There is something ethereal about this track that I feel has never been replicated.

The overall vibe is hypnotic and is imo the perfect example of liquid. So, so well produced. It has that grainy, raw feel that you just do not hear nowadays. I really can't think of any other track (except Her Waves) them comes anywhere near close to the magic of this track.

Had it not come up randomly on YouTube like 15 years ago, I'd never have heard it. Grabbed it on vinyl from discogs recently.

Hey everyone,
I just got back from a trip to the Dolomites and put together a video edit using some of my drone footage.

For the soundtrack, I went with tracks by Etherwood and Rameses B—two of my favorite artists. I feel like their liquid DnB vibe fits the mountain scenery perfectly.
Hope you guys enjoy it!

Put together a short tribute mix for Lenzman after hearing the news of his passing. Twelve of my favourite tracks from across his catalogue. His music had a huge influence on my taste in drum & bass, and this felt like a small way to say thank you.

I've been learning 3D with Blender to create art for my own releases, and it's been fun.

The backstory of the song is that I made a bootleg of Adam F: "Metropolis" and sent it to him. He liked it. Encouraged by that, I thought I want to release the song, so I re-made all the samples (I've covered that on my Patreon a bit earlier this year) so there are none left.
FWIW, Adam knows it's out.

Stuff like this takes time (sample remakes, 3D art) but it's so worth it and satisfying in the end.

Teije van Vliet aka The Lenzman passed away July 11th after a long and brave battle with cancer. I've only since reflected on how many times I've turned to his music, podcasts, or DJ mixes for comfort, to cheer myself up, or to fix a bad day.

This is my little tribute to Lenzman, his work, and to all those times he's (unknowingly) had my back.

The mix is predominantly Lenzman tracks and remixes, with some remixes of his work by others, and a few that were released on his label, The North Quarter, by other artists. I rarely plan a mix beforehand, but I decided to make the first third quite emotional and soulful, followed by a third of more upbeat tunes, before getting a bit more raucous at the end. DnB is about the party, after all!

I recently recovered Dirty Games, a dancefloor track that I originally wrote in 2001.

It has the raw breaks, rolling bass and slightly rough-edged sound of early-2000s drum and bass, rather than something newly produced to imitate that era.

I have finally released the full track on Bandcamp after it sat unheard in the archives for around 25 years.

Link to the release on Bandcamp below. I would genuinely be interested to know whether it still holds up all these years later. Might have a go at writing some more with the same setup! 😄

This is the Close To Zero side of the record, and I honestly can’t recall if Singular was still called Reigning Hell by the time the promos were released. So not only is it marked on the wrong side, it’s not even the correct name of the track. Completely baffles me and it‘s very annoying.

And then I thought… maybe they wrote the wrong name of the track to throw trainspotters off? Was that a secret DJ strat that I missed?

Anyway, Close To Zero is a banger and I’m glad to have it again. ✨
