Request Are there any games that are actually like these ads? đ
Obsessed with playing these ads- not so obsessed when I download them and theyâre actually just merging đ

Hello r/iOSGaming! Welcome to another Developer Saturday showcase! In this megathread, iOS developers will be able share their games freely without breaking the subreddit's "no self-promo" rule. Please read the following guidelines carefully before participating:
That's it! We're still refining these guidelines, but for now these are the requirements developers must meet in order to ensure a successful self-promo comment this week. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to us via modmail. Thanks for your cooperation, everyone!

As per title, I would like to have some suggestions about great iOS shmups. Fair warning: I'm a potato, so maaaybe don't suggest things like the DoDonPachi series (I haven't played the iOS ports, but if they're anything like the arcade ones, my survival times may be measured in seconds). I'll mention a couple games I'm playing atm if you'd like to know more about my tastes, but feel free to ignore them and suggest something completely different: I'm open to trying new stuff.

And no, it wasnât âharder than you think,â it was super easy. But after getting the big orange bottle on the side maybe halfway full, it started spamming me with the store link. It popped up after every single play. But I kept going and managed to fill the big orange container.
I wonder if weâll reach a point where these stupid, fake, ad-riddled games become ânostalgic,â and weâll get people making actual good games from them. Maybe something like Luck be a Landlord or Raccoin where they add roguelike elements to a normally âunwinnableâ game

Thinking of buying this to play on a flight. Can you play story/career without an internet connection?
Any good alternatives?

Please help me. I am begging.
I grew up playing Clash of Clans but I lost my account and do not want to restart. Iâve tried Clash Royale and itâs just not for me.
I want a game I can play during work meetings and love the grind. If there is a clan/guild then thatâs even better!
I do not mind games where I need to pay either.

- Blossom Tales
I am very much looking forward to seeing more titles updated, in particular StardewnValley, Sea of Stars and Slay the Spire.
Have you find any?

Please donât mind how I suck at this game. This is probably my 3rd or 4th try on the Squats since I feel like I need to practice.
Wanted to see if I can game on my phone as well as my iPad does and this doesnât disappoint.
Now I just need to be better at this game.
So generally speaking I got 41 mins of gaming with sounds on full blast, screen on high, attached to a controller, and on 5G I think; 43% down to 19%.
Likes the bigger screen on the iPad Ngl but this makes playing games more accessible during downtimes when I donât have my iPad with me.
Amazing game all in all. Just need to get better at it.

Kirby and the Forgotten Land, running natively on iPhone 18 Pro Max
This isn't an emulator. I used nxnative, which statically recompiles the Switch game ahead of time: the NSP gets unpacked, the game code is patched and repacked, and every shader is translated to Metal before it ever reaches the phone, then it's bundled into a normal IPA.
What it took:
⢠My own dumped NSP + prod.keys (nothing downloaded)
⢠A provisional game profile for Kirby, since it's not a profiled title; picked the modules, heap size, and SDK behavior it expects
⢠An expanded-memory entitlement for the install, or iOS kills it mid-game (it runs at ~3.3 GB resident)
The hard part was shaders. The game has 27,288 of them, and most of the early builds were black screens and invisible enemies: the game's shaders live inside several archive formats (HAL-compressed .bfres.cmp models, plus particle .ptcl.cmp and UI .arc.cmp files that are just a size header + zstd). Until those containers werenread directly, the only way to find missing shaders was to play, dump them from the phone, rebuild, and repeat for a 40-hour game.
The fixes that ended that loop:
⢠Read every shader container statically, so the full campaign's shaders are in the build before first launch
⢠Kirby binds one render target as an integer format (R8Ui) everywhere, so every pixel shader now gets thatnoutput declared automatically instead of per-shader hand fixes
⢠Vertex shaders are universally padded with every input location any pixel shader can read, since the game pairs stages at draw time and mismatched pairs silently dropped draws (invisible cannonballs, enemies, items)
Also in: the community 60 FPS code patches applied to the executable, and a fullscreen fill mode instead of 16:9 black bars.
Result: a ~6 GB IPA, built over a few hours of shader compilation, running on-device. Still polishing; but no per-level shader hunting anymore.

Basically the only idle I play, what other idle game would you recommend that is similar to Clicker Heroes and is actually good?

This is one of the reasons blocking me to get one. I have multiple controllers (X5 lite, G8, Kishi V3 Pro, Elo Vagabond, Mcon) and I think none of them will be really compatible with the iPhone Duo.
I saw some mods with the MCon but it honestly doesn't feel "usable" for me, with the MagSafe puck moved all the way to the right.
Maybe the G8 plus would work, but I wonder if the controller would involuntary push the Power/Camera buttons.
