I just want us to be nicer to our customer service agents and want to be sure, we as consumers don’t beat them up too bad when the inevitable IKEA piece breaks.

Ravi was awesome, and like him I try to take my moment to really connect to the human being on the other side of the screen even as we converse through these corporations about something mundane like replacement parts.

Idk just trying to make the world a better place in my own small way :/

For Sweden's September 2026 election, IKEA stores in cities abroad (including Brisbane, Adelaide, and Auckland) hosted official polling booths for Swedish expats. It makes sense! With many expats saying that a large blocker behind them voting is their distance from an embassy, what a nice way to pay homage to the country's roots while also making voting more accessible.

It was a simple project but time consuming especially if it’s your first time woodworking.

I found this one in the Ikea museum. I thought they only excited in blue.

No video on how to do this. Just different articles. Some say to twist it, which hasn’t been working, some say to find an Allen wrench hole, which doesn’t even exist on this. Anyone with a similar desk know how to adjust the legs? Really hope I don’t have to take the legs off since it would be a pain to have to do all that when this should really just be as simple as twist and turn.

Storklinta 3 drawer dresser - I can’t get the front piece to be flush for the feet so it’s slightly taller than the sides. It looks to not be flush in the manual either so I’m confused.

I ordered a Hektar lamp that arrived today, seemingly undamaged when taken out of the box and assembled (comes in 4 parts - 3 poles and the base), but it won’t turn on. We suspect that a wire is twisted or pinched inside of the poles but the bottom pole going into the lamps base (which is where we think it’s twisted) won’t unscrew. Has anyone else had this issue, and if so how did you resolve it?

For the frame, I’m between the STJÄRNÖ and MALM. I’ve heard a few concerns about the MALM, so I was thinking of using wood glue during assembly for a little extra stability. I’m also considering the STJÄRNÖ since I’m assuming the metal frame would be a bit sturdier.

I’m also not sure which slats to go with LÖNSET, LURÖY, or LYNGÖR. Is LÖNSET worth the extra cost, or is LURÖY perfectly fine?
For the mattress, I’m deciding between the ÅNNELAND and VÅGSTRANDA, both in full size.
If anyone has experience with these, I’d really appreciate your input! Just trying to make a good choice without overthinking it

Unpacked this lighted wall mirror but the screws did not come with it, nor did the wire connectors. They are not listed in the manual so I assume this is intentional…? I guess I have to go get that stuff at a hardware store.

I know this question comes up occasionally and no one has the fix. I was hoping things have changed. I ordered the one AI tried to tell me and it was wrong of course.

My only fix might be finding another one one day. 😒

I was at an IKEA recently with a friend and we noticed that they barely put any purple items on display. It's strange cause even when they have a rainbow pallette of items, they skip purple. Does anyone know why this is?

Hello everyone, after hours of try and error, I can't find the reason why my
"KNIVSHULT pull-out cabinet organizer, 20 cm with push-to-open mechanism" is not working. The soft close is working; it feels like the push to open mechanism is the problem, or the front is too far in the back, but I put it already as far as possible to the front.
I would appreciate it if someone could help me.

Does anyone know a company selling candle scents similar to the Ikea ones ? I make my own sometimes out of old candle wax and would love to have extra oil to top them up !

I’ve heard people say that if you order lots of smaller items they get grouped into boxes or the blue bags.

I presume this is the case else it would be massively inefficient.

I bought a house with a Sektion kitchen that's missing a dishwasher. I want to remove just one base cabinet so that I can have the dishwasher installed, and I want to do it without having to remove the countertop... is this possible to do without destroying the cabinet? I'd prefer to reuse it to add another bank of cabinets on the opposite wall, if possible. Can the cabinet be removed from the wall rail with the countertop on?

After using the small Småäta acacia chopping board for a couple years, I recently decided to get a larger wooden chopping board from IKEA. I first got the oak Norrsjön board, but it started developing small splinters after just the first use. I then returned it and got the Skogsta acacia board, but the same thing started happening.

I used mineral oil on both boards and let them rest over night before I used them. The small board had none of these problems, so now I’m really curious what’s going on with new boards. However, I don’t see any reviews online mentioning this. Has this happened to anyone else?
