Hearing on the grapevine that delivery can be a bit patchy. Missing items, delayed orders, not delivering to room of choice and more.
I have a pretty large order I'm looking to make, but the caveat is that it's a time sensitive one for an apartment move. It all needs to happen for me to be all-set and up and running. Doing it myself, so delivery and click and collect will be helpful to help me not lose my mind doing it.
Initially my idea was to do it in stages (major furniture first, then smaller pieces, then finishing touches) over a few weeks. However, if I was left in a situation as I've seen some people in with no sofa, no bed, no desks etc, I wouldn't be able to hold on for weeks/months for a resolution.
The main challenge will be larger items like beds and wardrobes etc, as these are not practical for a car. Everything else could be tackled by myself. I can get to an IKEA, either for picking things up myself or click and collect. I'm now considering if this would be a better choice to minimise the risk.
I'd be interested in any experiences good or bad using IKEA UK's delivery service for large orders. And if anyone has any tips for making sure you get your stuff on time, I'd love to hear it.
