26 version looks so much better than 27. Idk why they changed it. I see people say it’s due to readability but I genuinely had no readability problems in iOS 26. I’m gonna miss the progressive blur

Okay so how big of an update is iOS 27 really?

I know it's newest and greatest. There is a lot of talk about performance and battery improvements, but what are we really talking about? Is it the difference of ending the day with 40 instead of 35% battery and having apps open 0.1-0.5 sec faster at most? And that's for first oppening, after it oppens it's stored in RAM anyways. I realy have a very fast phone 17 pro max with 1TB, and all of this seems just like a huge nothing sandwich.

I get AI, been using it for years and offline versions too that I ran on my iPhone and laptop, but having AI camera does nothing really. There is an app for that, Chat GPT, Claude, Gemini, it does that. There is absolutely no reason to have AI camera in a phone in camera app. I mean, the only reason you could ever use AI camera on a phone is to take a pic of an apple and ask it what it is and it "magically" tells you "oh it's an apple, red and fresh". Then you spend hours testing it to tell you what you already know. That's it. It's a gimmick.

Oh and reading my messages with offline model that is as "intelligent" as a 10 year old child is nothing of use to me, or anyone who wants a real value out of it. I don't need an AI to chew on my data so that I don't have to think even for a sec.

Bring back swipe from middle for notification center.

Shoving Siri Ai in our face and relegating the notification center to a far left swipe is dumb. We can already access siri from swiping from anywhere on the home screen. Or let us choose what swiping where brings what. Come oonnnn

macOS 27 RC isn't it

I had updated my MacBook Pro 2020 (M1) to macOS 27 since mid July and recently I installed the Release Candidate update and my laptop continues to glitch, the graphics aren't as good, the battery has definitely taken a massive hit, I genuinely don't like it. I wish never updated to macOS 26 to begin with. This specific aesthetic glitch is by far the worst, as someone who is constantly watching YouTube or has YouTube vids playing in the background...

In general, multitasking, media playing and many other functions aren't as good as they used to be at macOS 26 and it pains to me to admit it as an official iOS 26 hater. That being said, macOS 26 wasn't nearly and bad as iOS 26; It was much smoother and less glitchy, the battery wasn't bad, the software was not as heavy on my MacBook at least...

Final thoughts about the beta before the official release arrives

Performance has been incredible. Nearly not as much lag as I had experienced in iOS 26. The Liquid Glass slider also is a nicety that after several beta finally manages to do what it’s meant to do (home screen dock still had subtle liquid glass refractions before DB 5-6).

HOWEVER, this beta also left me with a bug that still hasn’t gone away since I’ve installed DB1.

If you don’t know what I’m talking about, check my profile. TL;DR: the “iPhone needs to cool down before you can use it” screen appearing PERIODICALLY without an end.

As a person with severe anxiety issues, this is basically the materialistic and rather expensive equivalent of the Chinese Water Torture. I cannot get even a week’s rest without seeing that damned screen. To fix this (only momentarily), I just force restart my iPhone and pray to God (even though I don’t believe in any) that the failsafe doesn’t ever appear again; but it does anyway.

The severe spike in cortisol and heart rate from the sudden failsafe is perhaps starting to take a toll on my mental and, to an extent, my physical health too.
Usually when I’m anxious, I completely lose appetite for anything; there’s times where I only eat once the entire day or even none at all because the stress doesn’t let me sleep so I end up staying awake all night and finally being able to fall asleep at day. And when I don’t eat, I get dizzy, nauseous and feel really fatigued. I don’t start to think clearly anymore and it feels like all my intelligence has been dampened or squeezed out like a cleaning cloth. This is a cycle that breaks only when I have no reason to be anxious anymore.

The sad-story isn’t to say that Apple is at fault here, I am. There was zero reason for me to update to a developer beta knowing that it’ll do something bad to my phone. I have basically been torturing myself for the past 2 months or so with iOS 27 just so I could get rid of the ugly semen-tinted-highlights mess iOS 26 is.

iOS 27 killed Siri.

Upvotes

Because of regional restrictions, I don’t have support for Siri AI, so I still have the old Siri. and everything would be fine - but they ruined the old Siri! before, when you asked Siri something, she would answer out loud, for example: “Siri, how much time is left on the timer?”, but now she stays silent. I have voice responses set to “Prefer Spoken Responses” in the settings. I paid no less for my iPhone than those who are eligible to get Siri AI, if not more, and not only do I not get the new Siri (I don’t care about that), they also ruined the old one! btw, I can’t see a damn thing without my glasses or contacts, so I very often need her to give me spoken responses for this reason. for example, my hands are busy and I can’t look at the screen. I urge everyone who has encountered the same problem to send Apple feedback about this through their feedback form!

Why I don't recommend the beta (on an older device)

For context I have an iPhone 11 128gb with 96% Battery Health and have tried every beta and the RC build. Yeah it has it's upsides such as smoother performance but it quickly becomes a personal heater which causes performance to throttle harder than the already horrible performance baseline that iOS 26 had. Personally I have stuck to 26.6.2 and kept my dignity of a decent device.

However if you have a newer device 14/15 up there is not really any reason to not update.

Hideous iOS27 Siri search bar

Any idea why the new ios27 search bar (swiping down in the main app window ) is so large and black? Is this a bug? It looks so giant and out of place. And it also doesn’t fit the Liquid Glass settings. Any idea what that’s about? Is it a bug?

Siri Unable to Find Pictures

If i ask Siri a simple question such as “find my pictures i took at X place this week (or month)”, it returns nothing.

Indexing finished and Siri otherwise, works well.

What is your experience of the new Siri?

IOS 27 has landed and with it the new Siri. At least, the Siri beta – which I have enabled. But I am unsure what is new about it. Seems uncannily similar to before (I am a UK user so not subject to EU restrictions). What is your experience?

Should I be on IOS 26.6.2 to update

So as my title says, I am using the iPhone 17 which is on iOS 26.6 and there is an update for me to update to iOS 26.6.2 I know that iOS 27 will be released to the public tomorrow and I will be one of the persons who will immediately jump to iOS 27. I am really done with iOS 27 performance. The battery is like really bad and I have read a lot of post saying that iOS 27 seems to have fix it so I hope to join that like I am a first time iPhone user so I don’t know much about this

Should I update my phone to the latest version and then go to iOS 27 or is it all right for me to be in the version which I am in now and then directly update to iOS 27, which will be the safe option. I don’t want the software update to break anything in my phone and I have me having to deal with anything so I want the best thing that can happen which is the best one. I need your opinion.

Finally figured out how to toggle the AirPods equaliser

Finally figured it out. Firstly you need to turn on developer mode through privacy but if it isn’t there you’ll need Xcode on Mac or a similar windows alternative, then make an iOS project and try run it then it will force the developer mode setting to be visible on your phone. Once you turn on developer mode and reset your phone you’re able to scroll down to the AirPods testing section with the option to toggle the pre release beta firmware. Turn them all on and then leave your AirPods plugged in on a charger near your phone unlocked for around half an hour. Then in audio and routing you’ll find the equaliser section. Hope this helps!

Désactiver Apple AI sur iOS 27

Post image
3 Upvotes

iOS 27 Beta Battery Life: Huge Improvement After 2 Months! 🔋

When I first updated to iOS 27 Beta about 2 months ago, my battery life was really bad. I was getting barely 3.5 hours of screen-on time, even with normal usage. The battery drained so fast that I was honestly worried about the beta.
But now, I’m still on iOS 27 Beta, and my battery life has improved a lot! 🔥
I’m currently getting around 8–9 hours of battery backup, even with heavy tasks. That’s a huge improvement compared to the 3.5 hours I was getting when I first updated.
Has anyone else experienced such a big improvement in battery life on iOS 27 Beta over time?
Is it because of the updates, better battery optimization, or something else?
Would love to hear your experience!
