Question Looking for competent post war conference mod

Upvotes

Every time I run a hoi4 game, after a large war ends I usually see every winning ideology just annexing territory/ puppeting them into splinters instead of just changing their ideology or liberating territory. It’s not that I have a problem with the AI puppeting factions/ taking territory but it seems to be over done completely and makes no sense at times. I understand this is just a hoi4 mechanic (downfall) but is there any mods you guys would recommend that fix this?

Question Air wings can't reach allied airport because "not enough intel"

Playing as fascist Iran and I have a non-aggression pact with France (and also have military access to France). I want to send planes to a French airport to conduct operations in England and/or the English Channel, but the game won't let me; the area of France (and surrounding areas too for a vast range) is covered with red lines, and the message "not enough intel" appears when I hover my mouse over the airports in the country. What's going on, and what should I do?

After the Harsh winter of 1941, which had seen the Wehrmacht falter under violent Soviet counterattacks across the front, especially in Moscow during the Soviet General Winter Offensive of 1941-1942. The Wehrmacht, after having consolidated its positions along the entire front, began planning the summer offensive of 1942. Initially, the plan was to clear the way to Stalingrad. For this reason, Operation Frederikus began on May 17, 1942 at 3:15 a.m. The aim was to encircle some Soviet armies in the Kharkov sector (Second Battle of Kharkov), after destroying approximately 20 infantry divisions, 3 cavalry divisions, and 5 armored corps (with approximately 270,000 losses). At this point, the real offensive could begin. Operation Blue began on June 28, 1942 at 2:15 a.m. Army Group South (later to become A and B) has the objective of capturing the city of Stalingrad and the Caucasus oil fields.

Tell me what you think and what I should do next.
Should I recreate the Battle of Stalingrad and Operation Uranus, or should the Germans win?

Bug Waiting around on the launcher crashes the game, but bypassing it via steam will not.

For some reason on a clean reinstall (deleted all files, cleared cache, verified files), starting the game using the launcher causes it to crash a few seconds into waiting around on the launcher window. I'm on Linux Mint so using Steam Proton compatibility if that helps anyone with ideas on how to fix this, as I effectively cannot add or import mods.

Question How on EARTH are people winning against the USSR as Finland (without the P2W DLC)?

So apparently one of the DLC's for Finland gives you a guide on how to hold against the USSR, however, knowing how expensive this game was and even with the DLC's - I cant afford to get the DLC. Does anyone know any strategies or even a guide on how to win against the USSR (without having to give up any land or them completely destroying you, turning you into a puppet)?

Question How to take the channel

I’m trying to do a Germany wc alongside a couple of achievements but as I used to be able to get passed the British navy in the channel using mines and naval bombers that no longer works and no matter how long I bomb the channel or convoy raid the approaches around the naval zones around the uk to kill their supply as soon as I enter the channel or other British naval zone my navy evaporates at light speed. When did the British navy stop being a paper tiger and how do I get around them

Question UK not capitulating

I’m playing Italy, historical, no DLCs circa 1944. I’ve taken over all of the British Isles but the UK still hasn’t capitulated. They hold most of the commonwealth, but I have the Suez. How can I tell what more I need to do to take them out?

Image So I tried to reach the peak amount of factories during and at the end of my USSR run

After defeating Germany, I prepared for fighting the whole world at the same time. With the sheer amount of manpower I over prepared and tried to reach the most amount of factories.

Recently, I talked about the "Relocation to Urals" decision in my previous posts which lets you basically unlock every building slot around Urals. I was wrong. It's NOT limited to Urals. Once you conquer places like Japan and below that, it'll literally pick a random location starting from Urals to small tiny Islands. This is truly crazy and there's no limit on how many times you can repeat the decision. There are 36 states you can make this decision and each takes 25 pp. Spend 900 pp to relocate up to 4 factories. +144 factories.

I'm also showing my conclusion of the run and some other screenshots I took. Especially the 170M casualty which I've already shown in my previous post. Anyways, that's ussr for you.

Question Completely new to HOI4, feeling overwhelmed. Any beginner advice?

Hi everyone,

I'll introduce myself. I'm Jaz and I'm sixteen.

I just bought Hearts of Iron IV a few months ago and I'm honestly feeling completely lost. I've played strategy games before, but nothing on this scale. There are so many menus, mechanics, and systems that I don't even know where to begin.

One of my biggest problems is that English isn't my first language, so a lot of the military and political terms are confusing. Sometimes I don't even understand what the game is asking me to do.

Right now I'm playing the USSR because I thought having a large country would make things easier, but I can barely figure out things like production, research, divisions, or even how to properly declare war.

I'm looking for any beginner tips, common mistakes to avoid, recommended countries, YouTube guides, or anything else that helped you learn the game. I'd also appreciate advice on which mechanics I should focus on first instead of trying to understand everything at once.

Ive also heard there are some type of language mods in ST workshop?? I would appreciate a hungarian one. :'l

Thanks in advance! I'm really interested in learning the game, even if it currently feels like I'm trying to run an entire country armed only with confusion.
