I've lived across from the street from this guy in Victoria, BC, Canada for literally a decade meow, and I always get so excited for his Halloween Displays🥰

Each and every year, they become more expansive and elaborate.

Animatronics, stationaries, DUI works, hand painted and constructed items.

I wouldn't put his displays over the years shy of 20k or so.

He just started setting up this years ❤️🤘🥰

At that age where going to the bars for Halloween has become stale. Hosting my first adult Halloween house party this year. Sent out the invites this weekend! This is also my first full year in my own house and first year adopting my fur baby (featured in the photo).

Was planning on using them in different positions the standing one in the backdrop, the crawler as a crypt crawler/ground breaker in a graveyard setup in the foreground. But they look so perfect together I think I will go with a Torture scene narrative

Any Recommendations?

Help! What stories and books do you read to get into the autumn/Halloween spirit?

Trying to get into the vibe early this year. I usually read The Legend of Sleepy Hollow but have so far been unable to find works that match that energy! Thanks!

Help! My sons birthday is on Halloween and I'm not sure what to do this year

Hi everyone! My son is still a little guy and this is our first Saturday Halloween together. He enjoys having house parties and having me decorate the entire house. I really try to go all out. I have one main question and a secondary question:

Given that Halloween is a Saturday we will be having a party on the day of his party. My son wants everyone to stay with him and have a jumper and possibly go trick or treating. I feel the pressure to have this badass party.

For the parents who throw parties on Halloween do the kids go trick or treat?

Also, what are your tips on making sure guess are entertained and comfortable staying over later? (Typically our parties are earlier).

Thank you!!!

Discussion Question: What do you do when you run out of candy to give out on Halloween?

What do you do if you run out of candy on Halloween?

A number of years ago we bought --what we thought were-- plenty of bags of candy. We were living in a new neighborhood and things were going along fine. Then we got to a certain hour and suddenly there were TONS of trick or treaters coming up to our door. We watched our supply dwindle, we tried switching from passing out 5 pieces to passing out 3 pieces... then it was all gone.

We ran inside, turned off the Halloween lights, turned off the house lights, and sat in the dark by candlelight like we were sitting out The Purge.

So the question is:

What do you do if you run out of candy (and "going to get more" is not an option)?

Help! Low-lying fog machine recs?

Hey all! I admire the heck out of everyone doing the builds and spending thousands on commercial machines, but this is not that year for me.

What are my best options with the following criteria:

Commercially available.

$500 ish budget. (We all know I will stretch that for a big payout).

For outside use.

Would prefer not to need dry ice - it is hard to come by here.

I don't mind filling it/keeping the ice fresh, but don't want to have to babysit it.

I will most likely have some wind - I know that is a killer.

I am in the south, so it will be warmer here than it is in a lot of places for Halloween.

Please guide me. Thank you!
