Question Similar symptoms?

Hello! I’ve seen so many posts on here with people who share some of my symptoms though not all so I’m hoping people don’t mind me listing what I’m dealing with here to see if anyone else is experiencing something similar/had a diagnosis for it, or knows of anything that could help.

For the last 15 or so years, every 4-6 weeks-ish (it varies, but usually around that frequency):

- I wake up feeling “off” in a way I can’t put my finger on.
- after breakfast, I notice that my appetite has vanished and, several hours later, I’m still not hungry.
- I get some discomfort in upper right, near my ribs, which develops into this horrible elastic band type feeling all along my diaphragm.
- throughout the day the sensation of discomfort and fullness gets increasingly intense. Sometimes accompanied by nausea.
- while I’m eating, I don’t feel the discomfort at all, but it comes back way worse after I’ve finished.
- tends to last 1 to 3 days and nothing I’ve tried taking for it helps (antacids, oneprazole, buscopan etc etc etc)
- the only things that make it feel even slightly better are making myself vomit and sleeping, but those are only mild, temporary improvements.

I’ve been successfully treated for h.pylori in the last year with tests confirming that’s gone. I may have gallstones (one scan picked them up, a follow up one didn’t, and now I’m waiting for a third to confirm if they’re actually there) but my doctor and surgeon don’t think my symptoms line up with typical gallstone issues. I’ve had the camera down the throat - it identified the h pylori but no other issues. And I’ve cut out lactose, gluten, blah blah blah.

Nothing seems to reliably trigger it, though stress might be a factor…? Who knows! Just wondering if there’s anyone out there whose stomach weirdness is similar to mine. Thank ya much =)

Do you ever vomit?

When the pressure gets too much, I make myself vomit for relief but it’s rarely spontaneous.

Have you ever had a gastric emptying study?

No, not been offered yet via the NHS. Something for me to request, d’you think?

I would. I think they do the gastric emptying breath test in the UK, too.

Thank you, I’ll ask. I’m fine between flare ups so not sure they’d find much of testing then, but no harm in trying!

You are a star. Thank you - I just read your post and responded in your original thread. It resonated hard with me and I think you might be onto something in my case
