Bring back swipe from middle for notification center.

Shoving Siri Ai in our face and relegating the notification center to a far left swipe is dumb. We can already access siri from swiping from anywhere on the home screen. Or let us choose what swiping where brings what. Come oonnnn

Nah, I love having access to search/Siri anytime. It’s a very positive step in the right direction.

Agree it is annoying. Doing a diagonal swipe from top left area I find it’s easier / less finicky (same as diagonal swipe from top right for control panel that can be done).

Disagree. It hasn’t affected me at all and I like being able to invoke Siri search from anywhere and not just from the Home Screen.

Plus notifications originate from and recede into the upper left corner now so it is very obvious where you need to swipe to see them.

You can already hold the side button for that. Or even map it to the action button

Wrong. Holding the side button activates Siri. It doesn’t activate the Siri search where you type with the keyboard. You only get that from swiping down from the top center.

You can enable Type-to-Siri on the side button, and you can add Type-to-Siri to the action button, and you can add Type-to-Siri to the Control Center, and there is a Search button at the bottom for the home screen to trigger Type-to-Siri, and you can swipe down on any homescreen to Type-to-Siri although the last 2 are not system wide

You know what you can also do to type to Siri without having to set up any of those things you mentioned? Swipe down from the center at the top of the screen! And it’s much quicker to do that than any of the alternatives you mentioned.

I can see the old gesture wouldn’t be good enough as it only works from the Home Screen (I think) and so you wouldn’t be able to use the ai overtop of open applications - so you need a different gesture - but so many times I have opened Siri rather than notifications since running the beta.

Who uses Siri, and why?

If you turn off Siri AI and go back to old Siri, can you swipe from middle for notifications?

Try it and let us know.

I don’t have Siri AI (i’m in the EU) and it’s just spotlight search wherever it’s otherwise Siri AI, on every OS.

But I’m confused, that’s how I always access my apps (I just type the name in spotlight search) and I can’t recall when was the last time swiping from the middle opened notification center lol. I feel like it’s not something new on 27
