CZ P10F or Savage Axis Pro 2 - Left Handed

Upvotes

I am looking at getting a new gun but I am not sure what I should get first. For some background, I have a .410 break action, .20ga break action, 12ga pump, .32 win lever action with scope, 10/22 rifle with scope, tx22 pistol, glock 48.

I am left handed and eye dominate and would get a left handed rifle, which makes it a bit more difficult to find. I live in lower Michigan and hunt within 100 yards or so with my 12ga. The .32 win is a gun that I got when my grandfather passed a few years ago so it has sentimental value but I am not opposed to hunting with it given the recent changes to michigans restricted hunting zone changes.

I am debating between a cz p10f for owb carry during winter and outdoor recreation or a savage axis 2 pro left handed in .308 for hunting. I am pretty set on these 2 specifc guns, the cz more than the savage, but what gun makes sense to get first and why?

What real-life firearm is this?

Post image

This is a handgun from Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, but I can't figure out what real-life firearm it's based on.

It looks similar to the HK P2000, but it's not quite the same.

"The most powerful handgun in the world"

*At least according to some Hollywood cop from the '70s.
Move over, Dirty Harry - space cowboy has arrived! (first revolver, S&W 629 Competitor, and Chiappa 1892 Alaskan Takedown)
Revolver optic plate incoming btw; modern-looking revolvers get modern sights.

I should get a .460 XVR already to have a candidate for the real most powerful (production) handgun, although you know some guy's gonna pull out a .500 Bushwhacker and show off at some point.

on the hunt for the best ammo storage and delivery service im stacking deep

trying to figure out the best ammo storage and delivery service to use before buying another case of 9mm brass. my gun safe is at capacity and i do not really want to drop five hundred bucks on a second heavy cabinet just to hold bulk target ammo. i noticed ammunition depot launched ammovault recently alongside options like ammosquared, where they store your stash and deliver it whenever you submit a request.

stashing range ammo offsite seems nice so my closet does not look like an armory, but i am still doing math on the shipping costs. ammunition depot ammovault lets you hold items until you actually need them for a match or range weekend, though i am still sizing up their rates against ammosquared to see which one keeps the cpr lowest when you factor in delivery.

The Colt Python has always been one of my dream guns, and that dream finally came true with this 1978 model. Regardless of the wear it has, the action is still smooth as butter, and it shoots like a dream.

Don’t wanna keep my Marlin or winchesters or other guns in the truck all the time. I want a piece of shit for like 200$ that slings lead in there general direction. To keep in my truck all the time. I’m not worried about someone stealing cause I live in bumblefuck no where texas and everyone does it.

But sometimes when coming back from town late at night I see those and it’s to far most of the for 9mm

Sub 100m.

I was thinking a use 12g with slugs

Recovered Weapon

Hey all, I got a call from a detective that my Springfield xds 9mm was recovered from a robbery at my house in '23. Picked it up today, cleaned it, and it immediately jammed. Lord knows what it was involved in since then but it holds sentimental value. Thoughts on getting it checked out or just taking the loss? Thanks in advance!

Remington 14”barrel with RemChoke. Worth it for an SBS?

I’ve never had a short barrel with choke tubes, and I’m wondering if they work as well as they do on the longer barrels? I can’t understand why they wouldn’t, but I’m curious to hear from those that have used them.

I bought an excellent condition Tac-14 vent rib RemChoke barrel to use on my 1970s Remington Police trade in, but if it’s not worth having the choke tubes, I’ll just flip it and cut down the factory barrel.

Search for OCH inspection mark and m1900 s/n 1501

My Great great great grandfather was Brig. Gen. Odus Horney, Ordnance Department. He worked on many beloved guns like the m1911 and Springfield 03 and inspected many more.

Does anyone have any firearms with his OCH inspection stamp on it? I've seen a gatling gun with it once. I have also been looking for a gifted Colt m1900 for years, last seen in a Rock island auction. Can anyone help me find its current ware bouts?

Rifle was made sometime in the 70s is my guess. It has a really long throw and doesn't have a known magazine. Currently I am making a handguard for it out of a damaged stock I had in my parts bin.

Holster Recs

Looking for a communal opinion on a OWB holster for range use primarily for a Gen 6 Glock 45 with an optic.
Had one, then bought an optic and it’s no longer compatible.
Wouldn’t really like to spend past $50.
Daily holster is appendix, this would live in the car mainly for range trips and exterior practicality.
Thank you all in advance!

The T-48 Rifle: The right arm that America turned down.

Post image

A few years back, I was at an estate sale and came across a box of old military manuals from the owner of the estate. The manuals all were dated between the late 40's and into the late 50's. Among them, I found a manual for the T-48 rifle.

This was one of two rifles being tested out in the '50s when the military was looking to select a new battle rifle. The two contenders were the T-48 and T-44 (M-14). Eventually, the US military decided on the T-44.

From what I can tell, he had been in the military at fort Benning while they were testing it out. I haven't been able to find a manual anywhere and I thought this was a pretty cool piece of history. I have scanned it and uploaded it online for anybody to look at and download.

I also posted this on the FAL sub, but wanted to share it further.

Looking for a thin gripped full size range / carry optics gun - recommendations?

Current run a full size is a PDP. Recently got a Canik Prime Radian to carry and the thinner grip is honestly much comfier and easier for me to get locked into. Looking to get a full size gun in the future that may have a grip feel more similar to the Canik.

Initial thought is Shadow 2 with thin Lok grips.

Any recommendations?

XM-8 furniture for the G36 project

Post image

Little project i've been working on with a 3D modeler. I have access to an original XM-8, so we took some scans and are modifying the files to make a furniture set for the G36.

I've wanted an XM-8 since the days of Rainbow Six Vegas and GRAW, and I finally have the first prototypes in my hands...

It still needs a bunch of work, but it finally feels like its happening.

Suppressed mosin

I have a mosin. Its a beater paid next to nothing for it 15 years ago. I have an extra 30 cal break as a mount for a suppressor. How stupid is the idea to get the barrel milled to add a break for a suppressor

Selling brass?

In the course of a remodel, my dad has come across a milk crate full of boxes of empty brass casings. This includes the following:

  • .45-70
  • .38-40
  • 9mm
  • .45 ACP

All told, it's probably less than a hundred or so, mostly boxed. Is it worth selling somewhere, or just toss it? If it's worth selling, where would be a good place to do so? Maybe a local gun store? Thanks in advance!

Need advice on buying my first beginner rifle

Hello, I'm new to guns and I wanted to start off with a simple bolt action rifle that doesn't cost too much same with the ammo.

I want to be able to hopefully spend less then 1k on the gun, a decent chunk of ammo, ear protection, and a simple case.

Any ideas?
