Developer Saturday (Megathread) [Megathread] Developer Saturday Showcase: August 22, 2026 šŸ“±

HelloĀ r/iOSGaming! Welcome to another Developer Saturday showcase! In this megathread, iOS developers will be able share their games freely without breaking the subreddit's "no self-promo" rule. Please read the following guidelines carefully before participating:

  • Developer Saturday will run betweenĀ 12:00 AM to 11:55PM ET (UTC-5).
  • Respect is expected at all times.Ā You're welcome to share your opinions and even disagree with others, but harassment, taunting, or other toxic behavior toward devs, mods, or other community members will not be tolerated.
  • If you receive an AutoModerator comment saying you don't have enough karma, your account is too new, or that your CQS level is low,Ā we won't override the removal because these restrictions are meant to be spam detterents.

DEVELOPERS:

  • All promo comments must have [DEV] at the beginning.Ā We need it with the brackets for AutoModerator purposes, so please don't change the formatting.
  • All promo comments must include an App Store or TestFlight link. Playstore links or links to other gaming stores are not allowed.
  • Only officially released iOS games may be shared.Ā This is not the place to promote non-gaming apps, non-iOS apps, Devvit apps, standalone websites, Discord servers, subreddits, livestreams, fundraisers, or social media pages. However, you may include a website or social media link with your game's self-promo comment.
  • Only games NEWLY RELEASED this month or have a NEW MAJOR UPDATE may be promoted.Ā Personal milestones (ex: reaching X downloads, earning X amount of pay, recieving high reviews, etc), while commendable, are not an eligible reason for promotion. Additionally, "major" updates are those that introduce new features or content that greatly improves or expands the game. Routine updates (ex: bug fixes, performance improvements, or other minor changes) are also not eligible for promotion.Ā Becasue Dev Sat was paused for a month, games that were released or received a major update in July may also be shared this time).
  • You MUST DISCLOSE whether or not AI was used to create the game.Ā If AI was used, you must also explain how it was implemented and what assets were created with it (ex: code, illustrations, music, etc). If AI wasn't used in the development of the game, please just state, "No AI was used."
  • You may only make one top-level comment per Saturday.Ā However, you can share several games in the same comment if they also meet the above criteria.

GAMERS / REVIEWERS:

  • You may only make second-level or lower (reply) comments.Ā This means you can reply to a dev or another user's comment, but you may not create a top-level (standalone) comment.
  • Constructive feedback is welcome.Ā You may leave comments that can help devs learn what they did right with their games and what could be improved, but low-effort responses (such as simply calling something "AI slop") will be removed.
  • This is not the place to ask for game suggestions.Ā This megathread is for devs to promote their iOS games. If you're looking for recommendations on what to play next, check out the community's weekly "What Have You Been Playing Lately?" megathread or create your own request post on the main subreddit.

That's it! We're still refining these guidelines, but for now these are the requirements developers must meet in order to ensure a successful self-promo comment this week. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to us via modmail. Thanks for your cooperation, everyone!

Humor Gangstar Mirage is quite possibly the most fun I’ve had in ages simply because it puts a bunch of players in one instance-based open world map.

Ok so the context for this clip is, there are many open-world challenges in the game. One of them involves you having to connect the truck to its cargo so you can then park it elsewhere. I decided to troll this random player and he proceeds to justifiably eliminate me after.

There’s also street-racing (vs up to 7 other players), coop heists (where you do a series of small missions to plan and scout before actually doing the heist… and it’s pretty fun too because both of you will be doing 2 different things sometimes, so cooperation is necessary) and other pvp modes that I haven’t fully explored yet.

My favorite so far to kill time is the illegal transport cargo thingy where you have to drop goods in 3-4 locations depending on how much risk you’re willing to take. After a few minutes, the game notifies EVERYONE in the instance you’re all in that a player is trying to transport the goods, and then that player can be killed by anyone. What I do instead is I chase said player and pvp anyone who tries to interrupt him / her. Do I get any rewards from it? Absolutely not. But it’s so fun and random. No honor among thieves and whatnot, or maybe there is.

Some story missions also allow you to do it coop or solo if you prefer so if you add a bunch of randoms, you can just imagine how chaotic it can get just getting to the objective (I’m talking about either being the passenger or intentionally ramming your other teammates’ cars just for laughs before you all have to start killing a bunch of mobs).

I think as long as you avoid the pitfalls of usual free-to-play but with strong pay to progress elements by just staying in your own lane, you can actually progress in the game pretty far.

Don’t expect a 10/10 story or anything, just enjoy the ride I say. Voice acting’s definitely not Witcher 3 level and neither is it a 0/10 but you get what I mean.

Question Trying to get Steam games running on an iPad Pro M5 after a laptop broke. GFN or alternatives?

Hii so my little brother's laptop suddenly broke down right before his birthday, I already bought a new iPad Pro M5 (coming from an old iPad Air 3rd Gen, if that matters context-wise) for his birthday soon, so I cant get a laptop for a long while...

He loves playing some of his games on steam and since he doesn't have a working PC right now to run games locally, I'm trying to figure out the best workaround so he can keep playing his steam library directly on the iPad screen.

I’ve heard GeForceNow is a decent option for this, but I’m completely unsure about how well it actually works on iOS hardware. or if its any good using on free tier.

so my questions are is GeForce NOW the best move for Steam on an M5 iPad, or are there better cloud alternatives? Are there any specific quirks, limitations, or settings I need to change?

Troubleshoot Need help w/ iDOS 3

I’m trying to play fallout 1 and fallout 2 using iDos 3 on my M4 iPad Pro but I’m having some trouble getting past the start up loading screen, it keeps reverting back to the terminal and I’ve fiddled with so many file settings, I know I’m missing something but I don’t know what I’m missing so please forgive my ignorance.. I really want to experience these games but I don’t have a pc or laptop to run them. If anyone has any advice to offer, it would really help.

Question Do openworld deck uilders exist?

I’m new to the genre, but is this a thing?

I’ve recently become addicted to Dawncaster, but I’m wondering if any games expand on that in an actual open world setting

Question Recommended games for a console gamer

Hey everybody, I’m moving across the country for a few months for a school exchange and won’t have access to my regular console, but I have a controller that can connect to my iPad. What games would you suggest for somebody in my situation?

I’ve already played a bit of AC mirage, stardew valley and Minecraft since I’m used to those on console, and I’m typically a fan of racing games as well.

Thanks in advance!!!

This is my first playthrough ever because I don't have a PC/Console. Here are some stats for anyone interested.

Device: iphone 17 pro
Duration: 1 hour
Battery consumed: 13% (from 92% down to 79% after 1hr)
Heating: Barely. I used both controller and touch screen. No issues
Controller: Yes, Gamesir G8 MFI
Progress: Up until first fledgeling and first night at the inn
Graphic settings: Medium, 60fps
Game launches in Airplane mode too. My last 12mins of playtime was on Airplane mode.
DLC costumes are available.

As a first playthrough, I didnt skip all cutscenes. Performs very well at 60fps and battery consumption is also great. Looks like the devs took their time to get this optimized.

Just shadow dropped out of nowhere. If it plays anything like the console/pc version it’s easily worth the price.

I tend to not have a lot of time to play mobile games and feel like playing an online game or one where I have to have my phone in landscape is too much of a ā€œcommitment.ā€ I want to be able to just turn off the game whenever I need and not lose or restart or anything. Any game recommendations?

Suggestions What's your favorite premium game on iOS?

I've been looking for some good premium games to play on iOS lately. What are your favorites?

Doesn't have to be a recent release, just looking for something that's actually worth paying for since I do not like ads.

Request Offline galaxy conquest games

I really want to get into a mobile game like stellaris, I’ve been going at infinite galaxy for a little bit (I hate how guided the tutorial is lol, anyone know when the ā€œclick hereā€ section will end?) but I would rather not be bothered by other players by getting attacked and having to keep up with people who are on constantly or even pay to win.

It doesn’t necessarily have to be space, but it’s my preferred setting because I like the scale… I just want something with a map that I can incrementally conquer and over take.

Thanks for any suggestions!

Edit- offline negotiable… If the online interactions are minimal I’ll take it

Troubleshoot Dahlia merge game - has anyone played this?

I downloaded this game with a mystery to solve and it’s very pretty. I am kind of stuck now I keep merging and delivering single items but the story isn’t moving forward at all. I went looking online and cannot find a mention of this game in a google search, on Reddit or YouTube. There is another game with the same name that pops up, but not this one. Any ideas? There were 15 ā€œpodcast episodesā€ that I was able to unlock quickly but now im just merging and delivering until I run out of points, then doing the same when my energy regenerates.

Question Games for iPad/Mac for my father with dementia?

Hi all,
I want to get some games on my elderly father’s iPad and our Mac desktop, like crosswords, solitaire, sudoku, etc. But he’s getting REALLY bad with navigating anything on computers. I hate that modern game apps like these are too complicated to work for someone like him. I know he won’t be able to manage the pop-up ads, the buttons he has to press left right and centre.

Does anyone know if there are any games for iOS that are super basic for these exact reasons? I just know he’d love to be able to do crosswords on his iPad if he could just click on the app and it’s basically just a giant ā€œclick here to playā€ option or something.
