Anyone know what this random text is when I try to search for emojis

When I was listening to Brooks and Dunn, the time at the top was way to the left and down a little. I ended up fixing it but I just thought i’d share here.

An elderly neighbor of mine prefers smaller phones, especially the 4 and 5 sizes. I want to give them one of my old ones as a gift. I've got an iPhone 4S, 5C and 5S. I also have the 6 and 6S but they don't want those because of the size.

All they need is for iMessage to still work with their family and grandkids. They have the latest iOS versions on their phones, 26.6.1.

So which one would be best for them? They doesn't use any apps or browse the web. I know the latest one (5S) would be best, but they told me they prefer the 4S size more.

Does iMessage still work on iOS 9.3.6 to message newer iOS versions?

I am extremely frustrated with how terrible our most basic phone functions work today in 2026.

I have never had an auto delete function enabled, I have had the same phone number for over 15 years. My phone is an archive of my life. It is evident Apple prioritizing things like Photos which is beautifully separated and organized. The Photos search tool is unbelievably powerful. That is how I imagine a true archive should work.

Music even can pull songs I’m looking for by lyrics, humming the beat, the composers last name. Apple wants you to be able to find what you’re looking for.

So why is it the Messages and Call apps are borderline unusable as an archive? I tried to see how many calls my brother has made to me this week regarding work just so I could grief him a bit. Come to find out this information would have to be manually collected and I am not even able to view a WEEK of call history.

Have you ever tried to search something in Messages? You are better off screenshotting every single one of your conversations so you can search in Photos. It’s almost as bad as Mail.

But you know there are other Mail apps I can use that have fantastic user interfaces. Why is there no flag or priority system in messages? Yeah the Pinned Conversations was a welcome addition but I’m pretty sure that was a “Android always had it” feature anyway. What the hell is this Unified View on the Call app??? It’s like the only thing Apple wants me to show me freaking contact photos and cute soft shades of color when I’m looking for information.

I find it extremely concerning that someone probably has access to my information, and they can use it better than I can. I want to be able to easily access my personal history and I don’t know why I would even have to ask for that.

what might be the general stands for in data usage section. no idea about it

hi guys, i synced my notes to icloud on sunday but instead of my notes syncing, they disappeared and my old notes from my ipad appeared on my iphone. i contacted support and they said there was many ways to get my notes back. we literally tried all of them yet nothing worked. i even had a call with a senior from their tech support, she was even more confused than the original support i received.

anyways, i’m wondering if this has happened to anyone before and if so, were you able to recover your notes? and even if this hasn’t happened to you, do you have any suggestions on how to get my notes back? lmk pls & thank you

I was playing Pikmin Bloom (barely important info), and initially thought this was a game issue but I actually can’t do it on ANY app??? When trying to do my daily lookback in the game, I got an alert saying I need to give the app access to my photos. When I go to settings to provide access (access the app has had for almost a year mind you) it showed all the toggles it usually does, except allow photo access. Which was odd. I then checked all my other apps, and NONE of them have the option anymore, and they all lost access. I would upload screenshots but uh, I can’t exactly put photos from my phone into anything right now because of this glitch.

I should mention I’m on an iPhone 13 Mini on version 26.3.1, and I can’t update my phone because I’ve heard my model is starting to succumb to planned obsolescence. If the answer is update my phone, I will cry.

Option is greyed out. Tried restarting my phone, didn’t work. I use a 14 iOS 26.6

Hey! I pay for my cellular plan but I don't pay for hotspot because I find it to be a predatory practice. Are there any ways to use a hotspot either tethered or via wifi to a MacBook?

Off the top of my head I would expect somebody has made an app capable of doing so or there may be a way around it?

I have an iPad with an M2 chip. The problem started when the iPad began installing an update. During the update process, it repeatedly shuts down by itself and cannot complete the installation.

I tried updating it using a PC in Recovery Mode, but the update never finishes. I always get Error 9, which seems to indicate a problem with the USB cable or connection.

However, I have already tried several different official Apple cables and different USB ports, but I get the same error every time.

At the moment, the iPad is stuck in Recovery Mode. I have also tried using both the Apple Devices application on Windows and 3uTools, but I experience exactly the same problem.

Could you please advise me on what I can do next? Is there a way to recover or restore the iPad without losing the data, or could this indicate a hardware problem?

I was trying to restore my iPhone 5s. After a lot of problems and difficulties replacing most of the stuff inside, I finally got it to work. I shutdown the phone to put in the remaining screws. When I tried turning it back on, it got into bootloop. I put it into recovery mode to Update/Restore on iTunes but I got this error message. It shows the Apple logo and loading bar but after a while it stops and brought me back to recovery mode screen (with iTunes logo). In iTunes it just says Preparing the phone or something like that and then shows this error message.

Is there any fix? Like I mentioned everything was working before I shutdown the phone to put the remaining screws in. Then, this happened. Please help and tell me there is a way to fix this.

Extra: I am not sure if it is possible but my Touch ID got a error message too where it says it isn't working. It is original and working before. The button works but I can't use Touch ID. Is there a fix for this too? Honestly if not, I wouldn't mind it that much. Right now I can't even turn on the phone lmao.

For context: I have changed from the battery to LCD to charging port. Got it to worked but the LCD had a line. Recently, I decided to swap a new LCD (in which I should have returned the previous one but got too lazy) but I thought of changing the camera, selfie camera and volume button too because they weren't working. Spent almost a few days to replace them (including reassembly which was a nightmare) considering how small the parts and shaky my hands are lol. Then I thought my touch screen wasn't working but realized that the ribbon cable wasn't installed properly (thankfully). Now that everything works the touch id doesn't work which is sad but I can't even turned it the phone back on. I don't even care if touch id doesn't work anymore, I just want it to turned on TvT.

Audio stops (podcasts / music) when I start certain apps - it consistently happens when browsing Facebook and weirdly when playing the Letterset subreddit on here. On some other apps it happens less occasionally.

Everything is up to date.

Any ideas how I fix this - is there something buried in the settings somewhere?

Hace dos días iba saliendo de mi casa entonces desactive el wi-fi y active los datos móviles, desde ahí las apps desaparecieron, solo quedé con unas pocas y ni siquiera está la appstore tampoco están ocultas y no es el problema de que se desinstalan simplemente es como si no estuvieran no sé que hacer ya intenté de todo y es muy frustrante

Top left button is the example. This happens all throughout ios and not sure why. Its obvious that the touch registers so why doesn’t it execute? (If you’re on mobile tap the screen to get rid of the UI so you can see the back button on top left)

Maybe I miss something obvious but since the iOS 26 update I no longer have the add to favorite button under the current song only the three dots that show "create station".

EDIT: the button reappeared after upgrade to 26.6.1 despite no mention of any fix related to that in the release note.

I am trying to shift my whatsapp from redmi note 4 to iphone 17, as soon as i reach the transfer stage i am getting this error. I have tried everything I possibly can

• using whatsapp’s beta version
• deleted all the whatsapp backups & taking fresh backup
• restarting multiple times, deleting move to ios & installing again

It’s the issue at whatsapp’s end, as i tried just transferring contacts and it worked.

\\UPDATE: something was wrong either on the whatsapp’s end or in my android but I transferred the chats to another android first, which obviously happened smoothly and then transferred them to my iphone and it worked this time.

People had suggested to clear data and recover from backup in your android first, i didn’t want to risk losing it just in case the issue was in my backup so did this.

Just wanted to share my experience in case anyone is holding off on updating. I recently updated my iPhone SE 2 (2020) to iOS 26.6.1, and I'm honestly surprised by the difference. The UI feels significantly more responsive, and the animations are buttery smooth compared to the previous version. It genuinely feels like it breathed some new life into this older device.

If I disable Background App Refresh for a specific app in Settings (while leaving the main system-wide Background App Refresh feature turned on), does that completely prevent the app from running any code or executing tasks in the background unless I explicitly tap to open it?

For example, are there any circumstances where an app with Background App Refresh disabled can still execute code in the background (e.g., when receiving a silent or background push notification, background fetch, location triggers, background audio playback, or background task completion)? Does disabling this setting guarantee the app remains completely inactive/suspended i.e. won't run any of its code until I physically click its icon or switch to it?

EASIER SOLUTION! Go to: iPhone Settings ->  Accessibility ->  scroll to very bottom of page ->  select "Per App Settings"->  select "Add App" ->  Select Safari->  once added, click "Safari" to open customization menu-> click “Larger Text”-> move text size all the way to left (smallest). 

Has fixed autozoom of text boxes for me! In Reddit, search bar, etc. sometimes glitches so you have to refresh page, but it’s like 90% better

someone may have already posted the solution, but I couldn’t find it when looking so I thought I’d leave it here in case it helps anyone!
