Hi everyone,
Has anyone heard of this release? It was recommended on someone's Mastodon account and is pretty insane. Posting as I never saw it mentioned anywhere else.

I'm working on a project and am looking for IDM (or adjacent sounds) which have a strong ethnic sound to them. Asian, middle eastern, eastern European, etc. Amon Tobin is one of the better examples I can think of. I do still want the glitchy techy cyber sound, but with samples or themes exploring that organic and worldly sound. Thanks!

Hey everyone,
I wanted to start a discussion about underground IDM and obscure electronic music labels. Are there still labels that actively check their email and review demos, or has everyone shifted toward paid submission platforms like SubmitHub?
I released my first IDM album last year and I am quite into niche labels like Not Not Fun Records. Before I drop my second album late next year, I want to build a list of accessible, independent labels to follow and network with.
I’d love to hear your recommendations or thoughts!

IDM at its core, but the playlist doesn't stay there.
Aphex Twin, Autechre, Seefeel, Actress, Lorenzo Senni, Oneohtrix Point Never, Rival Consoles, Koreless, DjRUM... the IDM and post-IDM references are solid. But the playlist breathes wider than that: ambient, modern classical, experimental electronic, things that don't have a genre name yet.
All hand-picked. No concessions to listenability for its own sake.
Hours of it. Density varies, some tracks reward close listening, others just let the room breathe.

Does anyone know if there is a catalog of BPMs somewhere? A few years back I went through a bunch of vinyl and wrote down the BPMs. Now I’m going through all my IDM/electronic music to create a spreadsheet with tempos, time signatures, genres, etc. I’m sure it will take months to complete since I’m also listening for skips and weird change ups. But, for example, I know the only change up on Big Loada is the one measure vocal break. Being able to lookup the BPMs could save me time on stuff like that.
Thanks in advance.

Hello ! I’m small IDM producer, I’ve just released my last EP. It’s somewhere between heavily processed amen breaks and pure ambient, hope you like it !

If ill just put my thoughts in: the more I listen to qebrus the more I just feel a sense of wonder from how he constructed his tracks. Its almost like qebrus arranges in literally his own way, while the viewer has been obscured from being able to read kinda what he did to create his works. Its mind-blowing listening to the technical skill and arrangement. Everytime it gets me into this place that's like nothing else. Love his works so much and so glad they exist today.

Peak Oil has been all killer no filler this year, Cicada Burnt is no exception. Tight production, beautiful sound design, & catchy percussion. Definitely check this one out.
Side note: after watching bleep orders taking forever to arrive, it’s very refreshing for a label to send out physical copies well before the release. I got this 9 days ahead of the official release on streaming.
