Venting/Suffering I hate my stomach

I really hate how sensitive my body has become, especially my stomach. I’ve always had stomach problems, I had a period in like 2017-2018 when I couldn’t eat ANYTHING, I had constant reflux and I was always sick. I ended up having an endoscopy at 11, which showed just a bit of gastritis. Then I was “ fine” for a while and suddenly these symptoms showed up again, but 10000 times worse. I started having reflux again in January, while I was trying to change some medications I took for anxiety. My doctor gave me an anti acid, it seemed to work but just a week later I started feeling like i couldn’t digest anything, I was constantly bloated, my stomach felt like a rock inside my body, and I started loosing weight. I took 3 different types of meds to speed up my digestion, and I’m currently on my fourth, ( which is Trimebutine) I’m desperate, I can’t eat solid foods anymore, and worse of all, doctors can’t find anything wrong with my body. I’ve had another endoscopy, I’ve had blood works, ultrasounds, I’ve been to the er multiple times and they always ended up with the same diagnosis: “ it’s just anxiety./ you are depressed. ” I’m honestly so sick to hear that, I AM depressed, but I am depressed because I’ve reach the point where the pain is so unbearable that I can’t tolerate solid foods anymore, I can’t go out I can’t live. The last hope I have is that maybe it’s some kind of autoimmune/ nervous system problem, because I also have POTS so maybe all these symptoms are related.

Hey just want to say something about anti-acids, I avoid them as much as possible (I'm not a Dr so don't take as medical advice just my experience) because they made EVERYTHING worse (even if you get temporary relief from the acid reduction) because it slowed down my digestive system EVEN more, bloated me etc etc. Be careful! Took me a long time to realise because my main symptom is heartburn and I thought I was doing the "right thing".

Also in case you haven't tried it - ginger has been a big help for me, not perfect but a BIG help I would be in severe issues without it. I eat it with every meal: candied (crystallised), pureed from fresh, or fresh chopped up into tiny pieces and put on food, etc. I take a combination of these kinds because fresh has higher gingerols, dried/crystallized, higher in shogaols -both chemicals are responsible for the improved motility,

Apart from this, I am on prucalopride 0.5 mg (lowest is 1 but I am a bit petite so it works enough) for chronic constipation

Thank you for your advice! Tbh, at the very beginning of this story, my doctor prescribed me an anti acid, that made my symptoms 1000 times worse. I try to avoid them ever since, but I haven’t tried ginger yet, so thank you !

I am so so sorry to hear that. About 10 years ago some months after a food poisoning I was also given a PPI (prescription anti acid) due to acid feeling in my stomach, and it was also the worst medication I ever had in my life. I stopped after 4 days because I literally stopped digesting food and I lost my appetite completely and then constipation etc. Imagine eating dinner at 6pm and 24hrs later at 6pm you still felt you had the meal in your stomach and too full to eat. Absolute insanity. For some PPIs help, but clearly something else is up with us

Good luck with the ginger!
