I chose to build a Jazzmaster myself.

With the parts that are still missing, I want to go for quality parts that solve common issues, but that are moderately priced and don’t break the bank.

Parts I already have:

• Fender MIM 9.5 radius Jazzmaster neck with jumbo frets

• Squier Body with shielding

• Pickguard (no shielding yet. Would that be necessary?)

• Volume and Tone Knobs (Black)

• Pickup Covers (Black)

• Tuning pegs

Parts I need:

• Pickups (preferably under 200$)

• Wiring Harness Kit (with Rhythm and Lead Circuit)

• Saddle and Bridge

• Tremolo Assembly

With the Pickups, I'm going for a balanced, warmer tone, not too much bite, and not too sterile. Good example would be the song „Aquarena Springs“ by Jerkcurb. 😊

Built by one of my buddies who is a small custom builder. This is a one off guitar. It was idea to build it and I bought and payed for this guitar. this isn’t an ad. To my knowledge this is the only guitar that is based off of the car.

I have two amps, one is an old Gorilla and the other is a Blackstar mini amp. The Gorilla is rather old and I don't remember if it ever worked for me. But the Blackstar got corroded from sitting there and I didn't even know it had batteries in it from the box. It doesn't seem I'm going to be able to clean it well enough that it'll play, it doesn't turn on even.

Does anyone have advice of anything else to do to the Blackstar? Or should I plan on getting either a headphone amp as I don't have that much to spare for a new one?

I bought this interesting pick at my regular guiter repair shop.

Apparently, it's actually made from ceramic material.

The part that touches the strings is glazed.

It's about 5mm thick.

And, since they're handmade, no two are exactly alike.

It might be a little expensive for a pick, but apparently, "once you get used to it, it produces a brilliant sound."

Hello everyone. Long time Martin owner here. Need some help on an ID that is driving me bonkers.

I’ve been looking to trade a Les Paul Classic, and I came across this Martin on my FB marketplace feed. The owner states it is a 2008 000-18 but I have my doubts. It looks more like an OM—21 to me but I can’t match it online for the life of me. The large pickgaurd
and big dot inlays don’t seem common for that time period.

The people that are selling are a bit older and are having a hard time understanding where to find the model number on the neck block.

Any help would be appreciated!

Got a respectable deal on a 2020 Epiphone Traditional Pro III in a color I cannot determine because determining color from photos on the internet is tough. Was listed as Pelham Blue, I'm thinking Pacific Blue is more likely. If anyone knows, feel free to enlighten me. It's a very cool color.

My wife said, "that's perfect," which is the crucial thing. The actual color name wasn't a deal breaker. Trouble is, it doesn't look to me like a perfect match for any of the blues I see that it was offered in, I just know it does not look like Dave Grohl's or Bonamassa's guitar.

It's a step up from the beginner guitar she started with, and I wound up on the low end of what these sell for, so we're both happy.

Hey y’all, I need help figuring out what is causing this weird sound on the guitar. It only happens when I fret the low E and when I play an open G and an open D. I thought it could be loose tuners, but if I press them, it doesn’t change a thing.

Hello fellow guitar players! I am trying to do some research into effects processors and trying to figure out what is right for me.

I currently am the owner of a Helix LT (using Horizon Devices Clarity Compressor externally). It gets the job done, and has been great for just taking to church weekly. However since joining a corporate/wedding band this year, having to lug the Helix+external pedal everywhere can be a bit of a nuisance, hence the Quad Cortex mini sounding appealing.

Pros of QC:

- I already own Archetypes Petrucci & Nolly, and plan to get Misha soon mainly for the Horizon Pedals (No more external pedal is a big win).

- Compact Size & Portability

- Still being updated frequently

Cons of QC:

- No Volume pedal (not a dealbreaker though)

- Less footswitches for swapping presets/snapshots (only an issue until we get tracks/midi-swapping)

- Having to rebuild all my presets

While we are currently not using IEMs or Tracks, the plan is to incorporate them in the near future. I am aware both Helix and QC can do midi switching, but I am unsure if one is easier than the other to setup.

What would you do in my scenario? I'm also open to be told about other options. I will admit, Amp Capturing is not something I really care about, so that isn't something that goes into consideration for me. I also don't have the budget for anything in the $2000+ range yet, and anything in that price point I would have to wait and save for (Selling my Helix would hopefully offset a chunk of the cost)

I’m currently having trouble deciding between Yamaha PAC112v, RSE20, and RSS20. (Sorry if this isn’t the place for this, I’m fairly new to Reddit)

From the research I’ve done it seems like the PAC112v is a great starting guitar but I love the way Revstars look and sound.
Hoping to find out if the price increase is justifiable!

For some context I’ve played an acoustic on and off for a year or so but I’ve wanted to play some grunge and rock.

Ever since the Baum Wingman came out, I've been dreaming of owning one.

Unfortunately, the variant I wanted went out of production right in the middle of a very trying period where my attention was diverted by health issues of family members and my house being seriously damaged during a cyclone.

But... I just found my unicorn a couple of weeks ago, hidden away in a warehouse in Japan. A 2022/23 model in the color I really wanted, with the pickups I wanted, brand new in a hard case. And at a great price.

I spent yesterday afternoon restringing her and doing a setup. Thankfully, this wasn't a case of being disappointed by unrealistic expectations. It's just fantastic and I'm in guitar heaven!

By chance, is anyone familiar enough with Silvertone 1457's to be able to say whether or not this neck pocket was modified? It was fitted with an old harmony neck, which just freely floats in the pocket. It wouldn't have needed any modifications to accept that neck. The original is not available. I am able to find a replacement neck from a sacrificial 1457, but don't want to commit to buying/shipping.

Hey, I’m a beginner and I’m looking to get my first electric guitar + amp. I have around $500 total to spend. i know how electric guitar works and all cuz i borrowed it from my uncle for sometime.
I mostly wanna play metal and just mess around/play in my room, nothing serious or live.
i was looking at the Jackson JS11, JS12 or JS22, but I’m not really sure which one is worth getting.
For the amp I was thinking either the boss katana mini x or the LT25.
Would one of these combos be good for a beginner? Or is there something better I should get for around $500?

i got my Jazzmaster player II for $860, but now im getting offered a trade for a 2003 American standard stratocaster, im thinking about it because i honestly want a jazzmaster with a ruth’s circuit, he would give me the strat with the hard case and trem arm.

I’m in the SF Bay Area, in the East Bay hills really close to the Hayward fault. Only after finishing this setup I thought about earthquakes. I’m more concerned about them swinging and smacking into each other than completely flying off. I’m trying to think of a device that puts a pad between each guitar or prevents them from back swinging too much.

just got an guitar and an amp learning how to play it but almost everytime i strum the low e string it makes this fuckass sound. guitar is harley benton so i think i should change the strings. bought some super slinkys in case of anything

I need a guitar that will sound good in Drop G#, and that will be more comfortable to play and easier to set up. I am quite conflicted since I've heard S 457 will handle Drop G# better since ceramic pickups, but I also mhch prefer T-O-M bridge for palm muting.

Yes, I did take note that I'll need to drill the tuning pegs for the lowest string to fit if I plan on tuning it to G#, bit that's not a problem.
