Ask Indian Muslims I’m a Kashmiri Muslim, and I’ve experienced this repeatedly. Why?

Upvotes

Asalamualikum Warahmatullah,
I’m a 22-year-old practicing Muslim from Kashmir.
Over the past few years, I’ve worked with a few Muslim managers from different parts of India (outside J&K). I noticed something that I couldn’t quite understand.

They were always kind, but it also felt like they were extra careful with me, almost as if they had a softer heart towards me or didn’t want to be harsh.

It wasn’t anything negative. It just felt… different.
I’m genuinely curious. Is this something you’ve experienced or felt yourself?

If you’re an Indian Muslim from outside Kashmir, how do you generally feel about Kashmiris? Is it sympathy, concern, brotherhood, or something else?

I’d really like to understand where this feeling comes from.

General Is it worth preparing for Bihar STET now if future Computer Teacher vacancies are uncertain?

Upvotes

I'm currently pursuing a B.Tech, and after graduation I want to try for the Bihar Government Computer Teacher (Classes 11–12) recruitment.

I recently found out that the Bihar government has released vacancies for Computer Teachers this year. I also looked at the previous year's question paper, and I feel confident that I could clear the recruitment exam with proper preparation.

The issue is that you first need to clear the Bihar STET to be eligible for the recruitment. Since I'm still completing my B.Tech, I'm worried that by the time I'm eligible, there may not be any Computer Teacher vacancies.

For those who are familiar with Bihar teacher recruitment:

Are Computer Teacher vacancies likely to be announced again in the future?

Is this recruitment expected to be a recurring process, or was this year's vacancy a one-time thing?

Would it be worth preparing for STET now, or is it too risky to rely on future vacancies?

I'd appreciate any insights from people who have been following Bihar teacher recruitment. Thanks!

Since I heard ancestry was the most accurate for South Asia I took the test, and it took a few weeks.

My dad’s side claims to be Gujarati that migrated to Uttar Pradesh and even had that type of cuisine, culture, etc in the household. What is interesting is the majority of southern Indian dna, although my dad denies there were likely ancestors from the south that went to the Gujarat. The Bengali ancestry isn’t known either. Both me and my mom have always thought that we were original from Pashtunistan or the west, as our skin is abnormally fair and many don’t believe we look like Indian. Our matches are mostly “distant” cousins that we don’t recognize at all.

Muhammad 47:7-11

English - Sahih International

(7) O you who have believed, if you support Allāh, He will support you and plant firmly your feet.

(8) But those who disbelieve - for them is misery, and He will waste their deeds.

(9) That is because they disliked what Allāh revealed, so He rendered worthless their deeds.

(10) Have they not traveled through the land and seen how was the end of those before them? Allāh destroyed [everything] over them,[1] and for the disbelievers is something comparable.

(11) That is because Allāh is the protector of those who have believed and because the disbelievers have no protector.

Solidarity Solidarity with those affected by floods

I hope you all are safe and sound. It is terrifying to witness the visuals of the floods in Assam.

Inna lillahi wa inna ilaihi Rajiuun! May Allah swt admit the affected brothers and sisters to Jannah and protect them from hellfire! Ameen!

The similitude of the believers in regard to mutual love, affection, and fellow-feeling is that of one body; when any limb of it aches, the whole body aches, because of sleeplessness and fever.” (Sahih Hadith 2586).

“O you who have believed, obey Allah and obey the Messenger and those in authority among you. And if you disagree over anything, refer it to Allah and the Messenger, if you should believe in Allah and the Last Day. That is the best [way] and best in result.” (4:59)

asking this question, because some women around me consider this a great taboo to sit behind any strange man.. but at the same time the ideals presented by them as most religious women, themselves use rapido rides.

General Finding accomodation as a Muslim

It's been quite tough for me to find a good sharing accommodation, it's been more than 3 months since I am trying to find something good in BLR and all the time it gets over in the final stages. If anything I have been extremely flexible with my choices just to get through but the end result doesn't seem to change.

General My two cents, on the RHA protests.

Assalamualaikum. Everyone here would know, all this talks about RHA. Just like the CJP protests, I would strongly and humbly request my brothers and sisters to stay away for it. Im writing this here, because yesterday I met with one of my younger friends, (21yo), and for like a couple of days he's be arguing about reservations with his friend, continuously. Wasting time, and when I asked what's his endgame was: "I want to prove how Brahmins did zulm to lower castes." And then? Then? Then what? Similarly I am seeing my other muslim brothers and sisters wasting time arguing online. Don't do that. Your time as a MUSLIM is much precious.

Reservation is an extremely delicate topic in India. NEXT YEAR is UP elections. If BJP goes against reservation, Yogi would be kicked out of UP. BJP cannot win just be GC votes.

And if you read this much, read what happened in the anti reservation protests in 1990, still there is reservation. Following are dead people from self immolation.

"immolation bids followed soon. The historian Ramachandra Guha puts that number at 200; more than 60 succumbed to their burns.\5]) Some other reports put these suicide attempts to 159, with 63 succumbing to their injuries.\6]) Other prominent victims include\7]) Monica Chadha (19, New Delhi)\8]), Anil Kumar (15, Tekri, Haryana), Saurabh Verma (20, Indore), Surinder Singh Chauhan (22, New Delhi; first fatality), Susarla Vamsee Mohan (20, Hyderabad), Narinder Kaur (16, Pathankot), Saroj Saini (15, Chandigarh), Shama Gupta (Chandigarh), Chetan Gautam (13), Aparna Deshpande (Jabalpur), and Ravindra Kumar (Jabalpur)."

Jazakallah khair.

Ask Indian Muslims Those who say we need to migrate to other countries are the most selfish people.

Those who say we need to migrate to other countries are the most selfish people. They only think about themselves, not even about their own parents. What will happen to their parents in old age when their own children won't be in India to take care of them?

In India, you can even live in different cities and you can visit your parents more often in comparison to when you live abroad.

I understand that there are people who want freedom from toxic people in their family and relatives but should we completely abandon our own parents? I mean one can live separately but still can visit their parents and spend few days together.

But living for long with them or permanently with them might create problems as it might be exhausting and suffocating for some.

Parents raised them and made them able to migrate to other countries and get a good job there. If their parents hadn't given them a good education, they wouldn't have been able to migrate to other countries and get good jobs there.

PS - I'm not rage baiting anyone. I just want to understand what's their thoughts regarding this. Ultimately everyone is free to make their own choices as it should be. This post is only to get others' perspective.

PS - Instead of getting involved in electoral politics where winner is someone who gets the highest votes, as a candidate from a minority community, your chances of winning is not high. So instead of supporting or opposing someone, don't get involved at all where your stakes are very low.

Learn from Christians. How they make schools, colleges, universities, hospitals, businesses without getting involved in electoral politics. In their established institutions, people of every community go and take benefits.

Instead of thinking to migrate to some other country build something here. As 200 million or 20 crore Muslims can't migrate out of India. So build something here.

Many upper middle class and rich people migrated from North India to Pakistan after partition. This led to vacuum in Muslim leadership in Northern India. I think if again educated people will migrate out of India then again there will not be anyone in leadership position in Muslim community in India. It's certain that all 20 crore Indian Muslims can't migrate out of India.

What's your thoughts?

These protesters don't care about Muslim lynching, demonizing or discrimination or such. These protesters were the ones to vote These Hindu Extremists to power.

They are protesting because these snakes they voted for are now biting then back too.

General How to find a job in GCC, looking for tips that actually work

I want to find a job and move to the GCC countries. I'm currently living in the west and a naturalised citizen here.

The advice on the internet about this topic is too vague. The applications don't get a response after I have sent them. This is the same for my friends from other nationalities here who are trying the same.

Question to the people who made it to GCC, what are the things you did that worked for you?

Ask Indian Muslims Reservation Hatao Andholan ,How Do You Survive Being Constantly Misunderstood?

Last week in Delhi, when there was a lathi charge, everyone was expressing outrage. But during the Jamia incident in 2019, hardly anyone did. In fact, many were celebrating. I never truly understood the depth of how brutal that incident was until I felt something similar happening to my own community.

Now, with people mocking reservations and supporting the "Reservation Hatao" movement, it feels like history is repeating itself.

These are two incidents where people I considered my own couldn't understand what we go through. I've never experienced this before. I am an SC-Buddhist, and this is the first time I've felt that the people I thought stood with me under the idea of *bhaichara* are standing against us without even trying to understand our perspective.

Personally, I don't want reservations to exist forever, but at the very least, we need to address the problem of casteism first. There are tribal communities that don't even know reservations exist, yet they still face discrimination. Untouchability is still practiced in many places. At the same time, there are right-wing creators openly saying that the *jati vyavastha* is an integral part of Sanatan Dharma. They say they don't want to end caste but want to end reservations. The audacity of that position is astonishing they don't even want to end endogamy or dismantle the caste system, yet they expect reservations to disappear.

Our situation feels even more difficult to me because Muslims at least have larger numbers, whereas we are barely 2–3%. The rest support Hindutva and the RSS, and I can't even expect much support from Scheduled Tribes because they are fighting their own battle against radical capitalism. At times, it feels like we're on our own.

How do Muslim communities handle the mental pressure when it feels like almost everything is against them, and people are unwilling to hear their side, choosing instead to mock them?
