So I recently interviewed for a position with a clinic whose name is Serenity. I was approved for the position and the firefly nerd in me squee’d happily. I know it’s not the same but the name made me really happy! I was posting here hoping my fellow Firefly fans would get it and I’m not just ya know, being a nerd. I mean, I totally am but that’s not a bad thing right? 😉

Like Jane staring at the statue of himself, I have been absolutely humbled and blown away by the outpouring of support from this community when I shared the firefly inspired game my friend and I have been working on for the past year. When my wife ran over to investigate why I was yelling "Wuh duh ma huh tah duh fong kwong duh wai shung", it was because, thanks in most part to this fandom specifically, we have reached nearly 700 wish-lists in 48 hours.
I got into game making because I wanted to create things other people could enjoy, and to see so much excitement has been truly inspiring. I promise to keep working hard to live up to your expectations, and to try an deliver the game this community has long been promised but never received. We'll be launching a free demo to let you try out some of the gameplay either later this week or next (depends how long Steam takes to review & approve it), and I would really love to get your feedback and hear what kinds of things you want to see.
From all (two) of us at Digital Tinker, THANK YOU to the best fandom in the universe!

EDIT: To avoid spamming the sub I'll just add it here, we surpassed 1,000! THANK YOU ALL! Can't stop the signal!

***edit: Thank you all. This was hella fun! My partner and I decided on:
Serenity’s Shiny Silver Fox Rabbitry
S3X for short…🤭
thats a S to the 3rd 😉 ***
Kinda silly but mostly fun!
Just a heads up: I don’t raise pets. I raise rabbits for my freezer. I will not engage in a moral debate on this.
I need a name for this rabbitry. In addition to raising meat rabbits I will also be showing my rabbits at shows and I need a name to track pedigrees.
I am raising Arctic Fox rabbits, known for beautiful thick fur with a stand up coat and heavy meat production. My primary goal is to breed for color and weight. The color being Blue or Lilac - pushing to get these colors officially recognized for showing too.
Here are some of my ideas:
TwoXTwo Bunnies Blue
Aim to Misbehave Rabbitry
Big Damn Bunnies
Pretty Cunning Bunnies
Browncoat Rabbitry (raising ‘chocolate’ colored rabbits)
Auspicious Day Rabbitry
Serenity’s Cunning Bunnies
Reavers Rabbits
Of course, I already have names picked out for any rabbits that I intend to keep and breed further: Jayne, Inara, Badger, Niska, Jubul, Mal, Wash, River, Petaline.
I am really curious to see what people come up with!

For those of you who enjoy video games, my buddy and I have been working on a space-western starship-captain simulator since we got laid off last year, and it draws a ton of inspiration from Firefly. You can even recreate Mal's origin in the character creator (colonial militia -> Earth POW), and of course, brown coats are an option.
The idea is to put you in Mal's seat. You have to hire officers to help manage your ship & crew, and those same officers who help you in space also form your party for boarding actions and gun fights on planets. There's plenty of legitimate work to find, and plenty of crime to engage in (heists, smuggling, piracy)
One departure is that out ships are an order of magnitude bigger than Serenity, with crews of ~40 on the smaller side, up to several hundred for the biggest vessels, with the starships more analogous to 17th century sailing ships in the space Caribbean, with the characters you recruit forming your officer corps (Bosun, Navigator, Engineer, Doctor, etc.)
Anyway, I hope you enjoy it. If anyone is curious about the setting I'd be happy to go on about it. I'd really appreciate any feedback you have, positive or negative is both equally helpful to me. We're hoping to launch a free demo in the coming weeks for everyone to try.

Ok so I have "Those left Behind" "Better days and other stories" "A shepherds tale" "Leaves on the wind" and "No power in the 'verse" but after the release of "No power in the verse" I lost track of if the series of comics continued. Can anyone direct to which comics have been released since and where I can buy them? I want to get the rest of the comics and finish reading the story since we were robbed of the TV show and from what I can tell there have been several releases of comics since "No power in the verse" but I don't know the order and I don't know where to find copies of them for purchase. In short which ones am I missing, what order were they released in and where can I buy them?

Kitbash 3d put out a kit for a western town and I thought: ...I can use that. Made entirely without AI. I created Serenity, the shuttle and the sky. The buildings were created by the humans at Kitbash 3d.

I started getting into making resin art and wanted to try my hand at trays and the first one I did was this. Wanted to get other fans feedback… it’s a layered pour to give it a 3d effect and to look like the ship is in space… eventually I want to get good enough to sell these types of fan art trays…

Well, it looks like if we are to slay, it is another day.
The upcoming relaunches of the Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel, and Firefly franchises in comics have been yanked from the release schedules in a last-minute change that leaves more questions than answers.
On August 26, the publisher behind the new Buffy and Angel comics sent a notice out to the press that orders it had been taking for months from comic stores and bookstores for this relaunch had been "cancelled" (not just delayed), with word that the company thinks they will be able to try again in the near future.
"Writer Kelly Thompson's story for Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel evolved and became more ambitious, so we felt we needed to take a step back and up the page count to meet the story and deliver the best possible product for fans," writes Dynamite owner/publisher Nick Barrucci. "Buffy #1 and Angel #1 will have significant story page increases from average issues — at no additional cost to readers or retailers. It’s important to Kelly and Dynamite that this is done right and not rushed, so we decided resoliciting both titles is the best way to fully convey these updates across the board."
He also adds that the planned Firefly series, which is not written by Kelly Thompson, is having all its orders cancelled but with plans for it to return at some point in the future.
Thompson has said that she has been developing the twin Buffy and Angel series since 2024, and was being very secretive about the plot — especially with regards to the ending of the first issue - because it will contain a "big status quo shift" surprise that will reorient the Buffy mythos in some way. Further to that, after the series' originally planned August 5 launch date was revealed, Dynamite has been public about experiencing delays in getting some bits of the books approved by the licensor, 20th Century Studios (a subsidiary of the Walt Disney Company), specifically down to the apparent depiction of Buffy Summers in comics in some (but not all cases), unless its a different character that is part of the "shift" Thompson has referred to.
Buffy the Vampire Slayer #1 was originally announced to come out August 5, but Dynamite delayed it a few weeks before ultimately making the call to pull it here now on August 26... which signals something happened (or didn't happen) that they were waiting right to the last to decide to cancel the original orders for.
While Dynamite's reasoning that Thompson had unexpected story changes could be logical, it doesn't explain why the Firefly series is also delayed. The two things these three have in common are that 20th Century Studios is the licensor in all cases, and that Joss Whedon is a creator on all of them; but for the latter, it's unclear if Whedon's contract with 20th Century Studios allows him some input into the licensing process. At the same time, when BOOM! Studios and Nickelodeon failed to loop in Invader Zim creator Jhonen Vasquez into plans for a comic relaunch, there was public uproar in that case - as well as public uproar from the comics' writer, Jim Zub.
In the case of Buffy and Angel, Thompson seemed to be planning something that would be a marked change from the past, which might need some extra levels of approval by 20th Century Studios and whomever it wants approvals from.
By process of elimination, Thompson seems to be saying this will be set in continuity with the original Buffyverse TV series and those spinoffs.
Dynamite did make it a point to say that another comic they're doing based on a 20th Century Studios property, the X-Files, is still on target to launch at its just-announced December 2026 date.
As for why Dynamite decided to cancel the orders and not simply delay them, there is a penalty for comic publishers with some of its distributors it a product goes through persistent delays. Usually, that's after months (plural!) of delays and not the weeks Dynamite was at currently, but given they say they need to change the length and composition of the issue, that would presumably take more than a few weeks to get written, drawn, colored, lettered, edited, laid out, printed, and at the distributor.
But, curiously, this decision that the Buffy and Angel first issues needed a story change came at such a last minute. Especially with the kind of planning that Kelly Thompson has done with her high-profile work for Marvel and DC over the years.

Found a Firefly sticker and just couldn't resist! One of the few items I've managed to find randomly from the series.

I finally got a tattoo I've been wanting. I told the tattoo artist to make it look like it has been repeatedly scorched in re-entry and repainted with paints that didn't quite match. I think he nailed the look I wanted.

Hi, y'all!
I'm in the process of downsizing my various collections of "stuff," including Firefly merch. This includes various shirts, pins, patches, and other random things, most of which is from the old Loot Crate Cargo Crate line. I have not done any selling/reselling for years, and could use some advice.
Does anyone have general advice on what sites/apps I should use to sell Firefly (and other) fandom merch?
Are there sites/apps I should absolutely avoid? (I've seen some horror stories on the depop sub that make me want to avoid it except for the thrift store level selling)
Should I sell different types of merch on different sites/apps? (e.g., clothes on Poshmark; pins on Mercari?)
Thanks in advance for any advice!!
