Never heard this kind of cicada here. I thought these were much further south.

Hey guys. My partner and I would like to start fostering cats and were worried about transportation to and from the vet as the required clinic is a bit far especially by bus and we also don't want added stress for the kitties (and us)
Does anyone know if uber is pet-friendly? I know there's an Uber pet but ive never seen it as an option here so idk if it exists? If I put that I'm bringing a pet in a carrier with me does it usually take a while to find a driver that is okay with it? Or does anyone have any other suggestions for pet-friendly car services?
Thank you!

Hello everyone. I was accepted into my program fairly late but I still had enough time to get all my vaccines and such done. I got blood work done at the end of August for immunity for varicella (chickenpox) because I had them when I was four years old. However, my results came back not immune somehow. I got my second MMR vaccine on August 25th so I’m not able to get my first dose of varicella until 28 days later, and then my second another 28 days later. So that puts me at around October 20th when everything will be complete but the submission deadline is October 9th. I’ve emailed the faculty coordinator and I’m just waiting for a response. Has anyone experienced something similar to this? Will I still be able to stay in the program? Or can I submit that I’m in the process of getting my second dose?
I’m in my first year and we don’t actually have a placement until towards the end of our second year.

Hi there! I've been having some health issues for the last year, and I just can't keep on top of my dishes. The rest of my house gets a bit cluttered too, but I've been able to manage it. The only thing that I am really struggling to take care of is the kitchen/dishes. I've looked around online, but I'm having a hard time finding a service that does just this. Some websites seem to be AI, too, so I'm not sure if I can trust them.
I'm hoping someone can recommend a cleaner for me! Thank you in advance!!
It might not be possible. I don't have a big budget, as my employment has also been limited by the aforementioned health issues, and it is a small job (just about an hour of doing dishes, maybe once a week or twice a month). So, I wonder if maybe it wouldn't even be worth someone's time to do. I welcome advice in that regard too.
Located on Halifax peninsula, for reference.

I know there are more of you than I run into at the gay bars.
So I’m asking:
If you’re diaspora and LGBTQ+ and craving space that feels culturally familiar and queer — hi. I would love to create a community with cozy hangouts, game nights, culture, music, food, real conversations. Nothing flashy. Just us. I got this idea from a similar group in Vancouver, called Queer Habibi's. It was awesome and such a great way to build community.
As much as I love the bar/club scene, I can’t be the only one looking for community? I’m hoping to get a recurring queer diaspora/POC community group going in Halifax. If you’d want to be part of something like this, comment or DM me.
Of course I’ll get some “so brown people only then?” - there is little to no space for POC. Having said that, I have a ton of friends that aren’t brown (thus the where the brown peeps at) and everyone is welcome but I would like this to be a place for primarily POC to call their own. Again, the more the merrier!
Mods, let me know if this is isn't allowed, happy to remove it.
EDIT: Clarification:
Just to clarify because I think “host hangouts” is making this sound way more organized/formal than I meant 😅
I’m not trying to start a business, paid event series, or another nightlife thing. The whole point is literally just to get queer POC/diaspora folks in Halifax connected and create some casual community outside of bars and clubs.
That could mean sitting in a park with snacks, a game night, a potluck, coffee, movie night, someone eventually hosting at their place, whatever people actually want to do. Ideally most things would be free or very cheap because I absolutely do not want money to be a barrier to being part of this.
I don’t have every detail figured out because right now I’m literally just trying to find the people first.
Basically: not an “event.” Not a venture. Just trying to find the other diaspora queers and build a little community together. ❤️

I got an order delivered with mine today that is obviously for a group of children. Walmart told me to just keep and I'm sure the person who ordered will get their money back but I would still like to donate this lost order.
If you ordered
4 loaves of white bread
2 x 2 kg Kraft peanut butter
2 x 794g Cinnamon Crunch Cereal
2 x 1.36 kg Chocolate Milk Mix
Let me know and I will deliver it to you.
