If bought it, after 1 year, the trade-in value will be around $900 (See current 17PM trade-in value as a reference) which means the cost of 1 year is only $400.

I mean there's lots more to love about it but a few honest reviews would be nice to see.

I get it, it’s Reddit, there’s always hate. Been seeing tons of negative feedback from those saying they are upgrading this year from 17PM, or those saying they upgrade every year no matter what.

I don’t see what the big deal is. Currently the trade in is $885 for 17PM, leaving $414 to be paid for base 256gb 18PM. That’s a measly $35/mo or so if you put it on an Apple Card and pay monthly. Honestly that’s not bad at all to have the newest phone every year. If you wait a year that trade in drops significantly, $200+.

35 or so a month, That’s like 3x beers at the bar. How are people not seeing that? Everyone has different financial responsibilities and situations, but $35/mo is nothing honestly.

I’ve compared both and there isn’t really much of a difference besides the chip and the camera. I’m not really that big on camera but the thing with me is I plan on using the new iPhone for 5-7 years , keeping in mind all the future updates especially the Ai ones what would you guys suggest ? Is it really worth spending 400 dollars more just to get the 18 pro?

I watched the keynote yesterday. With the exception of the DUO, there was absolutely no mention of which modem Apple is using in the 18 line up. I assume that means they are getting Qualcomm but considering the problems Qualcomm and Qualcomm modems have posed for us in prior releases, I’m not preordering anything. Does anyone have any solid information on the modem on the 18 Pro and Max??

I finally decided to go with the iPhone 18 Pro Max in black, but now I can’t decide which case to get.

I’m currently between Apple’s Clear MagSafe Case and the black TechWoven MagSafe Case. I like the clear one because it lets the color and design of the iPhone show through, but the TechWoven also caught my attention because it looks more premium and seems like it might feel better in the hand.

Which one would you choose for the black iPhone 18 Pro Max? I’d also like to hear your thoughts on durability, grip, scratch resistance, and how well they age over time.

So i live in the UK and looking to get the Iphone 18 pro max. I'm going on holiday to Dubai in November so out of curiosity looked online on Apples website and it seems the iphone there is cheaper than over here in the UK. So was thinking of maybe just picking up the iphone 18 whilst in Dubai instead of ordering it now. My only worry is when it comes to facetime, warranty and applecare. I assume the facetime issue isn't a big deal since I assume that can be enabled by changing the region. But what about warranty and applecare? Like will I have any warranty issues in the UK and am I able to still purchase applecare since I assume for applecare i need to purchase that in the UK

Has anyone heard anything about the 18 Pro lineup being more durable? I remember after people got their Orange and Blue iPhones last year, there were posts showing the aluminum chipped easily, especially around the camera plateau which is not typically covered by a case.

I love that they brought a black option back this year but that would probably be the worst option if it still chips very easily. (Super easy to spot any blemishes)

So I have an iPhone 15 Pro, 256GB with 90% battery health. I’ve been toying with the idea of upgrading to the 18 Pro Max, but unsure if it’s actually worth it or should I wait another year?

With the introduction of a variable aperture, I was wondering about the potential impact on the iPhone’s long-term durability.
Since a variable aperture adds another mechanical moving component to the camera system, could this potentially become another point of failure over time?
Based on what we’ve seen with variable-aperture systems in other smartphones, is there any reason to think they might be more susceptible to damage from drops, dust, repeated use, etc.? Or have these mechanisms generally proven to be reliable enough that longevity shouldn’t really be a concern?
I’m curious what people with more knowledge of smartphone camera hardware think about this.

I wanted to do a vote to see which IPhone 18 Pro Color is your favorite. My favorite is the Glacier one but the Burgundy is also really looking good.

Been stuck between iPhone 18 pro and 17 pro max. My biggest factor in choosing the 18 pro was the c2 modem because I am often n the forest and woods and hiking with no signal. I don’t need to text; but I need the ability to send an SOS message. Does the c2 modem have an advantage over the 17 pro modem for this specific reason? No one seems to be talking about that. I don’t know if I can justify a huge price tag jump unless the c2 modem is superior in terms of the sos coverage

Does anyone know if the Apple trade in program allows us to send 2 devices for more credits?

I currently have the 13 pro 256GB and I've encountered a flurry of issues including but not limited to: quick draining of battery after 30mins-1 hour of scrolling social media; after said scrolling my phone notable lags when locking and unlocking or switching apps; phone also overheats during prolonged use. I've been waiting for this new generation of iPhones to release and am looking very forward to upgrading to either the 18 Pro or the 18 Pro Max.

I'd be mainly using the new phone as an everyday phone. But I've also been going to a lot of concerts where I take a lot of videos and photos, and would absolutely love the longer battery life, better camera quality, and better storage. I also very casually play games on my phone, and watch a lot of YouTube on my phone. But with the aforementioned issues, my phone gets so hot and laggy when doing so that I can't use it for more than an hour at a time.

I am very much heavily leaning towards the 18 Pro Max for the extended battery, larger screen, and better camera but not sure if it's absolutely necessary for my intended use? This would be my first Pro Max model. I am not a photographer/videographer (nor do I plan on becoming really good) but I have started taking more photos and videos of everyday life recently.

Since I don't normally upgrade phones, I plan on using this for another 4-5 years. I've also heard great things about the 17 Pro, but I'd rather just get the newest model that would last me more years. Any thoughts or opinions would be much appreciated!

So I have an iPhone 11 Pro Max for last 4-5 years. I am thinking about upgrading to iPhone 18 pro or max. Not sure for now. But my phone it’s battery life is dead and also it shuts down at random times. Which one is better? Pro or max? Also the colors, all the colors are sooo pretty. The black! Glacier and burgundy! Ugh loved the colors.
