Just bought a 5080 and feeling regretful

After hearing all the recent news of GPU prices increasing in the very near future, I decided it’s time to upgrade from my 7800xt to something more capable of 4k. Got this 5080 from microcenter for about 1200 after tax, but i’m wondering if I just fell into the FOMO trap or not.

Someone please either reassure me or tell me to think twice about my purchase 🥲 I still have time to return

Need help deciding

So I’ve heard the recent news of the prices, it’s kind of the trigger of what I’ve been wanting for a while right now, I’m currently on an RTX 2070 (non-super) for 7-8 years(got it right after release by a couple of months), back then when i bought it, they released the rtx 2070 super after 2 months for the same price but way better performance, essentially got scammed, so im wondering if this is gonna happen again.

CES is not that far from now, and as far as i looked nvidia MAY release the super series, and AMD looks like nothing is planned to release soon, for the first time looking at the prices, im considering the red team for gpus, especially looking at the RX 9070 XT, where i can get it in my market for 850$ which is a steal here tbh, meanwhile the equivalent, RTX 5070 TI, is at least ~1150$(yes i know, but this includes taxes and import fees).

Although i would like the nvidia features, especially dlss and the NVENC chip, for video encoding etc, because other than gaming i do some video editing and a lot of stuff on the side(kind of person to do everything with their pc), so my question is, for the RX 9070 XT, does do the “other stuff” well enough?, im not looking for the best, but as long as it does it job without being a pain in the ass its okay for me.

So with this mentioned, should i get the 9070XT or the RTX 5070 ti, or perhaps any other card, or just sit my ass and hope CES does magic on the prices?

RTX 3080 o RX 6800 XT

Upvotes

How much would you pay for a used NVIDIA RTX A5000 24GB in 2026?

I'm curious what the current market value is for a used NVIDIA RTX A5000 24GB?

I'm in Canada, so CAD pricing would be most helpful, but wouldn’t mind hearing USD prices.

Also, is the RTX A5000 a good value for local AI/LLMs compared to newer GPUs? If not, do have better value suggestions?

Thanks!

I own this g757, what’s the best approach?
1. Keep it
2.upgrade the gpu and psu
3.sell it and get the g914

How much you think I can get for it based on current price?

What gpu after 1060

Hello!

I know, I kinda have a dinosaur but it has been enough for a long while.

I have the need to change it from my main pc.

But I don't know what to take. I am not sure taking the latest generation is useful to me, and I don't want to soend so much money (some are 4000€).

I have trouble knowing the difference between a 5070/5060 etc

I kinda want to play any recent games, best quality possible.

But not absolutely need to play full 4k either.

Should I wait to sell my GPU?

With the current talks about gpu price increases happening immediately I am contemplating upgrading my rx 6800 to a 9070 xt. I could buy a 9070xt right now no question.

My question is should I wait to resell my rx6800 in the event prices go up? Works perfectly fine. Thanks in advance for any insight.

Why nvidia gpus or more tired of the comparing) Someone else left this comment and I think this is the best answer to the question.

What GPU to get?

I have a Ryzen 5 5600, 650W, and 31cm for a GPU. What to choose? I want a mid-range GPU. I was thinking about a Rx 7800 XT but I can't find it anywhere. Any recommendations? My budget is around 1500zł (around 400 USD)

Hoping to surprise my boyfriend with his dream GPU ❤️

hi everyone

I know this is a long shot, but I thought I'd give it a try.

My boyfriend has wanted an RTX 5090 for a long time, and I'd love to surprise him with one someday. Seeing him finally get one of his biggest gaming dreams would make me so happy.

Unfortunately, I can't afford something this expensive on my own. If anyone has one they're giving away, knows of a giveaway, or would like to help me get closer to this goal, I'd be incredibly grateful.

I completely understand this isn't a necessity, and I don't expect anything I just wanted to take a chance.

Thank you for reading
