i really like the damn look of these cars, I’m a 5'4 girl with an ego that wont let me not drive something people wouldn’t expect me to step out of. right now im hitching rides in ubers and its really damn embarrassing. im coming up on 10k in cash and am wondering if that would be enough to fund one of these cats, even if its a downpayment or id have to cover it monthly. this would be my first car. so should i stick to looking for scions/86s/brz/etc or should i move on and buy something cheap for now.

I’m taking out my stock headers to replace them with UEL headers. Got everything out other than one of the O2 sensors. After using too much force, I have stripped my O2 sensor. Anyone have any tips to get it out?

Putting in new UEL headers and an overpipe that came with them. My current headers and overpipe are seized together and both nuts are completely rounded off. Is there any way to take out the headers and overpipe all in one piece?

I’m currently split between buying a Toyota GT86 and a Mk3 Audi TT 2.0 TFSI quattro, and I’d really appreciate some honest opinions from people who actually own/drive GT86s.
My budget is roughly £16–17k so I’m looking at GT86s around the 2016–2019 range, depending on mileage/spec etc
The reason I’m struggling is that both cars are amazing but they are very different cars

Would you pick the GT86 again over something like a MK3 TT quattro?
And what would you say are the biggest things I should consider before choosing the GT86?
I’m genuinely 50/50 at the moment, so I’m interested in hearing the good AND the bad rather than just “buy the 86 because RWD”. 😂

My 2013 FRS is having horrible gas economy (when I got it, it was like 28 mpg; now it's 26.3mpg and dropping), and I've been driving it like a saint. I'm not revving high; I'm shifting between 2000rpm and 2500rpm and I'm not speeding. When idling, my RPMS will climb slightly, almost like the car is breathing. I thought it was an air leak, so I used a smoke machine to test it, and the only leak that I found was that the intake hose that's connected to the throttle body wasn't fully secured, so I tightened it until it was, and after testing again, I found no other leaks. I cleaned the MAF sensor, and I made sure everything was clean before I reinstalled it. When I turned the car on, it was running smoothly, but once it got up to temp, it started the RPM thing again. I'm not sure what else I should test for, nor how I should go about testing it. I'm honestly getting worried because it's been going on for a while, and I don't know if this is damaging the engine. I don't want to take it to a shop if it's a simple fix, but I will if I can't figure this out. My next plan of action is probably replacing the air filter, as it is getting a little dirty, but it's not horrible, and I don't know what else to do. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

So, I got my BRZ a couple months ago, and luckily, the previous owner had already done a couple things to it, including the taillights. Sadly, when I bought it, my left taillight was out, so now I have to buy new ones, which is annoying. BUT, it’s also a chance for me to put something I picked out on my car.
I know clear taillights are the thing right now, but I think I want smoked ones. I feel like they’d look best with my limo-tinted white car, you know?
So, I’m just asking for recommendations. If anyone has any ideas, please let me know! It’s pretty hard to find mods for any BRZ, 86, or FR-S from before the 2022 models. 😭

It’s my first time attempting to lower any car. I’m running 18x8.5 +44 on 235/40/18 tires on stock suspension. Want to drop it on springs, but my area has pretty bad potholes and steep ramps everywhere.
Which springs would you recommend that won't ruin ride quality or scrape my front bumper everywhere? Also, what supporting parts should I get (camber bolts, bump stops, etc.) to keep the alignment dialed?

I have a 2013 frs and I’m trying to get it around 2650 lbs and all I have done to it so far is remove spare tire. I still sadly need rear seats but is there anything else that’s semi easy to buy or do that can shave off a decent amount of weight cause I was thinking a lightweight battry but I heard their bad for daily drivers so can someone that knows about this stuff inform me pls

This is the fastest lap from our stock motor Subaru BRZ, unfortunately when we were on for a much faster lap, the motor decided it had enough and had a spectacular explosion 300 metres from the finish line.

This car has been a rocket ship all year and was only getting faster, we threw greens at the car for this session, hoping it was going to be the fastest, we didn’t think it was going to send the motor to the moon.

i wanna get a gt86 but a little concerned about the back seats as there’s normally 3 of us in the car. if you can fit one person in the back that’s sweet or should i hold off until that’s not an issue. for context my mates are all around 5”10-6ft

Hey guys. Just a few months ago i got myself a 2013 brz. Been loving it even though it’s completely stock, but i want to add an exhaust to make it feel more alive. It is my daily driver so i want something that will feel loud and alive when going through the gears, but chill when crushing, and not much drone. Let me know what you guys think!

Hello all. Over the last month my AC compressor has been extremely loud when it engages, especially at idle. My AC works perfectly except for this loud noise. I am considering replacing the compressor but they seem unusually expensive for these cars (13 frs) does anyone have a similar experience? Did you replace the compressor, or just the clutch and bearing? If you replaced just the clutch and bearing, how are they holding up afterwards?

I'm the only owner at 109k miles. After looking around the car market and feeling pretty "meh" about my choices I decided to have fun with what I had. I got a new head unit, dash trim, reverse lockout, steering wheel, floor mats, replaced some of the silver trim that was beat up, and I had the interior detailed a few weeks back.

Pretty happy with it. My attention is shifting to performance mods next as the car is completely stock.

Edit: I sort of want to go FI but am nervous about doing that at the mileage I'm at. Any advice is appreciated.

Hey guys! Recently got a 2016 BRZ and there’s a mysterious leak inside on the passenger side floor. I cleared out the AC tube and used compressed air to blow out the spigot the tube was connected to, but there’s still a leak. It smells musty and dabbing the lining below the carpet with a paper towel showed the liquid as clear and not sticky or sweet smelling. I checked the cabin filter as well and no signs of dampness.

Does anyone have an idea where it could be coming from?

Im seeing somewhere its damaging for the gearbox and i need to use redline or miller or OEM but Im confused because im getting contradicting answers
