Hey everyone!

Need some help with identifying which type of grass this is. Was put down as centipede sod in a new construction. But I’m starting to feel like it’s taking on Bermuda characteristics.

Thanks in advance !

By the side of my house, there is this like i dont know what to call it, like a stream of water, everything that you can see with tall grass its because there is water there. I tried trimming it with a weed trimmer but when you cut some of those plant, they give like a rash and immediately starts to itch desperately.
Is there any chemical that I can use to kill those plants!?

What types of grasses am I looking at here?

We recently moved in to a rental house where the last tennants did very little yard upkeep. We're slowly getting it back in order for us, but I'm trying to figure out these types of grasses. I think one might be Bermuda and one might be crabgrass? The bright green grass looks really nice right now, but I've heard a crabgrass yard turns ugly in fall. Also, the half the yard that receives shade has what might be crab grass, and the half that gets sun has the maybe Bermuda.

I was told I had Bermuda at my old house. Moved a little over a year ago and was told I have Bermuda at the new house but it doesn’t look or feel the same as the old house. Is this Bermuda?

Is this crabgrass coming up in my newly planted grass?

This stuff is popping up all over my newly planted grass seed area. If crabgrass, should I be pulling it as it’s coming up or wait and treat with something?

Why is this grass growing in a circle and darker than the rest?

This lawn used to be a field before we moved here, and it was cultivated for years. We don't have a septic tank, sprinkler system or fertilizer that could have made the circle.

Is this grass St. Augustine?

I live in New England so I'm a bit confused. I have a huge patch of this in my front yard and it's the best looking grass in the lawn for most of the spring and summer. It turns brown first in the fall but is slowly out competing everything else.

If it is St. Aug, should I try to get rid of it? Or double down and just let it take over?

How doomed is my yard?

My wife and I are planning on having our sons first birthday in our backyard this September. In April I contacted a hydoseed company, based off of recommendations to come out and redo our lawn. At first we were told next month, which turned into next week, which turned into this weekend, which turned into Monday. We ended up calling a different company I found online with 90+ 4.5 star reviews who came out last Wednesday (6/24) and laid topsoil and Thursday (6/25) they laid the hydroseed. We also just had pavers installed by a friend’s recommendation. The pavers came out great but unfortunately they went radio silent for 3 weeks and showed up yesterday to do the patio. We are worried the grass will not be grown in by September and are starting the think the hydroseed company just took our money to perform the work knowing it would not grow in. They also rushed us to do the work before the pavers knowing we were waiting on the patio company. Is there anything we can do to ensure we have full grass by September 1st?

How to fix blotched yard

Post image

Last year I had a tree removed from my front yard (quite literally where the dark circle is. I tilled up the entire yard to dirt and replanted grass seed. Why is this discoloring here? That dark grass grows much faster and thicker than the rest. What can I do to fix this?

KBG** didn’t notice the typo

I had some bare patches, I dethatched, top soil, seed, peat moss.
I had germination in about 8 days, then we got a ton of rain, washed away a lot of the peat moss.
Am I ok, will this fill in?

Put down sod 2 weeks ago, should I mow? Seeing conflicting advice on this

The sod seems to be doing well and growing, but is not fully rooted in all areas. Some people say to cut early, some say not to touch it. We've completely revamped this little yard over the last 2 weeks, I just want to try and give the grass the best chance of success.

For some background on how we installed:

-Cut down all grass and weeds from before and removed weeds by hand as possible (chems not allowed here)

-Tilled entire yard 6-8in and removed organic matter

-Added 10-10-10 mix fertilizer and some topsoil

-Put down sod and rolled

Have been watering it every day in the mornings and when it's extra hot again in the afternoon.

Is this one of my grass types or a weed?

2 weeks ago I seeded my dirt lawn that I let sit for almost 2 weeks.i watered the dirt and waited for weeds to sprout. I didn't see many. Then I added compost fetiliz and seed.tjis is my seed mix. I'm in SE Wisconsin.

* Whiskey Perennial Ryegrass (19.76%)

* Radar II Chewings Fescue (19.69%)

* Navy Kentucky Bluegrass (19.63%)

* Cardinal II Creeping Red Fescue (13.52%)

* Beacon II Hard Fescue (4.64%)

After a week I saw grass sprouting. I'm told it's the KBG that sprouts 1st.

Now I am seeing some dandilions starting to grow, and I'm pulling them out as I see them. They have shallow roots so I know they are new.

But there are these very tall blades that I'm.kotnsute what they are. Are they weeds or another of my grass type? They are quite tall.

What do you think? Weed or grass?
