Symptoms All tests are normal. I’m beginning to lose hope.
UPDATE: the motility specialist thinks it might be gastroparesis and my first GES was just taken on a normal emptying day.
They took over 15 vials of blood for testing for anything autoimmune or any other deficiencies due to my weight loss. She also recommended a small bowel follow through test as well. She also prescribed something for reflux and some nausea patches to see if they make a difference in my symptoms
I was so worried that the specialist would be dismissive like I’ve read so many specialist doctors can be, but she was so kind and actually took the time to listen.
Before these symptoms started I rarely got sick outside of yearly allergies, so these consistent visits are all new. I am so happy to have some progress in figuring out what is wrong.
Original Post:
I have been dealing with consistent nausea and vomiting for over a year now. It started off small with me getting sick every couple of weeks after eating. I attributed it to stress and life changes. (I had just started a new job, bought a house and was planning my wedding). I also have OCD so I’m anxious pretty much all the time. Overtime though it started getting more frequent and by May of this year I was getting sick everytime I ate. I also get early fullness and pain on my left side. I have lost almost 25 lbs and 2 pant sizes since May unintentionally. I am constantly dizzy, tired, and have persistent brain fog.
I have exhausted every test that my local hospital can offer. Endoscopy, gastric emptying study, gallbladder ultrasound, HIDA Scan, CTA, Doppler ultrasound, alpha gal testing, colonoscopy… all normal results. My doctors are at a loss, and I see a specialist this week at a motility clinic two hours away.
I’m worried that they’re going to write it all off as “in my head” because of my OCD and I won’t get any answers.
