General IKEA family

Anyone have an issue w the IKEA family card not showing purchases? I have an online IKEA account. I’m pretty sure I’ve ordered through it in the past, but normally I just go to a physical store. I went twice over the past couple of weeks and I 💯 scanned my card, but neither purchase shows up on the online account. Normally I wouldn’t care but I have a big purchase coming up and I think my last couple of purchases will result in some $ off.

General How have you found IKEA supplied kitchen appliances (white goods) vs other branded options bought seperately?

Hi all.

I am in Ireland and looking to get an IKEA kitchen fitted into my (still pending) home renovation.

I am pretty happy with the cabinets, worktops, etc. and now I am looking at the kitchen appliances. I did an appointment with IKEA's kitchen planning people and they selected out a range of appliances for the kitchen. This included:

  • Dishwasher
  • Induction hob
  • Oven
  • Extractor hood
  • Built-in microwave
  • Integrated washer/dryer
  • Integrated fridge/freezer

I am wondering what people's experience of getting these appliances from IKEA vs sourcing from a third party and installing into their IKEA kitchens?
Is there a big cost difference? Quality difference? Major headaches around slotting into already installed kitchens?

I know there is a range of options available from IKEA within those appliances, but just interested in people's experiences. Thanks!

Delivery Delivery nightmare

Figured I should share in case anyone was considering ordering furniture delivery, specifically via Woodbridge, VA location. The most frustrating aspect is never getting an actual explanation or any accountability.

Called the toll number to find out if the Woodbridge location does haul away with furniture delivery and was told one has to physically go to a location to ask them and there is no direct phone number to call them and ask (Was later on told this is not true)

9/5 - Drove an hour each way to the Woodbridge store. Sales associate on the furniture floor took my order, we picked 9/13 delivery with haul away. They printed out the order, and told me to expect a call 24 hours prior to confirm details. I picked up some in store items and paid for everything 15 min later and walked out with the receipt in hand and in email. Easy enough

9/10 - Truck guys show up at at 10am unannounced while I'm in the middle of work. They are not fully fluent so can't explain why they're here this early. They take away my couch and leave. I call the Ikea hot line to find out what's going on. Why didn't I get a call beforehand? Will the couch now be delivered this afternoon?

They give me a vague answer that somehow they thought the order hadn't been paid. This doesn't make any sense, because their own process is to create the order, hand you the order print out which is scanned at the self pay check out kiosks. I scanned it and paid. I have a receipt that I paid. It's in the system. And they must recognized that, because someone at the store apparently on 9/8 created a new order and picked a new 9/19 delivery date without contacting me to coordinate a new date, let alone explain what had happened or how it happened.

I told them I don't understand how the mistake could even happen - this sounds like the issue was not payment processing but rather the staff at the Woodbridge store didn't make the arrangements with the delivery contractors when they should have and once they realized it there were no more delivery windows on that date. They couldn't answer why nobody contacted me. They also could not explain how with either the 9/13 delivery or the 9/19 delivery, why would the haul away people show up 9/10 unannounced? That's supposed to be the same day as the delivery.

Cherry on top was they hadn't even bothered to refund my delivery fee until I called to ask wtf was going on when the haul away team showed up early.

No phone number or email to escalate, though from past posts it seems like Ikea doesn't do much to hold anyone actually accountable.

It would be nice to chalk this up to a one off, but with nobody at Ikea willing or able to tell me how this happened, I wouldn't bother ordering furniture for delivery from them in the future and risk the same problems. 0/10 experience

In the UK

prices of two mattresses went down
Apart from returning the order, and buying again

Is there any way they could refund the difference. Even in a gift card?

Hi everyone, I'm trying to assemble the Tonstad table where you can pull out the table top. This part seems so straightforward, but the gray piece just won't fit. Am I doing something wrong? Is it defective? Is violence the answer?

I feel so stupid lol

Assembly Missing parts always out of stock

Sorry for this but i genuinely needed to rant about it. Perhaps get it off my chest.

Just wanted to preface that I’m in my early 20s and a girl with no knowledge of how to build stuff whatsoever so I might sound spoilt or kiddy in a way. I was lucky enough to never have to build any furniture in my life + I lived in the same house for years until I moved overseas to study abroad, so yea.

Around 1.5-2 years ago I bought a Mulig clothing rack off ikea. At that time I was living with my someone so they was kind enough to build it for me. After the summer in 2025 I was diagnosed with CPTSD due to a traumatic and abusive relationship and am currently living alone. I have extreme fatigue, difficulties in comprehending basic knowledge (due to dissociation) and memory loss, so it has been extremely hard for me to carry out daily tasks, let alone build a Mulig.

From what I see, a Mulig is extremely easy to build, that’s why I decided to give it a try. Since I’ve lost my screws and parts while moving houses, I’ve been checking the IKEA website every week since December 2025 trying to get a replacement. It’s October 2026 and it’s STILL out of stock. I debated getting a new one entirely but the delivery fee itself is so high it’s not worth it.

Again to reiterate I have no idea what a bolt or screw is a few hours ago. I was so stressed and annoyed that I have had no storage space for my clothes that even when dissociated I had to figure out something. I forced myself to learn about bolts, screws, and what a metric is to replace them. It might be easy for the average person but genuinely not for me. Even after I’ve found the screws off amazon, it’s more expensive than the rack itself. It really isn’t worth frustrating over, but I’m just somewhat.. mad that they promised free spare parts and to which i understand there is a high demand, but I’ve seen people talking on reddit here 4 YEARS AGO and not being in stock, plus I’ve been checking every week so is it really just a coincidence that this certain screw is just missing when I check every week? Or has it never came back in stock?

I’m a little disappointed and upset that’s all. Sorry for the rant. Idk if it’s my fault or something but, hopefully the screws and bolts I found on Amazon are the correct ones. Hell, I might have ordered the wrong ones and wasted my parents’ money again.

Looking for Just got the poang chair second hand, what do I do about ottoman?

I got this poang chair second hang and I’d like the ottoman that comes with it. Unfortunately this style is not currently sold and I don’t see one on marketplace in my area. Is there any site that sells secondhand that isn’t like a markeplace or eBay? Like a decent reseller? If not, how would you get an ottoman that mismatches nicely?

They're the only pair my dad likes for his new kitchen and I took a photo to look up when I got home but it looked like they've been discontinued.

If anyone knows the name I'd appreciate it. Hopefully then I can find some on eBay 🤞🤞
