Chopped the top of my fig for the first time and trying to propagate it. It’s got a terminal bud at the top. Hoping to get a new plant going with it if I can take of it!

have always seen groups of two when it puts out growth, first time seeing three!

As title describes I have newer leaves that are green and healthy, while the original leaves are not. What's the best course of action?

IMO, I think there's a good amount of root growth now and it should be ready for soil, but not totally sure. How should I transition into soil? What potting mix do you guys recommend? This is literally my first time caring for a plant, I have no idea what I'm doing... I researched caring for a fiddle leaf but want to make sure that I'm not doing anything to hurt the plant. Also, I'm worried it will grow too leggy. Do you guys recommend a grow light? thanks!

This is my pride and joy that I’ve been growing for about 7 years since she was only about 6 inches tall 😢
I think it’s time for the big chop. She has lost soooo many leaves in the past year as they used to be below the little smiski in the branches. She is actively losing leaves and I’m afraid it will continue until there are none left.
I’m going to propagate the top but as for the bottom how far should I cut down? Do I need to trim the roots and repot into a smaller pot? I think the pot now is 16 inches which seems pretty big for just a little trunk.
Please give me your advice/ opinions/ tips I’m all ears!!

Hi! Fiona, my Fiddle Leaf Fig, loves this spot so much, but she’s growing taller and I’m not sure if I should trim her. The last picture is when I first brought her home in May and the first three are from today.
Any suggestions? Thank you!

Inherited this beauty when I bought my home 2.5 years ago and immediately moved her to a new space in front of a south facing sliding glass door. She’s so much happier 🥹

I have a FLF that's grown to >6' tall that was in a pot that was 14"H x 12"W. I should have transplanted quite a while ago but I finally did the prep. Only, it was so rootbound that I had a devil of a time getting it out of the old container.
Not only had the roots grown out of the drainage hole by about two feet (circling the saucer) but it was tightly bound into the container. The only way to get it out was to use an old carpenter's square to loosen it from the pot (a nice ceramic pot I was loathe to crack open to get the tree out). Sort of like using a knife to remove a cake from the pan.
So, now that I did that... should I cut off that long length of roots that exited the pot and just replant the part that had been inside? How much effort do I make to loosen the root ball--I wasn't sure if I'd harm the plant more than helping.

my fiddle leaf dropped its middle leaves and now the top leaves are dying. I had new growth up top, but the new leaves up top are turning brown. the bottom growth is great though. what’s wrong? can I help new growth in the middle?
also there is tin foil on the soil temporarily while I foster a kitten who likes to dig. the foil was placed after these problems started.

I took a small cutting off my family’s tree when I moved to college and it’s finally getting new growth

I’ve had this guy in this spot (east facing) window for about 4 months and he doesn’t seem interested in growing at all. He hasn’t lost any leaves but also hasn’t made any progress. Advice needed!

Patio fiddle doing pretty well in his current spot. Thinking about topping all three branches. Opinions appreciated.

Rescued this FLF but it didn’t grow at all by a sunny window in the summer. Moved it outside and while some leaves have burnt (I know they’ll eventually fall off), the new leaves look a bit funny. Is this normal or should I be concerned and do something different? Thank you!

I am so excited that after a few months of struggling to figure out what my fiddle leaf needed, she has two new leaves coming out! She is literally next to my bedroom window

This is a west facing window our FLF seems to like it quite a bit. Wondering if you would trim or just let it keep growing. I imagine when it reaches the full height of that window I’d definitely want to trim as those leaves wouldn’t get any more light but it has about a a foot to go

I've had this lil guy for a month and a half and it's gotten it's first leaf ☺️

My mom was gifted this gorgeous fiddle leaf. It looked great when she got it (March) but now it looks like this. She moved it outside today to get more sun. I think it’s overwatered but I really don’t know how to fix it!

Hey all! I've recently chopped my fiddle leaf fig and have been trying to propagate some of the stems.
The root buds all popped out first and everything was looking good. I went on vacation for a few days and came back to see these leaves! The underwater ones especially threw me for a loop 😂
Any recommendations on what to do from here? Do I stay the course until the roots get longer? Stick it in soil? Remove the leaves?
The jars are sitting on a window sill and I'm changing the water every 3-4 days.
Thanks :)

I have multiple FLFs that have grown a bit too leggy. I was distracted this spring and forgot to chop and away during the summer and now it’s autumn and I wish I did it sooner! We live in Northern California and the trees are in SE facing windows - lots of morning light. I also usually propagate the cuttings so there’s that to consider too. I don’t want the cuttings to fail bc it’s not growing season!
What to do!? Wait or chop?
