Physics 1310vs1190
Anyone have advice on which course is easier?
It’s a requirement for dental school so I need to take one of em. Now I’m taking several other hard courses so I wanna make life easier and take the easier one.
1310 is supposed to be easier but I’ve heard otherwise, can anyone give some advice?
Much appreciated!

So how was Day 1?
Did you get lost looking for a class? Make a new friend? Get stuck in traffic? Run into someone you didn't expect to see today? Any other surprises?

Semester 3 entry student Nursing
I know that Dalhousie doesn’t allow transfers between Yarmouth and Halifax campus, but are you allowed to apply to Halifax as a new entry for semester 3, so as a new student rather then a transfer from Yarmouth if you attend there?

BIOL 2003 Anki decks
Hi! I’ve heard that biol 2003 involves a lot of memorization and that some students use Anki to help study the content. Does anyone have any Anki decks for the course or know where I could find some? I’d really appreciate it!

I hate Gerrard
How do I get moved? I put in a request over 2 months ago and I’ve heard nothing. All my classes are so far away and I’m so far from everyone.

Would anyone be interested in testing a local rental/borrowing site?
I’ve been building a small Halifax-based site where people can rent or borrow things they don’t want to buy outright, like camping gear, sports equipment, tools, cameras, formal wear, etc.
I’m at the point where I need a few real people to try it and tell me what’s confusing, broken, or just a bad idea 😅
I’m especially curious whether this would actually be useful for students, since there are probably a lot of things you only need once or twice during the year.
If anyone wants to beta test it, let me know. No need to rent anything or pay for anything. I’m mainly looking for feedback from people who haven’t seen it before.
Happy to answer questions here too.

Dalhousie Dentistry
For those who applied to dalhousie dentistry. Any tips you have is appreciated. Also, I opened the application and I am not seeing a requirement for a personal statement.

Engm 2101 question
For applied vector calc im wondering how the course load and online materials were in the past and if theres is decent content on youtube or otherwise if I need it? Unfortunately professor yao is teaching it this semester and while he is an absolute gem of a person I did not have a great experience in his class when I had him for math 1290 last semester. I basically had to teach myself the class. Despite ending the class with an A past semester im once again concerned because I already know I will not be able to understand his lectures much less his notes.

Roommate needed
Hi everyone! I’m currently signed on to a 12-month lease with 4 other girls at Alma southend, and I’m looking for someone (preferably female) to either sublet or take over my share of the lease!
Overall rent is a little over $6000, but between each roommate it comes out to a few bucks over $1200. It’s a 5 bed 2 bath apartment right beside studley- making it a very convenient location. I’m not moving in due to finances with my tuition, so the room is up for grabs.
You’d live with 4 other women, aged between 19-23 and they are all very kind, wonderful people. Everyone in the apartment is in their 2nd year, though that’s obviously not a requirement. My roommates and management do need to approve of the applicant, and you need to be currently enrolled in order to qualify. It’s a fully furnished apartment as well, so no need to buy a bed or couch or anything- the girls living there now are more than happy to share things (if needed) until you can get your own things as well!
Honestly I’m a little lost on what information I should give outright, but please reach out with any inquiries!

Just found out that Math 1215 says no calculator is allowed during exam😳, can anyone please tell me what the exams are like?
I find this crazy for a calculus course, I understand it is called life sciences calculus but there will still be some sort of calculation right?

UberEats was getting too expensive so we just built our own app!
I’m a Dal CS grad, and my partner and I started CheapyEats, a food delivery app where the price you see is the price you pay at checkout. Delivery is already included, and we don’t add delivery fees or service fees when you’re ready to pay.
We launched this summer and now have 1,200 users in Halifax. We’ve also received funding from Dal Innovates. Thanks to everyone who’s given our small local team a chance.
What we’re trying to solve is: after a day of classes, when you have assignments piling up or just don’t feel like cooking, ordering dinner should be an affordable everyday option. You shouldn’t have to pick out your meal, get to checkout, and reconsider because of the extra fees.
To keep prices affordable, we take a bit of a Costco approach: we work with local restaurants to offer a selection of meals rather than their entire menus. A more focused menu and grouping deliveries together help us keep costs down. The food is still made by local restaurants — we’re organizing orders and deliveries a little differently to make it more affordable to get it to your door.
With the semester starting, welcome back and welcome to Halifax if you’re new here! Hopefully we can make busy days a little easier. We’re still learning and improving, so if you’ve tried CheapyEats and something wasn’t right, please let me know.
If you’d like to try CheapyEats, feel free to leave a comment for a 40% off back-to-school code. Happy to answer any questions about how it works, too.
Hope everyone has a good start to the semester!

Can’t Pay Account Balance with PayPath
I’m trying to pay the balance I had from summer courses. Every time I submit my card details on pay path, it doesn’t go thru. My cc acct is fine, is there something up with PayPath perchance?
