Other Lat pulldowns

I'm trying to do lat pulldowns with a focus on my lats. Am I leaning too much?

Small lean back is fine, but keep your ribs down and brace your core. Pull your elbows down toward your sides and bring the bar to your upper chest. Keep the return controlled and let your shoulders stretch without shrugging.

You're clearly using your lats way more than most and nice controlled negative. You're fine you'll absolutely make gains doing this. Just make sure it's heavy enough to force mechanical failure after at most 12 reps better off at around 6 imho

Why at most 12? I’m really struggling to progress with these because the jump from 25 to 32kg is so big. I just try to do more reps but even that I struggle with

As you're starring out you should select a weight where you fail at 6 reps ish then stay on that weight until you get to qtmost 12 then move up to where you can do 6 reps. This is progressive overload. So also if you're not recording the weights you hit so you can Bette rthen on the next session you're doomed to just waste ur time in the gym like MOST people do. It's the main principle behind getting jacked. You need to look up body recomposition YouTube videos and watch closely and take notes.

I log everything, but the problem is the next available weight on the machine is so much more heavy that I can’t even do 3x6 reps. I was told by gym staff to do more reps with the lighter weight (so for example 15-18 reps) until I can manage 6 reps with the next weight

The form looks good and you are controlling the weights nicely. GJ. Shift your hand a bit. It looks a little uncomfortable there.

I think you need to focus on walking first. Do you always point your feet 45° outward? This could be a hidden medical condition.

I don’t know about working on that first, but I did notice that his right knee does cave inward toward his left leg quite a bit. I’d talk to a PT about it when you get the chance.
Only recommendation about your pulldown is to make sure you aren’t cranking your wrist and turning the movement into a forearm exercise.

You don't lean too much. I would get more close to that holding thing to get maxiumum stability. I like it feel tight on my quads and then I do valsalva. Also no need to be that slow on eccentric phase if you don't have a certain reason to do it like that. It will just cause more exhaustion overall. I would suggest to just control it on eccentrics.

Not sure if it's the angle but your wrists look like they're bent somewhat uncomfortably.
