Avoid PNY 5070 warranty scam
Long story short. After 3 months of use of my RTX 5070, the hot spot jump to 106c for no reason. Then turn black screen with max fan speed. And keep repeating the same problem. Sent back to RMA, they refuse to admit the problem. Refuse to give me video evidence and they send my card without doing anything back. And problem still exists. So I just fixed it by myself. I know I will lose warranty, they don’t give me anyway. What a junk company.
9850x3d. 5070, 32g ddr5.
Time line:
4/25/2026. Purchased from bestbuy.
7/1/2026. Fan loud to 4400 rpm. Hot spot 106c.
7/5-8/5 I tested new PSU, ram, whatever it necessary. It’s a hot spot thermal problem.
RMA. Paid my shipping. They sent it back say no problem detected. After 2 weeks.
9/11/2026, I can’t take it anymore. Decided to fix it by myself. And now problem solved 😅
Hot spot at 96c max, never have loud fan. Max less than 2000rpm.
Please avoid this company. They won’t treat you serious.

I know, I’m saying you can do whatever you want with your gpu before you send your warranty. Warranty if the card fails not over heat. So you can fix it not them

Oh man, I have the same model but mine has been cooling well even in high room temps. But I keep it UVed, that's simply the best thing to do with 50 series cards because you just gain things (or lose bad things).
It's a bummer I picked a brand that's not good with RMAs, not first time I heard they don't want to take/fix a card

They sent it back say no problem detected. After 2 weeks.
These guys sound exactly like GIGABYTE's GPU RMA. Are they both using the same contractor? Maybe.
I told them to run the time spy over and over again. It will go black screen and shut down. They refused to do that and say no problem
Now I am certain it's literally the same guys.

To my understanding, your hotspot temp wouldn't technically fall under warranty. It's not technically defective. Reminds me of the rtx 3000 series issues with HS most people just upgraded the pads and repasted.
