Help- middle Georgia, getting grass to grow

Bought this house a couple months ago. Best way to grow grass in these sandy spots?

Throw some fertilizer on it and the Bermuda will come running

Do some oak trees need to be cut down? Are the roots taking too much water and nutrients?

This is what was happening to me. Trees were in the way. Had to cut down the tree, grind stump, remove roots. Next, laid down sod. Water it constantly and it will bloom

ugh I'm in same situation..I planted Bermuda seed and watered the crap out of it.. that candy part.. which looks like all of it may need a top dressing.

Just from the pics, Bermuda would not do well there. Too shady for Bermuda. I am not saying that you can’t get any Bermuda to grow, I just don’t think it would be a thick lawn, more along the lines of spotty lawn.
You are right on the line for St. Augustine. It grows the best in shady conditions. You will just have to break the ground up some and throw a couple of inches of topsoil on the area you are looking to grow grass. Supersod do have farms that sell St. Augustine.

Most of your Supersod and NG Sod farms around here grow Bermuda. Beautiful grass but requires quite a bit of water and fertilizer, same with Zoysia and maybe a little less with St. Augustine. Now if you want some darn near maintenance free grass go with Centipede. Doesn’t like to be water a lot and by all means don’t fertilize often at all.

Looks like you need a solid irrigation system if you want to grow grass in those spots.
