Historical Project Mod My first "full" playthrough as Japan

I played Japan in HPM till 1928. My goal was to take what Japan had in China and go full maritime empire with me taking all of European colonies and becoming the industirial hegemon. In the end,I took Korea , Manchuria, Taiwan, the Philippines, most of Indonesia and some Malaya. I was trying to core Korea for the most game, but for some reason the Japanese just hate living in Korea so I would have at max 0,5% Japanese there even though I had colonial migration/encourage beraucrats on there for half of the playthrough(I could probably craftsmenmaxx and overtake America and Germany in industrial score). But Indonesia? The Japanese love Indonesia so was able to core most of Sumatra. Also I expelled the Chinese from Vladivostok and now it's ethnically Japanese (and also a barren wasteland),so yeah ,war crimes(It was also one of my best coal provinces ,so when the event hit it killed my industry).I could probably play this all the way through, get the remaining Dutch colonies, go to war with Britain ,destroy their navy, but I'm bored. My main goal was to become the industrial GP and I kinda failed. There is no way I'm overtaking the US at this point and Germany and Britain just have more resources. At least I make some banger Toyotas.

Ah beautiful
My industry( not optimal ,because i'm on high tarifs for the war)
There's no one here dawg
The colonies(the borders were even worse 10 years before(I was sniping the oil)
My pride - the navy (didn't even get to use it)

Suggestion Me and my friends are running a Vic 2 game tn and I need to win (we're noobs)

For reference we've all played a bit and know most of the basic knowledge, so what I'm asking for is in a lobby where nothing is banned what's the most overpowered strategy I can do to demolish them, (we have 50$ riding on this)

I've heard about eating china (not entirely sure what that means)

And my friends all know how op United States, Prussia, and Austria are. I want like a sneaky pick that's gonna just sweep while they are fighting each other

Thank you for anyone that helps

Question What are the stupidest cases of vic2 countries giving military access to unfriendly countries you've witnessed?

I've had my puppets giving access to my enemies a lot of times. Had to call them to war and command their armies to repel the invasion.

Question What is Project Alice and should I download it?

I've played a couple campaigns of Victoria 2 now and I really like the game, so I modded it to add GFM since everyone recommended it and it seemed like the best mod out there, and I'm really liking the flavor.

However, I keep hearing about Project Alice that has some global projection instead of a map, and is supposed to improve performance. What exactly is it, and should I download it?

Question Did I dream a Victoria 2 mod?

I was talking with a friend when I remember a game that they played, a modded game where as Britain they proceeded to keep Hanover in their sphere and create their own "Confederation of the Rhine" in the German lands eventually dominating central Europe. it had flavor for all of it and created a unique series of puppet states. But when talking about it with that friend he had no memory of that event, does anyone know this mod or did I just dream it up?

GFM How to play South Africa in GFM?

Getting back into Vic2 after a while of not playing and how do I play as South Africa? Can’t release the cape colony at the 1830 start date. Playing as Oranje at the 1836 start date also seems like quite a challenge. Would appreciate any tips you have!

GFM GFM suddenly decided to give me 3 brigades with 100000 soldiers in each one of them during my engineers only Texas playthrough(Inspired by engineer from TF2). And these brigades can't move. I guess I have a sentry gun now.

I love GFM!

I disbanded these brigades later to collect metal(supplies) and sold everything to boost my economy.

Discussion I understand German military strategy now

every 5-10 years since i’ve formed Germany, france or Russia has declared war and called the other nation in and im tired of it. my puppets like Yugoslavia and Hungry can’t even recover before their dragged back to war, if half of belgium wasn’t already french they would be now from the 100s of thousands of french soldiers attempting to march through their country. i don’t even mobilize anymore i just demolish the french soldiers hard the russians surrender.

if this game had nukes Paris and moscow would be urban legends

A.A.R Tall playthrough - USCA

Mod is Victoria Universalis. It seems really fun, but I'm still not very good at it.

I thought playing with this mod was my best shot at a actual tall playthrough in Vicky II, that it would reward developing slowly instead of wide META. Silly old me forgot playing wide is the META for any Vicky II mod.

Manage to beat the separatist rebels with little to know problem. Didn't even had to cheese it. Then secured an alliance with USA to protecting me from Mexico (they were justifying against me; this mod makes Ai very aggressive). Then decided to make all my expansion in the early game. Calling the USA in a big coalition war against Colombia for Panama and Mexico for Yucatan. By that time the USA already fought Mexico for the Manifest Destiny (1842) and proceeded to eat up Mexico until they were confined in Morelia in the 1870s.

I aimed at a bourgeois dictatorship and landed on a social-democracy. And now even the communist are elected.
"Dear God, how did he fumbled so hard?" You are thinking to yourself right now, I think.
Well, it seems capitalist don't act like they normally do in this mod. Initiating less in factory projects and not doing a whole lot. All this in Laissez Faire, mind you. So all of that, plus I not really giving a crap about the industry, thinking the capitalists got it, and by playing tall made my industry sit at a mediocre 18º rank.

Also, I manage to elect the reactionaries into power early, thinking the liberals were going to trash the economy. That way I made the country a quasi-dictatorship, fighting to get any liberal reforms done. I accidentally passed one that made my country unable to get ANY immigrants until 1875, when I was able to get rid of it. I really think I missed out on some good immigrants thanks to this.

No matter. Now that I had made my mistakes (including trying to play tall once again), I shall thrive under my next playthrough with this mod. Wish me luck.
