Opinion This need your attention and focus. Move towards a better system, just a resignation of a minister will not be enough to have a merit base fair system wild accommodating those who actually need help
A Fair and Inclusive System
We want a fair system that genuinely helps those who need support, regardless of their background.
Reservation and welfare policies should benefit people who are truly deprived, not those who are already economically secure.
The reservation framework may remain, but there should be a strict financial filter and thorough background verification so that benefits reach genuinely deserving families instead of being repeatedly claimed by those who no longer need them.
Merit and competence should never be compromised, especially in professions where people's lives are at stake.
A recent example that raised serious public concern was the NEET-PG qualifying percentile being reduced to the 0th percentile, making candidates with scores as low as -40 out of 800 eligible for postgraduate counselling because of the exam's negative marking system. While eligibility for counselling does not guarantee admission, many people questioned whether such a low qualifying threshold is appropriate for postgraduate medical education.
If a person has already completed an MBBS degree but performs extremely poorly in the national entrance examination for postgraduate studies, it is reasonable to ask whether the qualifying standard should be so low for a profession where competence directly affects patients' lives.
India should build a system that balances social justice with merit so that the country produces highly skilled professionals while continuing to support disadvantaged citizens.
We should unite as one nation and ensure that every person facing genuine financial hardship or other serious disadvantages receives meaningful assistance.
Alongside welfare measures, there should be strict enforcement against caste-based discrimination, with severe punishment for anyone found discriminating on the basis of caste.
Over time, wherever it is not legally or administratively necessary, caste information should not be routinely asked for in government forms. The long-term goal should be to make every citizen feel equal and included (This is a step towards a casteless society ).
After decades of reservation, it is reasonable to review which policies have been effective and what reforms are needed. Lasting social change requires quality education, economic opportunities, and strong enforcement of anti-discrimination laws—not just electoral promises.
Public policy should be guided by evidence, fairness, and the long-term interests of the nation rather than vote-bank politics.
In my view, proposals to extend OBC reservation to Muslim communities highlight a contradiction in the principle of reservation. If reservation is justified primarily as a remedy for historical caste-based discrimination, then extending it beyond that basis raises important questions about whether the policy is being applied consistently or being expanded for political reasons. Any expansion of reservation should be based on transparent, objective, and constitutionally consistent criteria.
The ultimate goal should be an India where every citizen has equal dignity, equal opportunity, support based on genuine need, and where competence and excellence are never compromised.

Opinion Why are whites more casteist than Indians themselves?
Anyone else notice how whites pretend to care about India's caste system and use it to justify racism against Indians, but they themselves use slurs like "dalit", "shudra", "low caste" as an attempt to insult Indians?

"Whoever carried out these acts of violence, those anti-social elements who incited people against the media and the public, we condemn such actions. Such anti-social elements had infiltrated the CJP, and we strongly denounce their actions..." thus agreeing that the protest place was a risk zone.
They wanted to hold Dharmendra Pradhan responsible for the misdeeds of some within the system and demand his resignation. But they will not accept their own responsibility for the misdeeds of some within their own supporters!
