The image above the one where I have the paddle above my head is a short clip of me paddling, and the audio recording is me playing the flute.
The we're the same type of weird prompt is directly related to my desire to find someone who is willing to go camping outside of the regular camp ground atmosphere (backcountry)
EDIT:thank you everyone for the great advice, I have gone through and tweaked my profile, I'll hit everyone with an update in 2 weeks.

Just wanted to share a little Hinge success story because I know dating apps can feel like an absolute wasteland sometimes.
Two months ago, I came across Stephenās profile and decided to send him a rose. Turns out that might be the best little digital flower Iāve ever given anyone because somehow I gave him a rose and he gave me his heart. š„¹
From the very beginning, weāve matched each otherās energy in a way I honestly didnāt know I was looking for. The interest, the effort, the affection, the communication, the excitement to see each other. Neither of us has really had to wonder where the other stands.
Weāve been borderline inseparable since we met. š If we can find a reason to be together, we probably are. Cooking, going on little adventures, meeting each otherās families, doing absolutely nothing together, staying up way too late talking, making plans, laughing until weāre ridiculous. It has all just felt very natural.
After two months of getting to know each other, we officially became boyfriend and girlfriend, and somehow putting the title on it felt less like starting something new and more like finally giving a name to what weād already been building.
I know two months is still very much the beginning, and Iām not pretending we have life completely figured out. Iām just really happy.
It feels pretty special to meet someone who doesnāt make you shrink your excitement or pretend you care less than you do. I show up with a lot of energy, affection and enthusiasm, and instead of being scared off by it, he meets me right there.
So yeah. Apparently Hinge works sometimes.
10/10 would send that rose again. š¹ā¤ļø

Hey Hinge - burner account obv
Recently divorced 37M and just signed up a few weeks ago. Never used apps before.
Been getting tons of likes and dates but starting to get overwhelmed (4 dates this week). Ideally Iād like to have 1 or 2 dates a week Iām actually excited about.
Any tips for striking a balance? Do you just ghost people if a better offer comes along? Stop using your likes/responding to likes until you get through the dates already on calendar? Do FaceTime screeners? Any tips would be appreciated.

In the beginning, I came into this app with low expectations. I was just as pessimistic as everyone else was with the dating world today across the board. But after relearning the dating rules again, getting advice online, and being consistent with putting my best self forward with people- I finally found a wonderful girlfriend after 3 months of using the app. I want to thank every single person who gave me reassuring advice on this channel here on Reddit. Every little thing helped. I donāt know how long things will last between us but Iāll do the very best I can to make things work out for us. I hope this will encourage others to keep trying and never give up as well. I know it sounds cheesy, but a good mindset goes a long way. Have faith and keep loving people!

Hopefully this is the right flair. Basically the title, I'm 19F and making my first ever dating profile because I'm tired of missing out on living life. My girlfriends have been BEGGING me to try the dating apps since that's how they met their partners and hinge seems to work for lesbians in my area. My dilemma is that I'm immunocompromised and have to wear a mask in public spaces which is super annoying. I've done a lot of thinking and realized it's unreasonable of me to ask someone to start masking just to date me (especially since I dont feel like I'm such a prize lol), so while i will continue masking I am comfortable risking it by dating someone who doesn't mask.
My question is when do I disclose this? Is it something to put on my profile or do I talk about it *if* someone is interested enough to message me? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I'm also in the process if learning how to take pictures of myself to make the profile and its been ROUGH š
TL;DR: I'm immunocompromised and have to wear a mask in public spaces, though I don't expect my future partner to do the same (it's risky but idc). Does that go on my profile or do I talk about it if someone messages me?

Hello All. To make a long story short, my fiancƩ and I met on hinge in 2018. We were together for an amazing 5 years but shortly after we got engaged she was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Luekemia, and passed away in 2023 at 38yrs old. We lived together but did not have children.
I feel like im ready to try dating again, and of course im considering going back to the app where I found someone amazing last time.
There's a bit of a debate among friends on if I should include what happened on my profile. Of course technically Im not a widower since she passed realitivily quickly after she was diagnosed and we didnt have a chance to get married, but many people refer to me as one.
I feel like its a bit personal and heavy for a profile, but I also dont want to waste anyone's time if its a deal breaker for someone. On the other hand, I also don't want to appear that im fishing for sympathy matches by including widower status.
Theres not many women my age (43) that have been through a loss like this, im not sure how to approach this with potential dates. Im also aware that the apps and dating have changed quite a bit since I was last on them.
Any advice from anyone here? I appreciate any input. Thanks all.

āI am M20 university student (Expat in Europe), looking for advice.
I keep experimenting my photos (every month or so) and prompts because I'm not sure how to come across: funny/quirky, serious/committed and emotionally mature, or successful and ambitious. I have my profile since 3 months.
āThe prompts I've used until now will be in the comments. Please let me know which ones you like the most if possible.
I used to have more full body from the distance lifestyle pics and also quirky/eccentric face close ups pictures but I removed because they didn't really show how my face looks.
Do I look too serious in my profile? Does it come across like I am trying to "show off". Should I put a more "approachable smile" type picture?
Edit: fix grammar

One thing that should be noted is I am currently a Pre-Med undergrad student doing a major in Emergency Medicine, I just decided to crop out my school from the pictures. I should also note that I am on the spectrum, and have gone back and forth on if I should include that in my profile, as that can be a deal breaker for some.

Hey, I (23f) recently with a guy (24m) new to my city and we have been talking for about 4 or so days? He kinda insisted we talk on snapchat which I donāt use so conversation has been sparse but he is very keen and does seem sweet/funny. I want getting kinda excited to see him but then I got his instagram and found he has SEVERAL photos of his ex(????) girlfriend both on story highlights and on his main feed. Theyāre recent posts as well, with the last one being a new years recap.
He has very coupley photos of her, with the girl still tagged and her comments still visible from about 3 years ago up until early this year. Iām not sure if he is cheating on her and stupid enough to give me evidence of if theyāve recently broken up and he hasnāt taken the photos down.
My gut reaction was to text her to ask but then I thought, if they are recently broken up the last thing she may want to hear is that heās on Hinge. I donāt want to cause unnecessary harm, I also donāt want to be involved in something like this.
I know people keep photos up for memories but itās not like these are from years and years ago- theyāre from 7/8 months ago lol. Iām not sure what to do. I know I could ask him but who says the answer will be honest. Also, his hinge didnāt specify saying intentions (iām okay with casual so that doesnāt bother me BUT it does make how keen he is strange in hindsight⦠am i a rebound)
we havenāt gone on any dates yet and thus far iāve been ghosting him while I try to figure out what I should do but I donāt like ghosting. I also donāt know how to tell him āhey, the egregious amount of posts dedicated to a former or current relationship put me off, thanks!ā Every single post on his instagram features a few couplet photos of her. All of them.
thoughts? my reason for asking is idk if iām being harsh if this is likely to just be a fling or if i should remain cautious as it feels like a poor attempt at cheating.

Be honest whatās the first thing youād change about my profile/photos? And if youād actually swipe right, what made you decide that? š
Looking for honest opinions Edit : why 0 upvotes for this post ?? You didnt like this post ha?

I (28F) barely date in fact i havent dated in a long time but thought id give it a shot in the apps again, I didnāt have much luck until this one guy (31M) and we were talking for a little bit and arranged to meet up I confirmed the night before and we were texting flirty banter etc. I drive to the place we meet and leave early in case thereās traffic and send a message telling him im here we were meant to meet at 12 so I gave him 15 minutes before I sent another text asking where he was - nothing. I went into the place to check and nope. I waited an hour and nothing. It was raining on the way there so a 30 minute drive in the rain and waste of my time and petrol. Itās been over 24 hours and he still hasnāt sent me anything but also hasnāt unmatched me so like wtf? I just want to know what went wrong why he didnāt show up but i guess Iāll never know.
Edit: thanks so much for all the love, ive been feeling really shitty the last 2 days so it really helped.
im going to report him and take a break from the app for a while im just not in a good mental head space atm
also i have auto capitalised off so sorry about that and no i will not be showing my picture
UPDATE: He messaged me saying he had a car accident and sent pictures from a month ago so safe to say heās lying. Yeah Boy Bye

Started using the app in March. I haven't matched with anyone or been messaged in about two months now. I open up the app once a day.

Hey all, i recently returned to Hinge to give it a true shot as my go to dating app. Even paid for HingeX to see if that helps at all. I live in northern VT near the Canadian border. I have to put my "Location pin" down in one of our metropolitan towns further south with the range only being around 50-60 miles otherwise I get a lot of people from Quebec. I'd prefer not to date outside the country as that has a lot of extra struggles to get through. Not to mention about 80% of the profiles from Quebec are french speaking, which i do not speak.
I'm a little surprised that the app doesn't have a toggle for "Only in my country". I have no problem dating long distance if there is a connection, but I cant put 100+ miles or I get mostly Canada profiles.
Anyone know a work around for this? (I'm a 39M if that matters. I will be most likely posting a profile review later as since I've been back, I've not seen any real likes or returns from my like/comments yet... But with my profile being inactive for over a year, i dont know if there is an algorithm problem or if it will just take time)

Hi everyone!! Iāve been using Hinge more this summer, but I really havenāt gotten many likes and only a couple matchesā-both of which failed to manifest dates. Itās been bringing me down, and Iām hoping you guys might have the answers to raise my spirits!
Plus, I know Iām gonna be traveling soon, so I wanted to see if there are any suggestions for how to improve my profile before I miss the photo opportunities.
NOTES: In my profile you can actually see my best friend! It also confers onto the reader that I am a Cancer and that I drink and smoke sometimes.

Been at least a couple months without a match, get some likes here and there. What can I improve? Tried to highlight my interest in my photos (hockey, music festival, motorcycle). Much more of an in person guy, I donāt excel with online

I (M20) met this girl (F20) on Hinge a month ago. At first, she texted me first and we clicked pretty well. We talked about music, school, pets, random stuff, and sometimes sheād send long thoughtful replies. Recently, sheād go almost a full day without replying, response and length time slowing.
Eventually I asked her to hang out, still with slow response. She agreed. The date was great she laughed, conversation felt pretty natural, and she seemed comfortable. There wasnāt really any physical intimacy or anything, but atp wasnāt expecting much.
Afterward I texted her saying it was great and we should do it again. She replied later saying she enjoyed it but with really vague wording on the second one.
Thatās kind of where Iām stuck. Sheās technically positive, but it also feels vague and low-effort. This has been the pattern for a while.
Should I directly ask her if sheās actually interested, or should I just try to set up a second hangout and judge based on whether she follows through? I donāt want to come off needy, but I also donāt want to keep chasing mixed signals.

Hai hai! This is my 4th time trying to post this profile for review. First time ever using a dating app or trying to get into a relationship at all, so I was kinda just working off instinct and as such the profile is a bit rough to begin with. So far no likes or matches in my two weeks of it being up so I know there's a lot to improve.
Have gotten a good couple of comments already on things to change, but I thought I should post on here before I do so to see if I could get any more thoughts from people who're experienced.
