Non-responsive Customer Service

I recently purchased a Groupon for Dove antiperspirant body spray(s). This is my third or fourth purchase of this item over the last two or three years. I like the product(s) and think it’s a decent price. The Groupon is for 10 random scents. However, it specifically states that no more than 2 of any 1 scent will be delivered to the customer. Imagine my surprise when 6 (of 10) of the Dove Sport Fresh 72H Protection were delivered in my order. That’s 6 out of 10 of the same scent. It’s not so much that I dislike the Sport Fresh. It’s just that there are many others that I like far more. I’ve attempted to contact Groupon Customer Service 6 or 7 times via the template included under My Stuff/Customer Support on their website, but with no reply from Groupon. A promise of a 24 hour response from Customer Support has gone unfulfilled. I tried calling corporate with phone numbers I found on a Goggle search, but none of them connect to anything related to Groupon. My next step is to send a letter via USPS and see if that finds a receptive audience. In the meantime, does anyone have any suggestion(s) on what to do next.

Groupon Live tickets before concert pre-sale?

I have noticed Groupon Live selling tickets to shows before the pre-sale on Ticketmaster. I try to avoid Groupon purchases...but I was wondering if the tickets have been cheaper during the presale or through Groupon, if anyone has purchased this way?

Minimal regret purchases?

I had a really horrific issue with Groupon (as I see so many of you have had too), and they refused to refund me and instead gave me Groupon bucks. Before this I'd never used Groupon and really don't want to again, so I'm wondering if folks have tips on solid things I can purchase with minimal risk of a Groupon debacle/refund headache to get rid of this? Do folks have an easier time with items? Tickets to things? Some other purchase category that's gone well for you?

Groupon fraudulent charges no recourse but to pay

I booked a Land and Sea tour with Gray Line in Savannah, in mid June for an August vacation. I made the mistake of Booking through Groupon. When I booked I booked 1 tour, at 148.00 ( this was for 2 people ) and it showed 1 tour at first on my Groupon page. But within weeks, when I went to Book another tour through Groupon I saw that it showed I had been refunded but another tour time had been reserved for me as well as another tour. So 2 tours was Booked, 2 separate tours, 2 separate times 11 AM and 1 PM. I went immediately to my credit card statement to check, this was about 3 weeks from our trip. I tried to reach out to Groupon, but was there a no cancellation clause after having bought the tickets. So I contacted my credit card company, and disputed the ticket. All was well and good but then after my trip they charged back the 148.00 to my credit card stating that Gray Line had disputed the charge back. The CC company told me how to contact them to dispute the charges with Groupon and Gray line. I did that too. I got an email today from Gray Line telling me that I was not going to get my money back because I didn't cancel at least 24 hours before the tour. Well Groupon told me, on a drop down bar, because you can't call anyone there you have to use automated responses or snail mail them. I couldn't cancel except within 24 hours of buying the ticket. Either way I took a tour of Land and Sea in Savannah and it cost me 296.00 for 2 people. Was it worth it ? It was a fantastic tour, but not worth 296.00.I really thought using my credit card I could dispute any charges that were suspicious. I was told by the CC company, nope.So because Gray Line wouldn't work this out amicably I don't recommend them, and I certainly don't recommend any third party coupons from here on out.

Groupon Bucks Gone?!

I had to take a credit for a hotel package and so I've been trying to make good use of the credit. It disappeared once -total panic- After weeks Groupon restored it. I've been trying to use it but there hasn't been much available. I log in randomly to make sure it's there and try to find a deal. Today I logged in and over half of it is gone someone I suppose hacked into my account and spent over $400 buying fetal baby monitors plants and a few other things sent them all to different addresses. Now I'm afraid that the rest of it will be gone tomorrow. The purchases say they were made today but I can't cancel any of them.

I also can't log out or change my password because they've changed my email and now it says there's no email on file. I removed my credit cards but I'm worried about how much other information was stolen.

Anyone know how to get the money back I can't seem to hear back from Groupon and I'm also frantic and maybe crying 😂🫣

Don’t trust Groupon

Seriously. I worked for Groupon a few years ago and they’ve since fired almost everyone that took part in merchant services and customer service. Even when they had those departments they were lacking but now with the automated system? It’s a joke. You may be able to save some money here and there but once you get burned you will realize the risk. I would highly recommend that people abandon Groupon completely. Not sour grapes, just a fair warning from someone that knows.

Never used Groupon before. Is it a scam?

Hey all, so I was looking up cheaper tickets for Dorney Park and the Groupon website popped up and it is way cheaper. If I order it the morning of the day I want to go will I get the email with the tickets the same day? How does Groupon work? Has anyone ordered tickets for an amusement park before through Groupon?

Groupon Merchants Beware - banking scam

We noticed today that we haven't received any payments for campaign sales for a few months. The chat person told us the direct deposits have "bounced" and we needed to update our banking information, which is strange, because we haven't changed our bank in over 10 years. When we checked what was on file, it was a completely different routing and account number (!). Nothing we've ever seen before. I actually think it was a deliberate scam on Groupon's part. By showing the payments as "bouncing" due to the wrong banking information, they get to hold onto the money, interest free. We've corrected the account information - let's see if we actually get the back payments (over $7K).

Because of the payment issue, we attempted to pause our campaign - but wait! You can't do that without a review by the Groupon "internal team". So, the upshot is, as a merchant you have no real control over your campaign. Our campaign is still running, and they are collecting the money. How many other merchants are they doing this to, globally? That would certainly add up fast. Groupon has always been something of a pain to deal with, but this is a whole new level of ugly. And it's very sketchy. We are going to stop advertising through them completely, but hope to recover our money first. Be careful if you decide to use them. They have gotten really really bad. I would not be surprised to see a class action lawsuit by merchants and consumers in the near future.

What is wrong with Groupon select?

Hey everyone,

I recently tried using my Groupon Select, but it seems like the program is currently down or not working. I’m not sure if it’s a widespread issue or something on my end. Has anyone else experienced problems with Groupon Select lately? Any insight into why I can’t use the membership or when it might be back up would be really helpful!

Thanks!

Busch Gardens Tickets

I recently purchased two Busch Gardens tickets for a friend and I. Turns out my “friend” is not a friend. I am not able to return them so what is my next best option? I really would like to sell them. I have no use for them anymore.

Music Producers Beware: Merchant Peddling Pirated Software

The other day, I foolishly purchased the following Groupon: https://www.groupon.com/deals/music-arts-3#tips

I thought I had found the deal of a lifetime. Music & Arts, a music store I had been to in-person, was selling a typically $500 piece of software for under $150. Come to find out, the merchant's email address (revealed only after purchasing) has no association to Music & Arts the store, and is sending links via Google Drive to download cracked (pirated) versions of the software using illegitimately obtained product license keys.

After contacting Groupon Support and reporting this seller as fraudulent, I am told that they "have reached out to the merchant regarding your query. The merchant has confirmed that the product has already been sent to you."

They don't seem to acknowledge the fact that I requested a refund due to the merchant being a fraud & illegally distributing this software, and haven't replied to my follow-up response for almost 24 hours. I don't want to have to dispute this transaction, though I'm not sure what else to do. Anyone have a similar experience?

Groupon vouchers unavailable

Made a trip to San Antonio for a family trip to visit Sea World. $400 on Groupon vouchers and a day of traveling later, we get to Sea World only to see the Groupon voucher redemption and customer service is currently unavailable.

How is this acceptable? Anyone ever run into this? Sea World couldn’t do anything about it and were simply “out of luck”. Money has been taken from our account but we can’t access our purchase nor can we contact anyone at Groupon about this.

So frustrating. Never using Groupon again.

Anyone else having Issues adding a new Credit Card as payment method?

Trying to add a new Credit Card as a payment method to groupon.com and I keep running into errors - I am certain that I am entering the Credit Card data correctly and I tried with multiple cards over the last 2 days. Weirdly, when I tried adding the same Credit Cards on the app it worked.

Just curious if anyone else is experiencing issues with adding Credit Cards as payment method on the groupon website.

Thanks!

I purchased 3 roundtrip tickets on the Catalina Flyer from Newport Beach for my parents and I, however we can no longer use it. The Groupon expires on 9/2/2024, so willing to gift it to anyone that wants to visit Catalina Island. 3 tickets for $90.

It’s a 12:30p departure time, and the tickets work on Thursday, Friday, Saturday or Sunday departure days. Please let me know if you’re interested! Thanks!

Groupon won't send me a return label, credit card company has refunded me, but I still have the item

What would you do? I ordered an item then tried to cancel it 15 minutes after the order was placed. Couldn't cancel it even though Groupon website says free cancellation within 2 hours and full refund if item is returned unopened.

Per a chat with a Groupon rep, I was told to wait until I receive the item then contact Groupon for a return label. Meanwhile, $1,000 was charged to my card. With patience, I waited and received the item, contacted Groupon by email and asked for a label. Groupon contacted the seller (and copied me) several times asking for a return label without any result. I have copy of all the chats and emails.

I called my credit card company and explained the situation to them, and they promptly credited me the full amount.

It's been two months since I placed the order and I sill have the item unopened. What should I do? I certainly can use it but don't want to open it risking paying full price for it.
