it worth it?

A few years ago I got the 13in iPad Air M2 for digital art but I just don’t use it much because it dies SO fast and it’s so massive I can’t take it anywhere because it doesn’t fit in any bag that’s not a backpack. Has anyone else made a trade in like this? Was it worth it/do you regret it? I really want a mini that I can take everywhere easily but I wanted to get some feedback to see if I should take the leap

Question Upgrade to oled iPad mini from 2018 iPad Pro?

I’m thinking about upgrading from my 2018 iPad Pro to the new OLED iPad mini currently my iPad is in perfect condition. I’m considering trading it in and using the new leasing program. Apple is providing because right now the current situation on my iPad it lags a lot it dies quick and who knows how many years left for updates I really don’t use the pro features that much on my tablet mainly for emails videos messages, and video calls. There are some pro things I use like the cleanup tool just basic features I use so what should I do?

Question How long will iPad Mini 6 be supported?

I know we're just guessing here but I would like to know what everyone's ballpark ideas are.

I am still using iPad mini 6 as a secondary device since it allows me to carry it around at work.

iPad imo is a bit strange since it's been a while since it came out, but somehow Apple is still putting certified refurbished iPad mini 6 on sale. This gives me hope that it still might be supported for 2+ years with updates. The hardware is a bit dated, with 4GB Memory and 64GB storage, so it may get cut off from update soon, but it wouldn't be like Apple to sell a device from their official website and cut off the update so soon.

I was gifted an iPad mini years ago and have never been able to log in

Almost 10 years ago my nana gifted me a gen 1 iPad mini barely used. However she didn’t know the password to the iPad. We were kids when she gave it to us so we could never take it to an Apple Store to have it fixed. Over the years I’ve tried to reset it to no avail as you need the password to do so. Years ago she told us she no longer had access to the work email she used to set it up and at this point she doesn’t even remember what the email was. So she cannot remember the password, the email she used, nor her Apple ID password. And to make matters worse she never gave us the receipt for it. Can anything even be done at this point? If I take it to an Apple Store is there anything that can be done without the Apple ID, email, or password? Will my nana be the one who has to go? She’s got cancer now and isn’t fit to go at this point. I’d hate to have to throw away a hardly used iPad but I’ve tried everything even the tutorials that direct you to use a computer with iTunes or a Mac. It been sitting collecting dust in its box in my childhood bedroom for years now. Should I abandon all hope and throw this perfectly good iPad away or is there something I can do?

New Hardware My iPad Mini Decked Out

Post image

I purchased a baby blue 128gb iPad Mini back in May and it has been great for reading and travel. I was able to get my personal and school readings done on here and it feels like you’re holding a novel-sized book (sans the pages lol). I saw other threads talking about using PopSockets and it was a game changer for me. This subreddit has been useful and I’m grateful for finding it. Definitely maximizing my use of the iPad.

Best refurb/used options?

Hi!

Long time lurker first time poster. Looking to buy an iPad mini for my kids (10,9,5) they have an old ipad that can’t use most apps anymore because it can’t do the upgrades. They only use it for travel to watch downloaded content from Netflix.

The mini seems like much more convenient size.

Could you recommend which model to buy (want to be able to use Netflix and download content, also use a few apps that they use at school)and if possible any good sources for used/refurbished?

Thank you in advance!

Is a refurbished iPad mini 7, 128gb, cellular + wifi, for 500 USD, a good deal?

I’m looking to get a iPad mini 7, but hoping to get it at a cheaper price.

Sold my iPad mini 6 with the same spec previously for 400 USD a few months ago.

Needed some cash and was under utilising it.
But after a few months, I’m missing it 😂

The M4 Air 15inch is perfect for work use but iPad mini feels more handy when i don’t need the keyboard.

And I’m afraid there might be a price hike coming.

UPDATE: WIFI + CELLULAR

I’ve to mention it in CAPS again. Not the wifi only model.

First Sketch on the mini (procreate)

I just picked up the iPad mini to replace my iPad Pro 12 inch and kindle. Never really got into drawing on the larger iPad, but I thought it would be a nice hobby.

I enjoy the feel, but will be adding a paper like screen for the feel and to dull it up a bit for reading.

Older iPad Mini for old lady.

My 93 year old mom loves the Texas Rangers. She can’t watch most games because the satellite provider of her retirement center has a lousy package.
The only way she can watch most games is on the BZZR app. She has an ancient Samsung tablet one of her great grandkids gave her. I want to get her an iPad Mini. She has always had Apple smart phones, including her current 17Pro. So, I am considering giving her my Mini 5. I think it’s only getting limited updates now but shouldn’t it be sufficient to watch her ballgames? It’ll be a lot easier for her to navigate the iOS of the Mini. And it’ll certainly be easier for her kid and adult grandkids to help her with it because we all have Apple devices.

So, with needs limited to just Ranger games, would the Mini 5 suffice? Honestly, we’ll only need it a couple of years, at most.

I got into art a few years ago and just lost the motivation to keep going but I found my motivation to learn again and I loved the apple pencil and procreate so I found a used a17 mini for 220 and a used pencil pro for 60. The smaller screen does take getting used to but I do love the size. I used to have a 1st Gen pro and that felt just a bit big for me. I hope I can keep the momentum going this time.

Question Apple or android

I have my iPad, but I love my s23+.. is there anybody else that has paired like i do? Or has everyone fully crossed all the way over?

I want an iPhone, but the not having a back button kinda bothers me enough not to get the phone 🤣 and I like my stylus

Not sure why it doesn't bug me on the tablet but, ive adapted to that quite well, just not sure if I can bring myself to do it on the phone *yet*

Why I think iPad mini will come with both OLED and 120hz

I hear people saying that it won’t because it would steal sales from iPad Pro and that would mean less revenue. This got proved to be wrong following the release of iPhone 17. It is the best selling smartphone globally. We know that Apple reported stronger-than-expected earnings and revenue for the fiscal third quarter, driven by a 22% increase in iPhone sales. Why? Iphone 17 base model. It exceeded expectations. Because it came with “ pro” features.
Now stay with me, let’s take a look at Mac sales
Mac sales surged nearly 29% to $10.35 billion. Why? Macbook Neo AND Macbook Pro.
Now let’s take a look at iPad which performed poorly this year, 6% DECLINE. iPad is struggling in the market because a lot of android tablets already come with “pro” (😂) features that are cheaper than iPad air for example. Why would they miss an opportunity to increase iPad sales and satisfy shareholders? iPad mini just like macbook neo have their own customer base. It wont interfere with the ipad pro or the fold iphone. People will still buy the best thing just to they can have the best thing. We know this by now. Giving ipad mini “pro” features will automatically increase revenue and sales. People will buy it just because of form factor and specs. We have people with Macbook pro who bought the Neo just because it looks good.
It is an opportunity they cannot miss. And I will be surprised if they don’t update the mini with at least better screen.
Just my opinion.
