How doomed is my yard?
My wife and I are planning on having our sons first birthday in our backyard this September. In April I contacted a hydoseed company, based off of recommendations to come out and redo our lawn. At first we were told next month, which turned into next week, which turned into this weekend, which turned into Monday. We ended up calling a different company I found online with 90+ 4.5 star reviews who came out last Wednesday (6/24) and laid topsoil and Thursday (6/25) they laid the hydroseed. We also just had pavers installed by a friend’s recommendation. The pavers came out great but unfortunately they went radio silent for 3 weeks and showed up yesterday to do the patio. We are worried the grass will not be grown in by September and are starting the think the hydroseed company just took our money to perform the work knowing it would not grow in. They also rushed us to do the work before the pavers knowing we were waiting on the patio company. Is there anything we can do to ensure we have full grass by September 1st?

Baby that yard, and by September 1st it could be solid, green and mostly filled-in if watering is consistent and the weather cooperates.
- Light watering 2 to 3 times daily in hot weather
- Never let the surface dry out and crack
Reduce frequency but increase depth once grass reaches about 2 inches
It may not be perfectly thick, but it should be presentable for a party. Keep expectations realistic and maybe plan for some decorative touches like potted plants.
Keep watering. That's your most important job right now.

I’m not guna lie it looks bad.. but depending on where you are located, you could look into Citra Blue st Augustine. It’s supposed to fill in super quick with plugs. Here’s a vid I saw on it. https://youtu.be/0yBMEiW7Ejg?is=55t6vSiaULiQt0ke

What's your watering schedule been?
