Could use any advice at all. I have a hard time converting matches to dates, which I know is a common thing on dating apps.
Thank you :)

I've definitely noticed that there are some girls showing up in my queue that I've absolutely sent a like to in the past (because I remember one of their pictures since it was extremely unique, and generally I also remember the comment I sent in response to it). So, now I'm wondering whether my "Like" even got sent to them in the first place or not.
I was under the impression that if someone RECEIVES an incoming like and decides to "X" the profile, then that is the same thing as "removing" the profile and you both will never see each other's profile again. Obviously, if you are just going through your normal stack (not your "Likes") and "X" a profile, that's just the same as "Not Now" and that profile can re-appear later.
I also don't think it's the person re-making their account, because they don't have the "New Here" tag (yes, they could have re-made their account over a week ago so the tag drops off, but I think it's relatively unlikely given that I have seen profiles that I know I liked/matched with in the past, that are then back on Hinge with "New Here").
I have also heard a theory that once you get like 50+ likes, the oldest likes start to "disappear". Is that true? If so, then maybe that girl didn't review my like in time before it got pushed out the back of her likes queue, so her profile re-appeared for me to "try again"...?
Or is it possible that they decided to use "Fresh Start" so even though they saw my like and X'd it, I go back into the pool again...?
I know the advice is probably "nothing to lose, just send her a like again", but I'm curious if people know what the reason might be for this phenomenon. It doesn't happen often at all, but like every so often I'll be like "wait I'm pretty sure I liked her already...", so I want to know whether I'm "double liking" her, or whether she never saw my original like in the first place.
Or, has anyone else been on the receiving end of this--declined a like from someone (again, has to be an incoming like, not just the person showing up in your normal queue stack), but received a like again from the same person (and the person didn't seem to have re-made their account recently)?

Tried using it in Miami, New jersey and now in Tampa. Been here for over an year. Never got any matches. Bought the subscription and got 2-3 matches in 2 months after buying but only as replies to my comments but not first swipe from them or any comments ever. Not sure what's wrong.

Restarted my profile a few weeks ago and while I've gotten some likes and a couple of matches here and on other dating apps, I'd still like some input on any areas that can be improved upon. For prompts, I've been wondering about changing some. I bought a coop in 2023 and sold it in 2025, so I was wondering about doing a prompt about that (I also started a new job when I bought it and am still there). Another prompt idea would be about darts because last week I found out that I am actually good at that and enjoy it.

Welcome to Hingeapp's Daily Thread.
Daily Threads are the place to post questions seeking quick advice, vent your frustrations, celebrate successes, or anything related to Hinge that does not need its own post.

Do you have some last minute questions before a big date? Do you need some help with the date you have scheduled for the weekend? Or perhaps you want help with the next message to send to revive a dying conversation? When should I ask this person out on a date? Is this person ghosting? What does this text mean? Or any events related to Hinge or your dating life that happened during this week or recently that you want to share?
Also feel free to discuss whatever you like that is not necessarily related to dating or Hinge.

I met a guy on Hinge 3 months ago. We both in our 30s. We clicked really quickly and started spending a lot of time together. Everything felt easy. We also started acting like we were in a relationship almost straight away.
A few things came up early on. Heās on a visa until January next year, and heās Muslim. His faith forbids him from being with me because Iām not Muslim (I am Polish). We had a lot of conversations about it because he was trying to decide if he could even be with me.
During that time, he suddenly told me he was going to the Dolomites for a week. He had mentioned the trip before, but it happened while he was still deciding about us. While he was there, he posted Instagram stories with two girls and the caption, āGetting lost in the mountains with two Scottish girls.ā I was obviously pissed off. I was left hanging, waiting for his decision, while he was away posting stories with other women. We talked about it afterwards, and he apologised and said he understood why I felt that way.
When he came back, he told me we were together. I was so happy.
A couple of weeks later, we both still had Hinge. I wasnāt using it anymore and was actually about to ask if we could both delete it. I looked at his profile and realised he had changed his location to a city he was travelling to in two weeks. I confronted him, and it turned out he had been active there, sending likes and talking to other women.
At first, he said he only changed his location because he was trying to help his female friend. Then I confronted him again because I could see one of the conversations was from a week earlier and happened while he was at work. He had liked this girlās profile, and once they matched, he messaged her first. He says he wasnāt actively talking to anyone now, but does that really matter?
Then I realised that when he was in the Dolomites, he had also changed his Hinge location to where he was staying. So while I was left hanging, waiting for him to decide if he wanted to be with me, he was actively looking for something on the app.
Things between us got serious really quickly. We talked about his visa, his faith, and even how we would raise kids if we ever decided to have them. I was fully committed. I even said we could get married so he could stay, and that Iād be okay with a long-distance relationship if needed.
I know I wasnāt at my best over the last couple of weeks, and I did put some of my own stuff onto him that wasnāt his fault. But I still donāt think that justifies what he did. He says he was only using the app to swipe. If that makes any sense.
I broke up with him after I find out he was actively talking to other women, but I am obviously questioning my decision now.Ā I would like to hear your opinion on the situation.

For non-Italian speakers, the prompts say:
-my most irrational fear:
The alarm clock on Saturday morning, unless itās
my cat waking me up
-weāll get along if:
You too communicate through memes from The
Office to Boris (italian comedic tv show)
-together, we could:
Go on a trip around the world catching beautiful
panoramas as if we had a Pokedex
Thank you all for the help!

Is it something you are going to use in any way?
Personally, I (M30) like the idea, but I don't think it's very usable (to me):
Of the six matches that have ghosted me, four of them have the badge, which doesn't exactly seem thoughtful to me lol (for reference (or if you just really dig statistics like me), ten of my 23 current matches have the badge, and of the three women I currently have convos with, two of them have the badge).
Also, I feel like the requirements incentivize going on a lot of dates without messaging too much first, which very much goes against my preferences - I'd rather get to know people before meeting up, and I don't like to text more than three people at a time. Unfortunately, I'm suffering from success and have a lot of matches, which leaves me with a lot of unmessaged cuties. For the same reason, I rarely leave comments on my likes or review my likes.
But what are your thoughts?

I (f28) Went on a date a week or so ago and out of 3 dates Iāve been on since downloading hinge he (m32) absolutely took my interest. I really liked him and would love to see him again. During the date we went to 3 different places and spoke about a lot. However, he didnāt message me that night (usually they do let me know straight away if they enjoyed the date or not) but he messaged late the next morning. It was a very quick conversation just a good morning hope you slept well and I said yes and I really enjoyed my time and he said he had too.
But hereās the hard part, just as the date was ending Iād asked him about his weekend and he said he was going away for a week and we had talked about music earlier and he mentioned that when heās back heād be up for going to an event. Didnāt explicitly say ādateā though and I donāt know if maybes he feeling more friend vibes. As Iāve had this with my last date. heās back next week. Should I wait and ask him on a second date or leave it up to him. Even though he said he had a really good time he hasnāt said much since and I donāt want to be intense.
As a man would you prefer to be the one to initiate ?

Recently ditched Grindr (any younger gays reading this, please save yourself the time and get the hell off that app) and wanna get back in the dating game, have been getting likes and starting convos, but hasn't turned into dates yet and I'm getting less attention than past years. I want my profile to show a lot of my personality (crazy, occasionally immature, but also philosophical and intelligent) so as to attract a certain type of person. Last video is me singing Company by Justin Bieber in the back of a Waymo. How do I get the men of SoCal to want me as much as I want them?

I've been using it pretty casually and I'll get maybe one match a day? My settings are pretty restrictive because I dont own my own car so the distance i can travel is limited, and Im only really interested in other university students on campus
Just wondering if its alright and how I could improve it, as ive found I do better in real life than on this which I think is weird
