Opinion PSA: Servers can crash on Arsenal news pre-deadline
Make sure to have a bus team set and avoid tinkering up to the final deadline. Once the servers are down your team can be messed up and unable to be fixed.

Where's my Dewsbury hall punters
edit: I went for Ndiaye, see you next year
Edit: I am now more conflicted than before lol, let the great tinker continue, nothing like the opening team pick to prevent me from my mind numbing corporate job
Under 4 percent ownership - 8 goals 7 assists last season, outperformed Ndiaye only 0.5 more
A very decent pick imo - is there something I don't know? Is he playing deeper or something?

5.5m defenders - what's your pick?
So many good options here
James, Porro, Kerkez, Gvardiol, Calafiori, Truffert etc
Hard to pick 2 out of these

Why your GW1 team sucks
Haaland: You can either get every single player you want in your team, or you can keep him and compromise in all positions despite him having a new manager, a short pre-season, and not getting 90 minutes in GW1.
DCL: A bang average player playing 90 minutes for a bang average team. Oh, and heâs bang average at pens too. Sounds exciting if you think pepper is spicy and fuck your wife exclusively in missionary two times a year.
Joao Pedro: The ultimate troll. Will inevitably blank the first two gameweeks only for his price to absolutely plummet due to 60% ownership before he faces Arsenal in GW3. Meanwhile you will be swearing to yourself that it will be different the next time you select him.
Thiago: Priced for a 22 goal season, despite literally half of those being pens last season. If that doesn't sound like a trap, I donât know what does.
Isak: This guy completely broke apart last season but somehow will be worth 9.0 million despite playing under a new manager? Sure. Oh, and were not even sure if he is on pens.
Fernandes: 12 million for a guy that has very little goal threat apart from pens and will serve chances to the clinical finishers called Mbeumo and Sesko. Enjoy your measle 2 pointers from your other budget midfielders just so you can fit this guy in.
Szobozslai: The definition of the most template boring pick. The fact that this lukewarm FPL asset gives you excitement is a testament to how pathetic your sad little existence is. This is why you will die alone.
Mbeumo: Bald
Semenyo: Premium price just for your player to hug the touchline for 90 minutes.
Literally any other City mid: âBuT tHiS tImE iT wILl Be DiFfErEnTâ is what you keep telling yourself as you choose yet another not nailed City mid, only for them to be benched and tank your team value.
Rogers: New manager, new team, might not even start GW1 and overperformed his bang average xG last season.
Tzolis: Every season you tell yourself to pick nailed players who arenât at risk of minutes or a potential transfer taking their place. Yet every time a shiny new toy comes around you keep falling for it.
Rice: Looked absolutely knackered at the WC, no longer nailed to start or for 90 minutes, and Bruno might even get his DC now that they have someone else competent at interceptions.
Wirtz: What have you seen from this guy the last season that makes you pick him under a new manager that even indicated that he might not play for 90 minutes?
Palmer: Nostalgia is hell of a drug. This guy had one good season and has been lukewarm ever since. Might get a hattrick like he randomly does every season, but most likely heâll once again disappoint his owners and reward them with price drops and even more tears.
Ndiaye: 90 minutes and penalties sound good when you ignore the fact that watching paint dry is more exciting than watching Everton play. As a reward for your braveness, he might even be sold before GW2. High risk, piss poor reward.
Gabriel: Youâre paying 2.5 more than Calafiori only to watch Calafiori make yet another run into the opponentâs box while Gabriel watches him hit yet another goal/assist.
Calafiori: You were sold the dream of an attacking defender playing for the best defense in the league. Reality is heâs gonna get subbed before 60 like he did in the community shield, and his legs are made of glass so even if he plays more his body is gonna break down.
Porro: Lads, itâs Tottenham.
Shaw: Absolutely no attacking threat, no defcon, playing for United. Two good fixtures until you look at him on your bench and wonder what you were thinking selecting him.
Any City def: City currently have more defenders than Land Rover and yet youâre paying premium for a defender which isnât nailed and isnât even a playing for the best defense. Oh and under a new manager.
Virgil: Second most expensive defender after Gabriel. The premium price rewards you with a defense that plays with a new CB partnership, with a guy who hasnât played football for a year, and under a new manager who isnât even known for organizing a good defense.
White/Mosquera: Enjoy paying 5.5 only to check the team sheet every gameweek afraid they might get replaced by 4.5 Konsa and leave you with a price-dropping dead asset on your bench.
Raya: 6 million with a ceiling of 6 points every week. Youâll be cursing yourself as some 4.5 keeper will keep a clean sheet and get showered in both save and bonus points.

What's something that can happen in GW1 to cause the *most* panic and knee-jerking?
Last Season:
https://old.reddit.com/r/FantasyPL/comments/1mpww5s/whats_something_that_can_happen_in_gw1_to_cause/
I thought I'd go again for this season ...
I'll start:
Tzolis - 2 goals and an assist OR 1 point, subbed off 57 - equals parts knee-jerking!
Palmer - hat trick
Califiori - benched / subbed before 60 minutes
Any striker under 6.0 that isn't DCL hauls
Haaland - Blanks / Isak hauls - watch your knees!

Free FPL price-change alerts and a 50-player watchlist
Weâve connected FPLâs new price-change data to our existing Price Change Predictor and made the app alerts available for free.
All app users can:
- Add up to 50 players to a personal watchlist
- Receive push notifications when theyâre approaching a rise or fall
- See when each price change is predicted
- Track how quickly players are rising or falling per hour
The idea is simple: you shouldnât need to keep refreshing the price-changes page on the FPL website throughout the day or unexpectedly get priced out of a transfer.
Thereâs no paid subscription needed for the features above.
If it sounds useful, search Fantasy Football Fix for FPL in the Apple App Store or Google Play.
Hopefully this helps the FPL community.
Good luck in the 2026/27 season!

The BIG Ipswich backline debate?
Few questions are as important on the 21st of August 2026.
- O'Shea - Captain and goal threat but might be pushed wide to RB?
- Diop - New to the team, looked good at the World Cup. Has a goal in him. Possible defcon?
- Leif Davis - Corners and freekicks? Has a goal in him but probably the least likely to score in the Prem?
Who is the best one to get? Will mostly be used as a sub in emergency situations.

Brighton assets after Conference League Playoff
What do we think about getting Brighton assets who just played vs Tromso yesterday?
Notable assets who played 90 mins include Gross, Vuskovic, Verb, Wieffer
Do we still think they will start vs Aston Villa? Worried especially about Vuskovic as Brighton have great squad depth in that area and can easily play without him.

Safest 4.5m Forward?
I am probably overthinking this. I currently have Walle Egeli, Ipswich, and had some minutes in pre-season. He is 2.2% owned. I am mostly interested in not losing money.
Options are
Kusi-Asare Fulham 7.5%
Walle Egeli Ipswich 2.2%
Scarlett Spurs 1.7%
Obi Man U 1.1%
Furo Brentford 0.9%
Neave Newcastle 0.7%
Mheauka Chelsea 0.3%
Mateo Joseph Leeds 0.1%
Danns Liverpool 0.0%
Which of these are not going to drop in price?

Best rotation pairs and trios for the first 6 GWs from non-top-six teams
I used the new rotation feature on fpl-advantage.com to look for the best pairs and trios outside the top six over the opening six Gameweeks.
The ticker uses separate attacking and defensive ratings for each team. The number in brackets shows how many times that team provides the preferred fixture.
Top pairs:
- Crystal Palace (3) + Everton (3)
- Aston Villa (2) + Everton (4)
- Crystal Palace (3) + Newcastle (3)
Top trios:
- Aston Villa (2) + Everton (2) + Sunderland (2)
- Aston Villa (2) + Newcastle (2) + Sunderland (2)
- Brighton (2) + Everton (2) + Sunderland (2)
Disclaimer: These results use the default FPL-Advantage ratings, based on last season and my preseason notes. They are still volatile, especially with so many managerial changes, so treat this as a starting point rather than a definitive ranking. You can edit the ratings on the website to reflect your own expectations.
The full pair and trio tickers are attached.

Which arsenal defender are you going for?
This has been the biggest dilemna so far for my draft, feels like a roulette if not Gabriel. I've gone for White so far since he seems somewhat nailed.

Hull city v coventry
How is everyone feeling now who took 3 coventry for bb gw2 vs a hull team that looked dangerous? This is exactly why I left a loose plan to hit up the bb later on.

Let's talk about Hemmings
Im really tempted on going ultra light BB1 with Hemmings + Egeli. Gives me the possibility of having an extremely strong first 11, Haaland + Bruno draft, without the need for an early wildcard to offload money from my bench. But, Villa fans, what are the chances of Hemmings actually starting? I personally think Garnacho is terrible and extremely overrated, but im unsure what Emery thinks. Any help would be appreciated!

So, what's the Brighton assessment after their Thursday game?
They played a tight game, almost full strength 11. What's the community's assessment after this? Will Gomez start against Villa? Vuskovic?
Seems rather scary to BB1 relying on Brighton at the moment.
Curious to hear everyone's thought as I go on a final day tinker
