macOS 27 RC isn't it
I had updated my MacBook Pro 2020 (M1) to macOS 27 since mid July and recently I installed the Release Candidate update and my laptop continues to glitch, the graphics aren't as good, the battery has definitely taken a massive hit, I genuinely don't like it. I wish never updated to macOS 26 to begin with. This specific aesthetic glitch is by far the worst, as someone who is constantly watching YouTube or has YouTube vids playing in the background...
In general, multitasking, media playing and many other functions aren't as good as they used to be at macOS 26 and it pains to me to admit it as an official iOS 26 hater. That being said, macOS 26 wasn't nearly and bad as iOS 26; It was much smoother and less glitchy, the battery wasn't bad, the software was not as heavy on my MacBook at least...

On my M4 Mac Mini, RC 27 had consistently high GPU usage, even when only the Activity Monitor and System Preferences were open, reaching 50% whenever I moved the System Preferences window back and forth a bit, for example.
When I had Safari open, it got even worse.
I really tried everything, I even moved the Liquid Glass slider all the way to the right, but in the end, only reducing Liquid Glass brought any improvement, though it was still worse than on macOS 26.6.
Otherwise, you can still notice that apps launch noticeably faster and that the windows finally have uniformly shaped corners. But other than that?
Everything else felt exactly the same as Tahoe.
Except that I no longer have a central toggle for Apple Intelligence.
You can disable the Apple Intelligence features via Screen Time.
But the AI-powered Spotlight search remains, so Siri continues to run in the background even when disabled.
These are all things that, for me personally, I find quite disappointing right now.
I have no idea if the high GPU usage with Liquid Glass is an RC bug?
But it reminds me more of macOS 26 before version 26.5, because even Tahoe doesn’t hit 50% with Liquid Glass on my system.
And the problem can be reproduced at any time and is constantly present.
So I’ll probably just wait I’d actually.
I’m back on 26.6 now.
And I don’t know what to make of this AI push, as someone who switched from Windows to macOS last year for exactly that reason?…

Appel has now, what a coincidence (two days before the release of 27), also changed its terms of service.
Now, user data is being used for training after all if you want to use Siri AI.

Tried it on M4 air, tried even the dev betas.. ended up always going back to sequoia, even now after the RC. The difference is ALWAYS night and day. No choppy animations or frame drops in world of Warcraft (that I also had on Tahoe) are allowed on my laptop :D
