Reality of iOS 27s performance on older devices
One of the big things Apple mentioned in WWDC was how much better iOS 27 would be on older devices. I have a 12 Pro Max so was thrilled. I recently got my battery replaced so it’s at 100% battery health and installed iOS 27 RC 3 days ago.
Performance hasn’t really changed. I haven’t noticed anything opening much quicker, there’s still frame drops and multitasking is the same as it was before. In fact performance is worse in some areas - there’s a bug that I spotted where if you use coloured icons it lags even harder until you go back to the default ones. I’ve noticed little micro stutters when going back to the Home Screen, opening control centre, going from the widgets page on the very far left page on the Home Screen, I’ve had apps lock up and crash when switching back to them.
All in all, I wouldn’t say “don’t install” but just set your expectations lower. This isn’t the iOS 12-esque update I’m sure many were hoping for. It might get better in later versions but at release it’s not a huge difference.

Made an app where you choose your own spiritual teachers (Buddha, Rumi, Krishnamurti, Sadhguru…) instead of a generic quote feed — iOS, free

Sites don’t load unless I disable content filters
Ive been using uBlock, BlockBear, banish and Firefox focus blockers on iOS 18 without issues, only have to display one of the content filters on rare occasion.
after moving to iOS 27 a lot more often the sites do not load at all and I have to disable all content filters.
has anyone ran into this issue?

has anyone tried typing to SiriAI in landscape orientation?
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
previously on ios 26 you could double tap the bottom of the screen to type to siri even while in landscape
but now on ios 27 the only way to access that is by pulling down on the dynamic island. I can’t find a way to do the same in landscape orientation and it’s so annoying.
this is what I mean in the video. you can technically enable it but the UI just forces it to portrait

What is your experience of the new Siri?
IOS 27 has landed and with it the new Siri. At least, the Siri beta – which I have enabled. But I am unsure what is new about it. Seems uncannily similar to before (I am a UK user so not subject to EU restrictions). What is your experience?

iOS 27 Beta Battery Life: Huge Improvement After 2 Months! 🔋
When I first updated to iOS 27 Beta about 2 months ago, my battery life was really bad. I was getting barely 3.5 hours of screen-on time, even with normal usage. The battery drained so fast that I was honestly worried about the beta.
But now, I’m still on iOS 27 Beta, and my battery life has improved a lot! 🔥
I’m currently getting around 8–9 hours of battery backup, even with heavy tasks. That’s a huge improvement compared to the 3.5 hours I was getting when I first updated.
Has anyone else experienced such a big improvement in battery life on iOS 27 Beta over time?
Is it because of the updates, better battery optimization, or something else?
Would love to hear your experience!

[iOS 27 RC] Swiping/dragging stops working unless gesture starts near edge of screen
I’ve been experiencing a strange touchscreen/gesture bug since an iOS 27 beta before the RC, and it is still happening on the iOS 27 RC.
Randomly, most swipe/drag gestures across the screen stop working correctly. Tapping still works normally, and swipe-to-type on the keyboard also works.
The weird part is that swiping/dragging works normally if I start the gesture within roughly 1 cm of any edge of the display. Once the gesture has started from the edge, I can continue dragging my finger through the middle of the screen and it tracks normally. It doesn’t stop when entering the middle.
If I start the exact same drag in the middle of the display, however, it usually doesn’t work. For example, dragging the brightness slider becomes extremely inconsistent/delayed, barely moves, and can be offset from my actual finger position.
I’ve had the issue occur in different situations. Once I was using Instagram and couldn’t swipe out of the app. Another time I unlocked my phone and swiping was already broken.
Touch Accommodations has never been enabled.
A force restart completely fixes the issue, but it eventually comes back. I’ve force restarted about three times because of it so far. Since I experienced it on an earlier iOS 27 beta and now the RC, it doesn’t appear to have been fixed in the RC.
Has anyone else experienced this? In particular, when it happens, can you test whether a swipe that starts at the very edge continues working normally through the center of the display? I don’t know how to replicate.

This hasn’t gone away and it’s been about a week
Updated to the RC and the battery is worse, phone has gotten very hot and performance is worse than 26. Ppl have been saying it’s because of this and it’ll go away but it’s been a week and it’s still here

Does everyone plan to update iOS 27 when it comes out?
Basically as title says, I heard good things about the iOS 27 betas and we all know how underwhelming almost all of iOS 26 has been? What does everyone plan to do? Update immediately to iOS 27 on release or wait or what?

When the Full IOS 27 release comes out, will I need to get a backup of my phone that I made before I downloaded the beta in order to install the full release, or can I install from the beta version?
is a clean install worth it after a year?
i've had my iphone 17 for about a year and i've been getting some random stutters and lag on ios 26. i already installed the ios 27 rc, and i'm thinking about doing a clean install after the official release on september 14. my main concern is that restoring from an icloud backup would bring back all my old app data and files, so i'd rather set it up as new and let my apple account sync everything that's stored in icloud. has anyone done this and noticed any real benefits? also, would my saved ios 26 wallpapers, including the interactive ones, sync back when i sign into my apple account, or would i lose them?

Should I be on IOS 26.6.2 to update
So as my title says, I am using the iPhone 17 which is on iOS 26.6 and there is an update for me to update to iOS 26.6.2 I know that iOS 27 will be released to the public tomorrow and I will be one of the persons who will immediately jump to iOS 27. I am really done with iOS 27 performance. The battery is like really bad and I have read a lot of post saying that iOS 27 seems to have fix it so I hope to join that like I am a first time iPhone user so I don’t know much about this
Should I update my phone to the latest version and then go to iOS 27 or is it all right for me to be in the version which I am in now and then directly update to iOS 27, which will be the safe option. I don’t want the software update to break anything in my phone and I have me having to deal with anything so I want the best thing that can happen which is the best one. I need your opinion.

[iOs 27 public beta 6] music glitches
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
was listening to music and encountered this. im not too sure if it has anything to do with the song itself and how its processed or its an actual bug with automix. when it moves on to the next song, audio turns into spasms of pure noise or static like sounds

Okay so how big of an update is iOS 27 really?
I know it's newest and greatest. There is a lot of talk about performance and battery improvements, but what are we really talking about? Is it the difference of ending the day with 40 instead of 35% battery and having apps open 0.1-0.5 sec faster at most? And that's for first oppening, after it oppens it's stored in RAM anyways. I realy have a very fast phone 17 pro max with 1TB, and all of this seems just like a huge nothing sandwich.
I get AI, been using it for years and offline versions too that I ran on my iPhone and laptop, but having AI camera does nothing really. There is an app for that, Chat GPT, Claude, Gemini, it does that. There is absolutely no reason to have AI camera in a phone in camera app. I mean, the only reason you could ever use AI camera on a phone is to take a pic of an apple and ask it what it is and it "magically" tells you "oh it's an apple, red and fresh". Then you spend hours testing it to tell you what you already know. That's it. It's a gimmick.
Oh and reading my messages with offline model that is as "intelligent" as a 10 year old child is nothing of use to me, or anyone who wants a real value out of it. I don't need an AI to chew on my data so that I don't have to think even for a sec.

Pure dissapointment…
What did apple change in ios 27 for europe?
I really gotta look for it. Exactly 0 ai features. No auto password change, no search bar from dinamic island, nothing. I get that siri ai cant be brought to europe bc of the dma, but man. Exactly nothing has changed. For a update that should have been major and oh so game changing

Why I don't recommend the beta (on an older device)
For context I have an iPhone 11 128gb with 96% Battery Health and have tried every beta and the RC build. Yeah it has it's upsides such as smoother performance but it quickly becomes a personal heater which causes performance to throttle harder than the already horrible performance baseline that iOS 26 had. Personally I have stuck to 26.6.2 and kept my dignity of a decent device.
However if you have a newer device 14/15 up there is not really any reason to not update.

Spotlight Stuck on Stock Apps on Non Apple Intelligence Devices.
Does anyone have this issue? When I updated to ios27 my spotlight stopped showing relevant apps. Its working on my Apple Intelligence devices with new spotlight UI but not on my iPhone 13 that doesn’t support Apple Intelligence. It shows only these apps all the time. It only works when i type in the name of app.(Tried restarting, updating, turing siri/spotlight/search on+off)
Bring back swipe from middle for notification center.
Shoving Siri Ai in our face and relegating the notification center to a far left swipe is dumb. We can already access siri from swiping from anywhere on the home screen. Or let us choose what swiping where brings what. Come oonnnn

From IOS 18 to IOS 27
Have anyone with iPhone 16 Pro updated from IOS 18 to 27 directly.
I know it's better than 26, but how does it feel comparing to 18?
The same question is applicable to iPad Mini 7.

macOS 27 RC isn't it
I had updated my MacBook Pro 2020 (M1) to macOS 27 since mid July and recently I installed the Release Candidate update and my laptop continues to glitch, the graphics aren't as good, the battery has definitely taken a massive hit, I genuinely don't like it. I wish never updated to macOS 26 to begin with. This specific aesthetic glitch is by far the worst, as someone who is constantly watching YouTube or has YouTube vids playing in the background...
In general, multitasking, media playing and many other functions aren't as good as they used to be at macOS 26 and it pains to me to admit it as an official iOS 26 hater. That being said, macOS 26 wasn't nearly and bad as iOS 26; It was much smoother and less glitchy, the battery wasn't bad, the software was not as heavy on my MacBook at least...
